"We didn't get paid for this sh*t". Man you said the sport is boring so you are telling everyone the product has no value. That's one of the reasons why they can get away with not paying for you for anything.

While the fact that athletes do not get paid for the “sprint” series does raise eyebrows, more information needs to be provided about why that is the case before a judgment can be made.

@kenkenichi7461 He was the spotlight until he got injured. That's when Noah decided to do the 100m. He's saying sprinting was bad for him because he did not get the highlight he deserved when he was winning compared to the likes of the Italian sprinter Jacobs who has one medal in the 100m event ever and was still being pushed on the fore front of the sports with the likes of Noah Lyles. Fred had a great comeback story that was not highlighted because even after being injured and counted out, he came back to grab a bronze medal in the 100m this Olympics. Nobody saw that coming so, it's not about him not being happy for Noah, he's just saying the sports is being marketed unfairly and athletes are not being paid enough for the efforts they put into making track the sports it is today.

But that’s kind of the point. That’s not fair. For instance starting 5 on Netflix features superstars like LeBron but also features AE and Sabonis that haven’t won rings yet and are still early in their careers. It also features Jimmy Butler that hasn’t won a ring yet but is considered a power house player and veteran. They need to show all phases and stages.

@@cymbhalmusic6332 that's unlucky that the series was not in production in 2022, but as to why Jacob is in the spotlight despite his injuries (he won indoor 60m against Coleman btw so he has 2 global golds) it's simply because he's the Olympic champion, that's the most prestigious medal you can get in track of course he's going to be in the spotlight.

Wait for it. The revenge tour is coming next year: 1. Kerley ran 9.7 three times in 2022 and he's injury-free now, so he's coming to reclaim his championship from Noah.
      2. Kishane is in Jamaica screaming Noaaaah!!! like Kirk screaming Khaaaan in Star Trek.
      3. Tebogo is turning his focus to 100m next year. He's probably gunning for a new African record.
      4. Coleman wants to tear all of them a new one.
      5. Simbine tasted medal for the first time in Paris, and he is setting new PRs again. He wants gold now.
      6. Courtney Lindsey and all the Olympics rejects are coming for blood.

The subjects of a documentary aren't supposed to get paid to be in it. It's considered journalism and would compromise the product. It doesn't matter if it's Netflix or PBS, that's how that works. If you want to get paid, then participate in a reality show - but that's a whole different beast with scripts, real deal production schedules, and "acting."

Ok, so when are we going to see a series that Ready Set Go does that gets the athletes some coins for being featured. What does that look like outside of a UA-cam Channel or a PodCast? Is it about the ones who win or the ones who entertain us? Would it be an Amazon original? I'm just curious as what a better show would look like.

  • @kt3.productions

Similar to the WNBA. Everyone wants the embrace Catlin Clark is receiving along with the ’24 rookies. What everyone is missing is that the PEOPLE has chosen who they care the most about. No need to push everyone else’s stories the same. These are the “Peoples Champs,” it’s not just a Hollywood thing.
With Jacob’s, he was the Olympic champ of that time but he wasn’t the people’s champ outside of Italy. But, knowing his story gave clarity of why we wasn’t seeing him and hearing him speak about it.
All are world class athletes, yes, but everyone isn’t a superstar. Can’t guilt or bully anyone to like or praise everyone the same.
Rule number one in entertainment, be interesting.

Wow, I really didn't think Netflix would sink as low as to not pay the athletes for being in the show. I bet all the basketball players, etc. get paid BAGS for being in their Netflix shows. Track? Nah. Can't believe they're not getting paid for this. I don't care if anyone responds saying 'Oh, but if Kerley wanted to get featured more and have 'Sprint' be better for him then he should've won'. Doesn't matter. The fact is, these athletes are letting cameras get up close and personal with their lives and for what? Literally nothing more than some PR for the athletes. But only for the athletes who are actually shown in good light. I'm not even a massive Kerley fan but surely it's obvious that he didn't get portrayed in a good light in S1? It's ridiculous that they don't pay them for this; I don't care what you say. Ridiculous.

Respectfully - they don't do much of anything. Usain did a great job marketing himself and his event. Noah is trying (not nearly as successful at it), but trying nonetheless to bring attention to the sport. There are SOOOOO many opportunities for the elite sprinters to make money - they just aren't creative enough. Maybe that's a result of the redundancies and simplicity of the sport - y'all need to step outside the lane and seize the moment. If I ran sub-10 and there was a multimillionaire in the professional football league - I would DEMAND that he put his money where his mouth is. I'd be racing everybody and their grandma lmao I'm not giving away my real ideas cause I manage athletes and my IP isn't free. But, I'd love to see the track athletes step out of the normalcy of track - it's so simple (to me).
