- Australian Rod Laver (1938-), the Rockhampton Rocket, is best known for winning two calendar Grand Slams, in 1962 and 1969 (the only player to do so). He won an additional Australian and two additional Wimbledon singles titles, finishing with eleven Grand Slam singles titles and was the dominant player in the pros in the late 1960s.
