I have a 2003! Waiting for 1150 video
Hello Chris I have one interesting idea that come to my mind lately and I decided to ask you as the most knowledgeable BMW technician that I know
So I have 2001 R1150RT which comes without cruise control as an option I have a friend who has two broken down K1200LT and I'm thinking of getting the cruise control system from one of them. The question is the K bike has pulse speed sensor and my RT has cable speedometer but with ABS I have removed the ABS system long time ago because is very problematic and dangerous but I still have the abs sensor on the bike can I use the one of the existing abs sensors as an speed sensor for the cruise control and if yes which wire goes where thanks for your time Alex from Bulgaria
I wonder if my 2003 R1150RTP was used as a trainer or something for a few years. Records show it was with CHP until about 106k miles.
Will the common Delkevic pipe work without a chip?
Do you know if the rear brake caliper on the r1100rt will fit on the rear of a k1100lt?
Hi l live in Wellington NewZealand, I am an ex mechanic and have restored a 2000 R1100RTP Imported from the US back to its CHP spects. What a job. In NZ our police run the ST1300 not a well liked bike here, thay ran The BMW R1100, 1150, 1200RTPs.
I have a question for you, I have tried the standard RTs but the RTPs feel more solid and stable to ride have BMW done any changes to the frame or setup.
Same frame and set up, except the R1200RT-P doesn't have ESA where the civilian bikes do. The P models are heavier though, that may be what you're feeling going down the road.
Keep it mostly stock.
Hey brother I have an 04 r1150rt-p what tool can I use to andjust the throttle and the carbs it uses a lot of gas...I just got it from my dad and he messed with it allot and I want to fix it and restore it...its got 110xxx miles what maintenance should I do to it and where can I find a manual or a guide book for maintenance
Haynes and Clymer both have decent manuals. Also a lot of step by step threads on BMWSportTouring.com
@@alm4132 thanks
Put down the wrench and step away. There are no carbs on that bike........
@@anonanonme2463 hahaha that's what my dad told me so I'm just doing my own research before I get started doing any work on it
Hi Y'all. I love to rant also, How many theories are out there for setting up TPS from scratch? I have a GS 1100. I stripped the butterfly stop, and never knew, just wouldn't idle, everyone replaced everything, lots of stuff it didn't need. Threw my tps and sych to bits following the procedures, the zero zero blah blah, its all bullshit, you cant set throttles to zero o nan eye-ometer and the adjustment is in cats whiskers. Then setting up tps with another set of throttle bodies, they set it with diagnostics, but the bike hates it, big lagsand dead spots, piss poor accelleration, so i set it myself, keep bringing the tps down in increments, by feel, until i like riding it again, But idk anything, i'm just tuning by air... I've seen a Swedish guy do a video, he had it right set it all to zero, back to bing, from western austraslia ($30 postage for a $3 screw,m thanks bing). sets tps to zero, then brings stop screw in to 350, or so, lock it down, synch it, thats it. What do you reckon mate?
Gross looking bike I think
