For the anchor leg, Asafa Powell has the second fastest anchor leg split ever, at 8.68, of which he ran in 2008, and many say he should have the fastest, as there is much debate about how legitimate the timing of bolts 8.65 in the 2015 world relays really was.
@@rasberrydefender1930I get that. To me, Justin is always in "boost" and punching NOS. I just cannot get this out of my mind, and likely he will pull off something unnatural.

Coleman 1, Bolt anchor🤷🏿♂️ pick anyone for the middle legs....Gatlin at 2 cause he's so consistent and Gay at 3rd cause that's my guy and no slouch on that turn
First guy needs to have a good start and good turn which would be Asafa, or Coleman. Asafa is faster but Coleman starts a little faster so it's a coin flip but Asafa is Jamaican so he gets it. Second leg needs to be a top speed guy so Lyles or Gaitlin but since Gaitlin is slightly faster he gets it. Third leg should be the fastest turn runner you can find which is Yohan without a doubt and anchor needs to be the fastest human possible or at the very least someone with insane top speed. Bolt has both so he gets it. When you break it down like this I don't see any issue with the selection. Now if the question was "make the best 4x200 possible" the Lyles obviously gets the third leg behind Yohan and Bolt but ahead of Michael Johnson.
Gatlin earned Usain's respect, bookending his career. He was the (absent) defending Olympic Champion when Bolt began his run, he was the guy who beat him in his last race. Of course that absence was because Gatlin was serving his second drug suspension (most people don't get two), but back on the track Gatlin was on the Olympic podium with Bolt in 2012 and 2016, only beaten by Blake and of course Bolt in three Olympic appearances.

Ist leg: Noah Lyles 2nd leg: Tyson Gay 3rd leg: Johann Blake or Usain Bolt 4th leg: Usain Bolt or Johann Blake Asafa is a powerful finisher (final leg) evidenced in past relays and taking down records. I think his starts impede on how fast he finishes, and therefore, I would not use him in the 1st leg. I think you can count on Lyles to be 1st to hand over the baton. Tyson Gay is in the top 3 fastest runners alive today, he was just managing to upkeep top speed in Bolt's WR 9.58, though soundly beaten. This shows that he can hold pace with the rest of the best. Usain is absolutely my top choice, but I have watched Johann Blake in top competitive form, pushing Bolt very hard. Either of these 2 runners can hold their own as evidenced around turns and by way of their finishing speeds in the 100 and 200. 8t's a tough call to decide which of them should run the 3rd leg and anchor.
@Yes_I_c4n yeah. He has the tenacity to finish despite however he starts. Also, in case he flops in that 1st leg as he did in the Paris 2024 200m final, there is greater talent to make up for potential short-comings. You can't deny Lyles' finishing speed.
@Yes_I_c4n There is one more thing to remember: Lyles has a lot of work to do. And if he was amidst this dream team of champions, he would be deeply motivated with something to prove. He did it in the 100m, and emerged with his personal best.
@@teligon Out of all legs, 1st leg for Lyles? Heck no... It's either Asafa or absolute prime Coleman. 2nd leg belongs to Gatlin (8.74s split), 3rd leg is Yohan's and anchor leg is Usain's. I don't really see room for Lyles. Fastest split that he's got is 8.77s and that's slower than a lot of guys down the home straight.
Noah Lyles never in the world! there at least 5 or 6 better than him. By the way he is insufferable. As you said chemistry is important and nobody like arrogant pedantic people.
He is correct. when you considering whole history those four are best choice. 1. Lyles is nothing to compare with Gatlin yet.
There are 4 Jamaicans with faster times than Lyles and at least 3 Americans. Based on that Noah would struggle to make a B team. But we know really is not just about foot speed so my team is 1.Coleman 2.Gatlin / Gaye 3. Blake 4.Bolt. 2ng leg is a tossup between Gatlin and Gaye. Just pull a name from a box.
This is a non issue.. who are the 4 fastest 100m runners of all time?! There is your answer; submit all your wrong answer here please. This is why running is quantifiable, its measurable. Chemistry can have a lot to do with it too, but chemistry is something that is built over time, and that in theory would happen if they actually practiced it. but id also add in consistency over that distance as well. 1 great race can be iffy.
Gatlin openly showed respect to Bolt on the track and this is Bolt showing some respect back.

Minus Gay you've got the fastest guys in history and probably the most experienced 4x1 guys so who could argue with that team?
LYLES? What a koke. It would be newsworthy if he even beat ONE of these guys in their prime
Blake-Great starter
Bolt-Has to run 110m
Lyles-2nd best 200 runner
Gay-great power
Bolt snubbed all the carbon plated spikes sprinters. Sprinters need tremendous strength and stiffness in their feet and toes. Carbon plate will improve performance.
It’s logical 9.58 makes it logical
even if christian has a great start hes still gonna get caught in comparison with any other first leg option , so i wouldnt even consider him.
Tyson Gay, Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Mr Powel
1st Powell, 2nd Leg Justin Gatlin, 3rd Yohan Blake, 4th Bolt with a time of 35.99
Carl Lewis!
1 Powell. 2. Gatling.3.Blake .4.Bolt
As long as Terek Hill or any other footballer or futbaler is in the stands watching I am okay with whom every else is selected.
Multiple American on relay team = muffed and/or dropped baton passes.
Also... Donovan Bailey? Andre deGrasse?
4x100 the best team for me could be the 2012 team, but with Asafa (2nd leg) unfortunately he got injured. 😢
Team A:
Tyson Gay, Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt
Team B:
Christian Coleman, Justin Gatlin, Nesta Carter, Maurice Greene
Or switch Carter and Gay for Jamaica vs US
Personal opinion: 1. Coleman, 2. Bolt, 3. Blake. Powell
1. Prime Coleman the best starter ever, 2. Prime Powell/Noah because those 2 are even imo for 2nd leg, 3. Prime Blake the best 3rd leg ever, 4. The GOAT
Blake doesn't hold the 3rd leg fastest split.
@Yes_I_c4n I think it's Gay right? But imo on average a prime Blake comes out ahead. But I'll also add Gay for 3rd along with Blake because both are kinda even
@@buyacka9 i was pointing out that Bold holds the fastest 3rd leg ever. Sub 9s down the curve, 8.98s iirc.
Asafa to gaitlin to Yohan to bolt. They would run a 36.1
Where is Colman?? He great relay run and great starter
agreed, gatlin isn’t far off but i’ve heard gatlin talking abt his dream relay and he’s got coleman at 1
Powell is better in 4x1 one of best starters ever and better top speed and maintenance
@ I feel think Colman is a better relay athlete and Powell is a better 100m athlete. Just an opinion
@@LIL_flips he's sloppy and has been part of multiple botched exchanges at important moments.
@ only one I know of that the handoff messed up was this year and tbh I feel like it was Kenny’s fault. Plz tell me so of the other relay handoffs that he did cause I don’t know many🤷♂️🤷♂️
1. Christian Coleman
2. Justin Gatlin
3. Yohan Blake
4. Usain Bolt ⚡
He should have chosen that somali woman sprinter
Asafa, Bolt, Michael Johnson and Sean Crawford for the men's. Women's world be Fraser-Pryce, Merlene Ottey, Veronica Campbell and Lauryn Williams.
1.Coleman first 90m
2.Lyles 110m
3.Blake 100m
4.Bolt 100m
Alternate Gay
After the first leg, it's all about guys with the highest top end. (Fast 200m times)
I would do cc too gat too blake too bolt
Golden era: 1. Gatlin 2. Blake 3. Bolt 4. Gay
All time: 1. Coleman 2. Blake 3. Bolt 4. Lyles
Delusion: Tyreek Hill running all legs by himself
Ist leg: Noah Lyles
2nd leg: Tyson Gay
3rd leg: Johann Blake or Usain Bolt
4th leg: Usain Bolt or Johann Blake
Asafa is a powerful finisher (final leg) evidenced in past relays and taking down records.
Lyles 1st leg? 😂😂
@@teligon Lyles is fast, no doubt. 3.35s split is amongst the fastest splits ever.
No Canucks Gold Medalists? Seriously
1 De grasse 2 Powell 3 Blake 4 blpt
Bolt
YOHAN BLAKE START ,TO TYSON TO BOLT AND LYLES ANCHORS
pfft these articles are trash clickbait. Hate people who just want to stir up drama for the sake of it.
What a clickbait to take this even serious. Lyles shouldn't be even on the short list...
Noah Lyles never in the world! there at least 5 or 6 better than him. By the way he is insufferable. As you said chemistry is important and nobody like arrogant pedantic people.
NOAH LYLES ,TYSON GAY ,USAIN BOLT AND YOHAN BLAKE. BLAKE TO TYSON TO BOLT AND LYLES ANCHORS.
1. Coleman 2. Gay 3. Blake 4. Bolt
He is correct. when you considering whole history those four are best choice. 1. Powell , 2-Gatlin,3-blake,4-Bolt. when you look at how gatlin ran 2012 4x100m relay it is insane.I agreed to choose Gatlin over gay bcz gatlin is the one long lasting than gay and more consistent. and asafa powell also more consistent over long period than gay.
That's not a "Situation". That's barely gossip. EDIT: Still, I enjoyed the video. Thanks TRP!
Nothing wrong with Bolts opinion on this. Its all a matter of preference - smh
1. Coleman
2. Either: Lyles, Gay, Gatlin, Asafa
3. Blake
4. Bolt or Asafa
Carl Lewis, Andre De Grasse,
Snubs? Lyles is nowhere near top sprinters in this Bolt team! Get off that nonsensical hype
