I've really enjoyed my 7 weeks with this Z4 M40i, AC Shnitzer's upgrades have really turned it into a UK rocket ship, their coil over suspension is a real standout for me! Thanks for watching as always, see you at the next one 🎬
I took the plunge and got myself one of these last year. Fantastic car. I was apprehensive initially…we don’t have the weather to truly enjoy the car, practicality etc. no regrets however but I am planning to change as it’s not a car I would hold on to for a long time
Always loved a soft-top- for the reasons you have pointed out in your vid Joe. Really adds to the experience imo! You don’t need to go mega speeds, but it really adds to the drive.
What a wonderful video. And well done you for putting your hand up about the original review 2 years ago, just delighted you’ve been able to appreciate it in a new light. I haven’t stopped smiling since I bought mine 2 years ago - in San Francisco red in case you see one in the Denham area ! And RIP David, he would appreciate this as a fitting tribute, I’m sure.
These Z4s really can be addictive. I am not a convertible fanatic but since having got my second gen Z4 (E89) you really do appreciate those moments when the roof comes down and you have nice road in front and a sonorous 6 cylinder engine! It's a shame BMW have announced that they are no longer going to continue the Z4 after this model.
Hi Joe, I’ve watched your videos for a while and remember when you were in the M135i. I’ve been away for a while so catching up and my god your cars have become insane! Nice one mate, genuinely happy for you. 👍
Nice review Joe - I have a stock Z4 M40i loving every minute of it, thought about upgrades but don't push it that hard that often, mainly due to the Mrs and 6 points ;-) but agreed many have under rated it and you need to live with it for a while to really appreciate it.
I ordered my M40i last July (2021). Current delivery date? Sometime in June 2022 and even that hasn't been nailed down. Not happy but, at least it's given me extra time to pull the deposit together without selling any of my whisky collection. Regarding those 20"rims, I honestly prefer the stock ones just from an aesthetic point of view.
Great review.. appreciate your calm tone.. instead of those screaming reviewers on the tube.. I’m considering getting also one for myself cuz I don’t really got much hobbies beside sport haha.. hope for a daily it can do the job..
Let's sit back and see how long it takes for other you tubers (who watch joe) to gently add " bump steer" into there vocabulary on how the vehicle feels😇 I have noticed " texture" has been mentioned more frequently on other automotive channels.
The Z4 is a good convertible because it was designed from the ground up as a convertible that's why there's no coupe version unlike the M4 which is a conventional coupe
If only they could make one with a manual... The Zupr4 too. I know ZF 8-speed are fenomenal just as my left foot. So please let me use it BMW en Toyota!
@@mantazini even for the back on a front wd? I bow to your expertise. Gonna have to Google the set up on the ep3 now, it's been a while since I had that car!
Could you be converted to a vert ever yourself Joe? Loved watching these Z4 videos. Have a Tony M440i Vert on order and cannot wait. My favourite trips in an MX5 though are winter ones where it feels like it shouldn’t work but it’s all an even greater experience. Keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻 RIP Dave 🤟🏻
@@JoeAchilles1 Thanks Joe, I see. I never heard it was locked in November or my memory failed me. I looked at the time when the spec video together with Tony came out. For the circumstances with the chips and dip still doing it's thing 5 months is fully okay.
Hi Joe, regarding your exhaust on your G80 M3… Did you remove the entire exhaust and put a replacement in? I’m wanting to get a Rs3 but removing the OPF will void the warranty but not sure if the entire warranty will be void or the exhaust only? Keep up with the videos 💯
If there is a point where you can unbolt the stock exhaust, like what Joe did with his M3, then you can just put the stock exhaust back on whenever it goes to Audi and then they’ll never know. If you did have to cut it and weld on replacement parts then they’d notice that and void the warranty, not sure whether that would be the whole warranty. Also worth looking into where you stand with passing an MOT with OPF delete
You don’t get any warranty with a vehicle that covers an exhaust system as it’s classed as a consumable part. That includes brake pads, brake discs, wipers, wheels, tyres and batteries as they are generally replaced throughout the lifetime of a vehicle. Most people just replace the back box as that also muffles the exhaust note without messing with the section of pipe fitted with the OPF.
@@jakewoolley9533 thanks for the reply mate really appreciate ❤️… Most likely I might get a PFL Rs3 but I do like the new Rs3 but the sound is crap so I was seeing if you could remove the OPF… If you had an issue with your headlight for example and you’ve removed the OPF from the Rs3 2022… You think Audi will cover you?
@@fusionlord2533 I think they would cover you on that sort of thing, but anything engine related they would probably say you’ve modified the exhaust system so they wouldn’t cover you, although as I said if it can just bolt on and off then they’d never know. Best thing to do is check with your local Audi dealership
Really enjoyed the video Joe, one of your best in my view. As a huge car, convertible fan and fellow UA-camr, although amateur compared to you, I really enjoyed the long term review. I think you made the right decision including the good and minor faults with the car, and you did a great job highlighting the enjoyment a convertible can bring if you love driving for the sake of it. Awesome video 👍 and it would definitely be on my shortlist.
Hah hah, Joe, you have been "convertiblized". When you talked about how you & your wife have enjoyed driving around at the end of the day, that's just how my wife & I feel about this car, which we have owned for the past 18 months. I don't understand why these cars aren't more popular than they are.
Each to his own of course but this car could be used to teach the art of how to make something look way worse with loads of unnecessary bits and bobs. The wheels, the spoilers, all of it much worse than standard. Taste schmaste though - looks like it drives better than it looks!!
Do motech only do work that keeps there hands clean. Any workshop could do what they do! Car went all way from berry to Northampton for wheels to be fitted 🤣 jokeman!

Very honest review, thanks
Another awesome video Joe. Thank you
How do you get the ac schnitzer upgrades and make sure it’s still covered by bmw warranty
Those are some good looking rims!
Another great video Buddy. I enjoyed this 👌👏
Bump steer lol omg had the same problem in a z4 30i, feels like the wheels on each side are on two different terrains
Most beautiful current BMW model
That car should be put on a plinth at Berry Croydon
Always remembered to Bimmerdeals @ David XXX

Had a civic type R ep3. The rears had toe in for agility, but front wheel drive so not the same load. Made it very agile! Not sure on a turbo rwd,....
Toe IN is for stability . Toe out is for agility

Lovely car! Quality filming and excellent sound quality considering roof down.
Thank you 🙏 Always a gamble with sound when the roof is down 👌
when did you get your m3 order in? ordered in october and still not even in production. 😕
This is as close to a BMW z4m we will get for this new generation
That’s some serious margin in those wheels!
Looks so well worth the kit and wheels on 👍👍
Is the bump steer fixable?
Hi Joe, do these come with an LSD as standard? I see the cheeky drift onto the 'private' road aha! (EDIT: It does)
brilliant video mate 🙏 can't wait to get my convertible 😁
There is one for sale with the same wheels. Beautiful car.
Just here to say that I gave the 1000th like… and that now I want a Z4 😂
Haha I will deliver it to you first thing 😉
@@JoeAchilles1 please 🙏😂
Do miss my Z4 e85
Would you go for a Z4 or an 8 series, 850, or even M8, convertible? (Money no issue)
Did I just see a Motech employee rattling in wheel bolts without starting the thread by hand 😬
Looks like proper good fun. I really like this new version of the Z4 - wish I was in the market for one.
Not sure that bobble hat suits the overal look Joe? 😁 Great review as always
How many inches are lower?
it looks commically on road with that lowered suspenssion. Standing still, looks nice.. in the move though.. neeah..
Amazing car, but the hat really ties it all together.
M9 joe,your thoughts ?
This is the BM I want.
Don’t usually like convertibles but this is unreal
How have you managed to to get a M3 delivered in 7 weeks, I've been told 6 months?
Z4 M40i grille bumper >>>>> G80 G82 beaver
BMW prioritize the M models in the production, but damn this was a fast delivery from order to then be able to collecting the car from Tony?
Original order was placed 1st week in Oct, I locked my spec in mid November. 5 months isn't what I would call fast, about average at the moment.

Im still very upset about David King, just cant believe it, same age as me :(
Yeah such a loss, gone way too young mate ❤️
spyrospanoulos wheels, eh?
The wheels look good, but £8.5k...what are these people smoking?! 6Sixty design forged magnesium wheels are £7k and they're a lot lighter.
Stance . Stance !!!
No 599, favourite UA-cam’RRRRR
Car is to small for your 6foot4 and 🎩
Z? 😱
You could almost buy a tank of petrol for £8.5k……..
That Z4 leaves a big hole …..

Cabrio in UK? Does this car exist only to be imported to Japan later as it is useless
Nowt to do with the weather as us Brits have always loved convertibles. Check out our long history with those type of cars.
