I watched Sprint and honestly……it was one of the best sport shows I’ve ever seen IMO
Sprint was great for track and field. More eyes are on the sport.
"We didn't get paid for this sh*t". Man you said the sport is boring so you are telling everyone the product has no value. That's one of the reasons why they can get away with not paying for you for anything.
Right imagine saying the sport boring then advocating to be paid more you don’t do what it takes for it to be paid more if you’re going on platforms like this downplaying its importance
Exactly!!! You supposed to promote your sport.
While the fact that athletes do not get paid for the “sprint” series does raise eyebrows, more information needs to be provided about why that is the case before a judgment can be made.
No Sprint was bad for Fred. Truth is Sprint was about Shacarri vs Sherika and Noah Lyles. Fred if you want to shine more win more.
Exactly, if bro was in the spotlight he would NOT be complaining
@kenkenichi7461 He was the spotlight until he got injured. That's when Noah decided to do the 100m. He's saying sprinting was bad for him because he did not get the highlight he deserved when he was winning compared to the likes of the Italian sprinter Jacobs who has one medal in the 100m event ever and was still being pushed on the fore front of the sports with the likes of Noah Lyles. Fred had a great comeback story that was not highlighted because even after being injured and counted out, he came back to grab a bronze medal in the 100m this Olympics. Nobody saw that coming so, it's not about him not being happy for Noah, he's just saying the sports is being marketed unfairly and athletes are not being paid enough for the efforts they put into making track the sports it is today.
But that’s kind of the point. That’s not fair. For instance starting 5 on Netflix features superstars like LeBron but also features AE and Sabonis that haven’t won rings yet and are still early in their careers. It also features Jimmy Butler that hasn’t won a ring yet but is considered a power house player and veteran. They need to show all phases and stages.
@@cymbhalmusic6332 that's unlucky that the series was not in production in 2022, but as to why Jacob is in the spotlight despite his injuries (he won indoor 60m against Coleman btw so he has 2 global golds) it's simply because he's the Olympic champion, that's the most prestigious medal you can get in track of course he's going to be in the spotlight.
@@Rayan2track Good point there too
S2 (Nov 13); Julien Alfred 🇱🇨; Kenny Bednarek 🇺🇸; Shericka Jackson 🇯🇲; Marcell Jacobs 🇮🇹; Melissa Jefferson 🇺🇸; Fred Kerley 🇺🇸; Noah Lyles 🇺🇸; Letsile Tebogo 🇧🇼; Gabby Thomas 🇺🇸 & Kishane Thompson 🇯🇲
No shacarri or shelly ann the goat queen?? Damn i really want to know what happened to them in paris with the whole entrance gate gate lol that incident messed everything up for us fans.
why is there no oblique?he has been the hottest to win the gold until the olympics final
@@Jay-r9j2x no star power and started to be known as a chocker anyway
but biggest thing is name recognition and no international medal. they can only accommodate so many characters🤷🏻
@@Jay-r9j2x Nah, Kishane was.
@@AthleticsEditz Both of them was,so was lyles
Sprint was bad for Fred it was not bad for the others, like Shacarri and Noah. You can’t expect to be put on the front center if you don’t win. Also if you don’t have an interesting enough personality they’re not gonna put production into you.
Wait for it. The revenge tour is coming next year: 1. Kerley ran 9.7 three times in 2022 and he's injury-free now, so he's coming to reclaim his championship from Noah.
2. Kishane is in Jamaica screaming Noaaaah!!! like Kirk screaming Khaaaan in Star Trek.
3. Tebogo is turning his focus to 100m next year. He's probably gunning for a new African record.
4. Coleman wants to tear all of them a new one.
5. Simbine tasted medal for the first time in Paris, and he is setting new PRs again. He wants gold now.
6. Courtney Lindsey and all the Olympics rejects are coming for blood.
@@johnsonanum lay down the crack pipe please
He was the reigning world champion.
@@raquelcarter3350 You are high on Noah right now, but don't worry, 2025 season is your rehab.
@@johnsonanum i can't stand the guy ....duuh
Just keep on shaking hands 😂😂😂
Sorry if they did not get paid and thats weird but sprint gave me more insight of the runners. You just see them run a split second but never know whats going on in there life or behind the scenes.
Well sprint got me waiting for the Olympics like never before. The athletes should be paid though... can't wait for the second one to come out
Please talk about how some athletes are allowed to use the PED's, Random testing, etc. It's a trivial topic but views will be through the roof.
Are you sure they all allowed to use them? I just read a story a guy got banned 4 years ago
@taniamarie2486 I don't know if all but the writing is on the wall.
@ I wouldn’t be surprised
The subjects of a documentary aren't supposed to get paid to be in it. It's considered journalism and would compromise the product. It doesn't matter if it's Netflix or PBS, that's how that works. If you want to get paid, then participate in a reality show - but that's a whole different beast with scripts, real deal production schedules, and "acting."
Why would he take part if they weren’t paying them. The others too, if they weren’t getting paid why did they all took part in this Netflix video. I don’t understand. He sounds so intelligent. Did he say he has a degree in marketing?
So many stories to be told.
lol Fred on it frfr … he ain’t come to play today … straight facts
Sprint was excellent for track. Should be the model for how people are introduced to track
If they made money, now they hand to pay. Just like the Jersey Shore crew, they didn't get paid at first
Ok, so when are we going to see a series that Ready Set Go does that gets the athletes some coins for being featured. What does that look like outside of a UA-cam Channel or a PodCast? Is it about the ones who win or the ones who entertain us? Would it be an Amazon original? I'm just curious as what a better show would look like.
Similar to the WNBA. Everyone wants the embrace Catlin Clark is receiving along with the ’24 rookies. What everyone is missing is that the PEOPLE has chosen who they care the most about. No need to push everyone else’s stories the same. These are the “Peoples Champs,” it’s not just a Hollywood thing.
With Jacob’s, he was the Olympic champ of that time but he wasn’t the people’s champ outside of Italy. But, knowing his story gave clarity of why we wasn’t seeing him and hearing him speak about it.
All are world class athletes, yes, but everyone isn’t a superstar. Can’t guilt or bully anyone to like or praise everyone the same.
Rule number one in entertainment, be interesting.
It's a hollywood thing. These shows are a hollywood thing.
@@wss33 what else would it be, what would that be called?
Sorry. but doesn't being simply profiled on a Netflix show in itself provide athletes with more visibility and PR and, as such, sponsorship deals, brand deals etc.?
He’s saying it’s not. Ima take him at his word and understand his perspective. Only way he can get paid for sure is if he wins.
Great exposure no matter what for track which hardly gets watched unless its Olympic year and his in the show for him to say that is crazy. Like foreal they might have not payed him good but people now know who he is.
Sprint was bad for fred not track and field, the show still did a good job telling a story about worlds
I think sprint was great ! Spreading the popularity of track and field
Wow, I really didn't think Netflix would sink as low as to not pay the athletes for being in the show. I bet all the basketball players, etc. get paid BAGS for being in their Netflix shows. Track? Nah. Can't believe they're not getting paid for this. I don't care if anyone responds saying 'Oh, but if Kerley wanted to get featured more and have 'Sprint' be better for him then he should've won'. Doesn't matter. The fact is, these athletes are letting cameras get up close and personal with their lives and for what? Literally nothing more than some PR for the athletes. But only for the athletes who are actually shown in good light. I'm not even a massive Kerley fan but surely it's obvious that he didn't get portrayed in a good light in S1? It's ridiculous that they don't pay them for this; I don't care what you say. Ridiculous.
Is he going to tell us why they weren’t paid? Who’s signing a contract that doesn’t allow them to be paid? Explain Fred.
I rock withnthis platform but this is why not all people deserve a voice. Fred dont know what the fck he talking about.
Says the one who is on the tv show
But that crazy asf that they didn’t get paid 😮 they the product
how come the athletes didnt make no money off the Netflix show? mehn...go get Floyd Mayweather to manage you. For real!
Why didn’t they get paid
Things come in stages. To me, Sprint was Def better for the sport
Everything is bad according to Fred 😂
SAY WHAT.. YALL AINT GETTING PAID FROM THAT DOC?!?!?!... HOW THAT WORK?
Sprint was bad for Fred. Let’s be clear.
Respectfully - they don't do much of anything. Usain did a great job marketing himself and his event. Noah is trying (not nearly as successful at it), but trying nonetheless to bring attention to the sport. There are SOOOOO many opportunities for the elite sprinters to make money - they just aren't creative enough. Maybe that's a result of the redundancies and simplicity of the sport - y'all need to step outside the lane and seize the moment. If I ran sub-10 and there was a multimillionaire in the professional football league - I would DEMAND that he put his money where his mouth is. I'd be racing everybody and their grandma lmao I'm not giving away my real ideas cause I manage athletes and my IP isn't free. But, I'd love to see the track athletes step out of the normalcy of track - it's so simple (to me).
Noah will run Below 10.3 at world's because he's knows that in order to beat evvvverrbody he'll have to go that fast especially to beat Tobogo bean ..
10.3?? 🤦🏼♂️
You mean 19.3
Maaaaaan please Sprint was a great show!! Lyles brings excitement. Stop making excuses for the boring male personalities. If track is boring it's because of the athletes
Sprint was bad for Noah, but he doesn't know it yet. So many ignored and disrespected sprinters are going to whoop his ass at the championships next year
Noah could get whooped every race from here on out, and he still gonna retire as an all-timer. Olympic champion of the 100m and triple World Champion in the 200m, and those are just his gold medals.
None of these guys are Bolt, but then again they don't have to. Being one of the greatest sprinters of all time still means something even if you are not *the* greatest.
@@kassimadammahmoud9142 Nobody denies he's an all timer. But he may have to accept that his period of dominance is over. Younger, hungrier and more talented sprinters like Tebogo and Kishane have tasted success and want to beat him badly.
@@johnsonanumI don't think Noah has to accept anything until he hangs up his spikes for good in retirement. Titles aren't won solely because of age and new generation emerging. Just like how Noah performed in 2022, 2023 and 2024 this year, he will give his best foot forward no matter what and isn't scared of competition.
Sprint brought eyes to the sport, how is that a bad thing? you cant highlight everybody, just like the other netflix sports doc, they highlight a handful of athletes within that sport. question is,if fred was one of those athletes highlighted, would he be complaining? lets face it,fred doesnt come off as personable and by this interview,he doesnt appear to be that articulate, although immensely talented, why focus on fred when there are other athletes who have a personality that translates well on camera
Also why is he complaining now that Netflix didn't pay him? Did he not know this going into filming? Like you're gonna sign up for free PR, some of the best and most far-reaching PR there is outside of track, you're gonna sign up knowing you're not getting paid and then you complain? Bye girl.
Knowing all that doesn't make it right
@@shortie9103agreed! People SHOULD be compensated for their time/effort as well as the image that is making folks money. And the only way to shift the culture (of undervaluing sprint athletes), folks need to ADVOCATE for the sport as well as themselves. To call that complaining… 🤦🏿♂️🙃
What does he want? Dog that’s every damn movie/documentary. Lets be for real
Fred sounds ridiculous. I can show you plenty of docuseries where the people don’t get paid.
Fred should’ve won the hundred in his opinion (Nope).. Fred doesn’t like young Track Stars getting more shine than him (Quincy Wilson) says it bad for the sport!, Fred need to be quiet cause Fred don’t like anything. Can’t value his comments!
Horrible take lmfaooooo
The whole world knows including Kerly that he's slow and he'd probably need more body mechanics training and to lean out 10lbs to up his speed
If Kerley's 9.81s in Paris was slow to you, you must be either Kishane or Noah or an ungrateful fan of the sport.
noah and kishane slow too then
@@Akerlexic Kishane and Noah are superfast. Only two of them can claim Kerley was slow at 9.81s.
Lean out? Hahahaha ridiculous
Well it's no secret or not rocket science that evvvverrbody knows Shacarri runs 10.5 in practice and runs 10.6 at world's So common sense would tell people that Shacarri did Julien Alfred a favor .. we still love Julien but the whole world knows Shacarri is the fastest
I need you to stop smoke crack
Practice doesn't count, because it can be lies. Only thing that matters is what you deliver on record.
@@johnsonanum atleast u got sense not everyone living in the states has common sense it seems
@@torres7485 Blame social media for that. Too much hype focused on a few sprinters.
Julien is faster than Sha'Carri over 200m. And because of her 100m gold, 60m gold and Diamond League trophy, Julien earned the title of Fastest Woman in the World this year.
