I've had miy Z4 M40i for around 14 months now, and I love it. I know it's not the sharpest track car, but as an all round ownership proposition, and if you want a drop top, there isn't really anythimg else to rival it. Fun, fast, and very good looking. Mine is my main car. I use it for B road blasts, school runs, shopping...
Awesome sports car. Surprisingly, it did the Nurburgring in 7.55.41 min Beating the 911 turbo 7 7.56.00 min according to Auto Sport in Germany. Mind you, that is the European Z4 M40i version (340 hp) US (382hp).
@@PauloFernandesfitness I do.. And yes the depreciation is huge especially in the 1st 3-4 years.. But I would like to buy one new so I can spec it exactly like I want it and treat it from the start properly like I want to.. Protect/Coating it and always park it indoors from the start etc.. But I just cannot get myself to pay suck high tax on a car.. So I do buy used, but forced.. Buying used it's hard to find the exact spec you want and you almost never know how the previous owner treated it.. Used cars almost always show signs of use..
Love mine, as for the softer ride it is a grand tourer rather than an all out sportscar like your Porsche. 60k fully loaded and new try finding an equivalent car and tech for that price
Interesting that BMW do now offer a manual in the Z4 M40i, although I think it’s a limited edition and even more money! Also for a 2 seat roadster, I thought the ride quality in comfort was really good. Really good cruiser.
I bought my Z4 M40i used and the only ‘pack’ that it did not have was the one that included the blind spot indicators - which really should be standard as you are right the blind spots on this car are huge! Come on BMW, I had blind spot warnings as standard on my MX5 RF so god knows why it’s an option on the Z4.
Did u have any major issues with wheel spin or tail happy in the wet as it’s not an x-drive ? I want to buy one of these but I don’t want to be fighting for my life every time I come to a wet bend or plant the throttle down . Also my wife will be driving it and she is worried it is “too much “
erm i think tyres are the biggest issue when it comes to the wet. The car does squiggle a little if you dump the throttle and deliberately make it tail happy. I think with any RWD car, it needs to be respected when driving around bends
I drive a stage 1 tuned bmw 330d at the moment but that’s xdrive and is brilliant in all conditions so was just worried the m40i would be a widow maker 😂😂
@@notoriousMrP If you are running on the standard Michelin Pilot Super Sports it can be very exciting to drive in anything other than hot weather. But the electronics are brilliant and keep you safe. I am moving to a less full on tyre next time.
@@notoriousMrP I'm currently thinking about the Michelin Pilot Sport 5. I'll sacrifice a bit of extreme dry weather performance for better wet weather grip.
Есть ли смысл с точки зрения ездовых качеств брать вместо 240 зетку? Для меня они равнозначны и по сути я бы взял то, что быстрее. У зетки аэродинамика на скоростях норм?
Great review. Good car, really love how good it was around day to day but had that slightly sportier edge! The b58 is a power house too! And I loved that paint and seat combo!
European cars are generally cheaper in Europe, its a left hand drive car which can be cheaper because its much harder to export and all of the prices are in British pounds
an underrated and super fun car for sure, plan to pick one up later this year

Great to hear! It’s such a good package 👏🏼 enjoy Pete!
I got mine about 4 months ago as my daily. I haven't had a more thrilling car. 𝘱𝘰𝘱, 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘣𝘭𝘦

Ditto around the same time. Added race chip and HRE+ FF10 WHEELS.
60k GBP is cheap.. In my country the BMW Z4 M40i is over 95k Euro base, or over 81k GBP.. All because of the extra tax on it..
Dear me 🥹🥹
just get one used , why are you eating the depreciation?

Limited edition is an interesting point. Will also be interesting to see how many more get sold vs the ZF gearbox
I have a manual Z4 on order. It's only $300 USD more than an AT Z4 if you select the same options.
Vey true I’ve been waiting for this car since 2019 only reason never pulled the trigger was, no manual.
Bought a M240i in March and whenever it's sunny outside I hate myself for not getting the Z4 M40i

I have a 2019 M40i and I have to say your exhaust note sounds much louder than mine!
Got one as my daily, on a 69 plate great fun and fast enough on UK roads, no issues over these three years, and servicing costs not too bad as well.
Great review 👍
Thanks Michael 👊🏼

Loved the video and the sound of the car at the end 🔥
What camera did you use to capture the sound? Did you also use a microphone at the same time?
Haha thank you bro!
90% of the video was filmed on my iPhone. The car footage was a GoPro hero 10 with a directional mic hanging off it
It’s 382 BHP, not 340. Unless you get less in the UK.
Nice review. I’d get one in Thundernight Metallic.
340 because of emissions regulations. :(
What a car - beautiful paint as well

Twas a very good day!
Thanks for the patience whilst I filmed the last few bits 😂🫶🏼
Good clip, but the the beeps are loud and annoying.
Great video 👏🏻
Thank you mate 🫶🏼
You should do a review of the Supra now to compare it 🙂
I should! Be good to see the differences
5.9k for a M40I including tax😮! It costs 7.7k in my country without any opinional package&tax.

To me this is the M240 convertible
BMW should work on z8 now. Z4 is old
