      Pratt Not if they are from Gujrat ( India) or Beijing and Shanghai ( China). The local food at said places is bland to sweet..As for Sichuan ,Hunan ( China ) or Andra Pradesh ( India ) ,even normal spicy food is crazy hot..

    I’ve eaten here. I can’t imagine a better piece of fried chicken than I’ve had from Bolton’s. They do something to the chicken that I can’t quite figure out after all of these years. Get whatever heat you’re into, yes it can get to insane levels of spice, this chicken is hands down best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. The burn was just the warm hug after a great meal. (Thigh meal Hot) the patrons sitting at the tables warned me against extra hot. Best Hot Chicken in Nashville!

    I’ve had Nashville hot chicken and let me tell you as an Indian person raised with spice, I thought I was going to pass out! The biggest issue is that many of us think we can handle all spice, but that’s a fallacy based on our own cultural perceptions of what spice and heat are. The kind of pepper used on hot chicken is very different from the green chili’s used in Indian cuisine or the Szechuan peppers that Mike would be accustomed too. That being said, the chicken was delicious, but I’d take my mother’s spiciest curries over that any day!

    Bolton's does it differently than most all of the other Nashville hot chicken places. They use the dry rub spice. Most place use a lard based sauce brushed or poured over the pieces. They are definitely GREAT, but not typical.

    Dude, Bolton's the day you are traveling is a really bad idea. I haven't watched the whole video yet, but I'm guessing you figured that out. I feel sorry for your poor rear-end. You've got to work up to the hotter flavors. It's not ghost pepper, or habanero btw. It's just a really hot Cayenne, that he orders from "somewhere special". It's part of his secret & you'd be better served trying to find out "The Colonel's" secret recipe b/c he ain't gonna tell you😉 Amazing fiery yardbird though. The best in Nashville imho. I like the bone-in b/c it's iron-skillet cooked. I hated to see that Anthony Bourdain got the tenders as they are cooked in the fryer. They are still very good, but the iron skillet & lard method is just a little better. Bourdain wanted the "Ring of Fire" (i.e. several tenders in varying degrees of heat), so I guess I can understand.

    • @nosmile47
      @nosmile47 5 років тому

    One thing that I enjoyed quite a lot was a combination of Hot Cajun and something thats called the "Afterburner" at a restaurant called Jefferson's. I'm sure they're in a lot of places. Its like almost a good and spicy curry. I love the flavor. Dry rub Hot Cajun tossed in the Afterburner sauce. Delicious.

      Popeyes is much more flavorful than KFC. I've tried both, the chicken there is not also bland but the chicken tenders are flat and bland, not a lot of breading either. Unlike Popeyes where there's much more breading, more flavor and not as flat as kfc's, pair that up with ranch and you've got a bite of heaven. Their fries are also good

    The best hing to cool down the burn from Nashville hot chicken is with cold potato salad and sweet tea. Cokes make it burn more.

    There used to be a Bolton's location near me... but the place they went into was an old O'Charley's. which meant that it was too big, and the rent too high, so they weren't able to stay open. :(
