Kansas City has so many amazing BBQ joints that it's impossible to say which one is best. Most people agree that Rosedale's and Gate's have the best sauces. Joe's is great brisket. Jack Stack has good ribs. Rosedale's has amazing super-crispy chicken skin. And the list goes on and on.
As a Kansas City native, I have real pride in our BBQ and it is genuinely some of the best, though I'll admit, KC style sauce is thick and sweet and sometimes I do get a craving to use a vinegar sauce on my KC BBQ. Never be afraid to experiment and make things delicious in other, different ways! There's too much to enjoy out there!
The restaurant staff seems to really like how much Mike enjoys his food!!!! Best part, he can ID every herb, spice, and cooking method in every dish, and compare it to similar foods from other cultures. Encourages viewers to try new things because before Mike, we did not even know what the heck was in some of these dishes.
I used to live in Austin; didn't think anything could beat Salt Lick. Now I'm in KC and have yet to try Joe's, but you've convinced me that I should give it a try!
Mikey next time you are in St.L, Hit up Sugarfire. . . Pappys is good, but Sugare fire also does amazing deserts. And you can wash it down with a Ski or Fitz's.
My Wife & I love your videos, and now that you're living in Dallas, TX, you must Try Hard-Eight-BBQ in Coppel, TX. It's one of the best BBQ experiences you will have there. Additionally, if you are in for a treat, Bob's Steak & Chop house is also a must try. Enjoy & keep the video's coming!
If you go back to KC for BBQ, my personal favorite is Gates BBQ-love the sauce! You gotta do a mini-KC BBQ tour of Gates, Joe's (which you were at), Arthur Bryant's, and other smaller places like Rosedale and Jack Stack!!
Will Baska I tried Slaps today and you've got to be kidding me. The brisket was dry and rubbery and the ribs were just ok. No sign of rub on them and the sweet and mild sauce was pathetic.
Arthur Bryant's BBQ isn't even good anymore though. And neither is Gates really for that matter although I would take Gates any day over Arthur Bryant's.
Being from California, when I went to Kansas I was told to hit up that place. I was skeptical about it being at a gas station, but it was amazing. The coleslaw was my personal favorite.
I just recently ran on to your channel and love watching all your food adventures! I was pleasantly surprised to see you did this video on Kansas City barbecue. Next time you come this way be sure to check out Gates barbecue Kansas CIty, it's even had Presidents eat there, Sooo good!
I'm glad you wandered those cities, as I have yet to eat BBQ in them. In Denver, see if they have a Green Chile Cheese Burger. They may not, but just south in NM, they are pretty awesome.
If you come to Texas you should definitely visit Kruez BBQ in Lockhart,TX and County Line Big Daddy ribs in Austin,Tx. I guarantee you will Love it!!!!
Your videos are amazing man! Keep up the great work idk why you don't have more viewers!!! I'm sharing ASAP been a viewer for a while now!! Dam I want some ribs now lol
2:29 idk about y’all but I don’t prefer super soft ribs, it’s good, but I love it when they’re a bit tough, I like the chew, as long as the flavor is there that is. I’ll keep the softness for the brisket and filet.
Watching the meat come off that bone at the KC gas station place was so close to food nirvana but then the guy with elastic waistband jeans hovered behind you (obviously out of your control). Glad you couldn't see that while you were filming!
You need to do a STL Style tour. When you come back you need to go to Fitz's for a float, Sugarfire for awesome bbq, Schlafley's Bottleworks for excellent beer, IMO's for Pizza, Peel for Pizza and excellent Beer, and Urban Chestnut's Bierhall for more beer.
Have you been to Houston Yet!!!! Please come down and let me know when you are here!!!! If you have already been here, then you know!! But if not!! You need to make a point to come here!!!! The food is great!!! And thay have a Chinatown here in Houston, and the food is outstanding!!!!
Next trip to the Midwest, go to Waukegan, Il. and try Captain Porky's BBQ. It is beyond good. The shop is next door too and owned by the Shanty restaurant as seen on Guy Fiero's Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Another local BBQ that is great is Herm's in Zion.
hi my name is Wayne I love your blogs on UA-cam with food I love food I love barbecue I like chicken you are the best blogs I've ever seen may God bless you everyday
This doesn't even come close to uncomfortable in the world of vlogging. Most were either just curious or totally oblivious. You should have seen some of the reactions the camera got in Hong Kong and India.
Wait a second, you are on the other channel ! I was wondering when you say on the other channel "I need to edit video" but the video barely shows food. Now I understand. LOL. Subbed !!
I'm a Bensonhurst Brooklyn native we have horrible bbq in nyc I'll never forget the first time i had bbq in Kansas city when I was 15 I fell in love then when I went to Texas at 18 I never wanted to leave
Ribs should never "fall of the bone", otherwise it is overcooked. you should see the bitemarks in you ribs. But damn those briskets look tough....And ribs dont usually have smoke rings, they are throughout smoked.
I could really go for that z or c man sandwich omg..Im so Hungry...I mean not hungry hungry but Just really in the mood for this..I should put a bbq tour on my list of things to do before I die.
Joes is on the Kansas side in Kansas City... The Kansas City Metro area is divided between Missouri and Kansas. Good 'Q on both sides of the state line.
Joe's Kansas City is freaking amazing. Had it on July 5, 2017. Yes. I remember the date. So will you.
Have you tried slaps bbq?
You need to come try Q39 in KC. even better.
Wearing a white shirt while eating BBQ? You like to live dangerously.
Austin Powers: "I also like to live dangerously."

Triumvirate888 interesting. I'd say Rosedale is the absolute worst bbq kc has to offer.
You havnt tried slaps bbq huh?
Jack Stack is super legit BBQ!
@@jonathanguzman2648 slaps is really good! Loved everything I tried there.
@@coreyeatsdetroit9733 have you tried RJ’s?

Joe's has a vinegar base sauce now called "Bubba's". It's really good!
So brave to wear white eating bbq, my hero😀

I’ve lived in Kansas City my whole entire life I can tell you we by far have the best barbecue ever!
Damn I need to stop watching these kind of videos at night. The food looks amazing!!
You are just Soooooo adorable.I'm a grandma so I'm allowed to say that.I
don't know where you put all that food!
Why is Colonel Sanders behind u at 11:30?
BEST comment EVER!!!
Checking out the competition.
AFRO IM DEADDD
You used to live in Missouri. A compare and contrast of St Louis style and Kansas City style is a long time coming.
I used to live in Austin; didn't think anything could beat Salt Lick. Now I'm in KC and have yet to try Joe's, but you've convinced me that I should give it a try!
If you ever come back to Kansas City, please do a meet and greet!!!
Mikey next time you are in St.L, Hit up Sugarfire. . . Pappys is good, but Sugare fire also does amazing deserts. And you can wash it down with a Ski or Fitz's.
konijntjesbroek agreed!
Dude everything looks more delicious in 60 fps, you gotta do this more often!
Burnt ends at Pappy's are amazing, when I saw you went there I was hoping you had got them!

Hey my neck of the woods Shelbyville here!! Glad you came, sorry didn't realize it!
Has anyone ever given you trouble for recording while eating? That woman, in the beginning, kept looking at your camera
ikr
Her eyebrows were on FLEEK!!!

Will Hang lowkey she probably said "are you assuming my gender" but my man's had to cut it out
Kansas City Burned Ends are fantastic and there are never enough of them
Joe's KC is in Kansas. Best BBQ sandwiches ever.
I love Pappy’s! I eat there a couple times a month.

Being from California, when I went to Kansas I was told to hit up that place. I was skeptical about it being at a gas station, but it was amazing. The coleslaw was my personal favorite.

You need to go back to Kansas City. Arthur Bryant's bbq, Jack Stack bbq, Gates bbq. You should make a video with those places...
I'd reccomended S.L.A.P.'s, Q39 and Woodyard.

Next time try Arthur Bryant's, Gates, Zardas and Bates city the last being my favorite.
cool! i've lived in st louis for 4 years now, and actually also just went to joe's in kc a couple weeks ago!
Man, at Joe's in KC, you were just 2 blocks from my home. Next time in KC, KS try Rosedale BBQ....
Mike, nobody above Oklahoma does pork ribs or beef brisket better than Texas. I guarantee Texas bbq will beat anything you'll try anywhere else.
Nah. Texas pork is garbage tier.
@@Turigamot From where in TX? There are some places that are better than most and some have become too touristy and overpriced. BUT per se "garbage"??
🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you come to Texas you should definitely visit Kruez BBQ in Lockhart,TX and County Line Big Daddy ribs in Austin,Tx. I guarantee you will Love it!!!!
Never mind I see your at KC! I guess next time I'll watch the entire video before I comment!

pulled pork is forgiving and easy to cook. the bird and the ribs were dry over cooked half assed bbg.
An opinion from Tru KC Q
Next trip to the Midwest, go to Waukegan, Il. and try Captain Porky's BBQ. It is beyond good. The shop is next door too and owned by the Shanty restaurant as seen on Guy Fiero's Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Another local BBQ that is great is Herm's in Zion.

You should come to Argentina and try asado!!
I am so hungry for bbq right now...thanks
Those people in the background made this video super uncomfortable to watch. Lol
I'm weirded out by people's reaction to him while he's vlogging. It's distracting and it makes me cringe.
well, they are too....i wouldnt want somebody filming in my direction right across from me either
This happens all the time.
This doesn't even come close to uncomfortable in the world of vlogging. Most were either just curious or totally oblivious. You should have seen some of the reactions the camera got in Hong Kong and India.
I agree
Next time you go to Pappy's, you should get the deep fried corn on the cob.
Man that look amazing !!
that girl in the blue dress playing with the papertube just had the best kid time XD i remember myself doing that!
Drooling and moaning with envy. Thank you, Mikey!
I live in Nashville and will confirm that Edley's is the best BBQ joint in TN!!
