Excellent observations on the recording method and her singing quality. It always astounds me that Angelina takes such care in her approach in not only communicating but also expressing a song. Angelina has always conveyed, to me at least, the feeling of a lullaby being sung....meant just for the listener. The first written language converted expression into form. Angelina takes form and converts that into pure expression that resonates on an emotional level. Looking forward to so much more from this growing prodigious talent.
Egil Clausen, Angelina's main guitarist in Norway from when she was 7-12 yo, bobs his head to keep time, in fact some fans have given him the nickname "Bobblehead." This time he was really rockin' out, so when Angelina glanced over to him with his exaggerated bobbing, she broke out laughing. Just so you know!
She was 11 here. They moved to LA when she was 12 and her birthday is in January so…

@@kerrythomas6220Angelina was still living in Oslo when she turned 12, so Egil played for her from 7 to early 12, then they moved to LA where Ivan took over for the remainder of her 12th year. Not sure what your point was, but that may clear it up.

Grandma Mery records on her camcorder! Angelina is too busy reading the lyrics from her phone to notice what her grandma is looking at. Near the end Angelina sees that grandma is laughing, so she takes a quick glance to see Egil. She holds it together for a few seconds, then can't take it anymore. Egil comments that he is just rocking (his method of keeping time}..

Most likely, her grandma is recording this with a cell phone or camcorder off the sound in the room, like you said. But it sounds like her mic is fed into a speaker.
Nice reaction Boudy! Amazing what she can do with just a mic and her guitarist/partner Egil Clausen. This is raw and I love it. This particular video that many Angels have seen gave way to many giving Egil the nickname The Human Bobblehead! The way he gets in to and feel of the music...bobbing his head to the beat. As you saw, even Angelina thought it was funny and laughed!

Yeah this is a major flex. No doubt her laughing at Egil at the end changes the feel. But they could have put out the mix anyway, and chose not too, because they heard this and decided to show us how gorgeous that high soft raw voice is, I guess. Man that's insanely beautiful towards the end. 🥰🤩

You are basically correct about a bedroom cover. These videos with Egil or Ivan on guitar are just basically home recordings, not studio recordings. They are what they are, recorded with a video camera or possibly cell phone. No producer, engineer or post production tricks.

I hate to disagree with you about how the audio on this is being presented. But through my headphones I can definitely hear reverb on her voice as well as the guitar. So it is not a live unprocessed sound that we are hearing because there's definitely amplification and reverb on the guitar as well as her voice. She could simply be singing through an amplifier but Angelina does have recording, and amplification equipment in her home at that time. Whatever's going on her voice sounds absolutely beautiful. Even at 12 years old she is an absolute wonder. What a magnificent talent.

Every now and again I can see bits of her Japanese heritage come out. Here her bushy eyebrows and wide, flat cheekbones show. She mostly tries to fit into a Western standard of beauty, but I think she is prettiest when she lets her exotic parentage show. Regardless, she is absolutely the GOAT!

Egil is a family friend and has been doing jam sessions with Angelina from 7-12 years old while in Norway! They got together again last year while Angelina was in Jordan doing a private event! and again shortly after the release of her EP, doing a short of Diamond!
This is from Grandma Mery’s phone! This also is in a home studio! Egil at times made it his mission to try to get Angelina to break character. However, she usually kept in control until the end of songs, you will see it in other Behind The Scenes videos from Grandma Mery’s channel!

So much fun watching you watch this! Angelina, Egil, and Grandma on her phone -- a magical and fun combination, always. I love the spontaneity of these homemade videos. From what I've read, Angelina and Egil decide on songs without much planning, and she just tosses off a masterclass, often reading lyrics on her ipad while singing. One professional music producer said there were three artists he'd worked with who could get a recording in one take. Angelina was one of the three.
Grandma Mery is most likely running the camera.
12 year old Angelina with one of her many at home videos. Egil Claussen had played guitar for her since she was about 7 or 8 years old. Alan Papier, on his UA-cam channel, interviewed Egil and also Ivan Mendez who played guitar for Angelina in California, only in 2018, when she was 12. Both guitarists told the same story, of being invited to Angelina's home and socializing with them for hours before, late at night, Angelina would ask the guitarist, if he knew a song. If he did, then they started the video camera and in most cases did only one take. No practice.
What month in 2018 did they move to LA, does anyone know?

@@kerrythomas6220 My best guess that they didn't fully move to LA until Angelina was on AGT in late 2019. There is plenty of video of Angelina in Norway in 2018 and 2019.

As others have pointed out, we are hearing the ambient sound in the room, but her vocal was being piped through a speaker, with a little reverb added to it (same with the guitar). Almost all of her covers with Egil at around this same time were done that way, including the first few videos on her CoverChannel. After she started to record videos in L.A. with the other guitarist, Ivan (whom you have seen in the videos for "Million Years Ago" and "California Dreamin'"), they shifted to recording her voice directly from the mic (through the "line", or the "board", or however you want to put it), which resulted in a great leap forward in terms of audio quality. Still, if you're not bothered by the "karaoke-like" audio of her covers with Egil, a lot of them are really excellent. (Big surprise…)
As for the ending, a lot of people say she was laughing at how Egil was bobbing his head as he played. But that can't be the explanation, because she had seen him doing that for about 3½ years at that point (there's a video of her at 8 trying not to laugh out loud at Egil bobbing his head in exactly the same way as he accompanies her on "What a Difference a Day Makes"). Also, she had already glanced over in his direction a couple of times before, as the end of the song was nearing. My explanation is that she was expecting him to bring the song to a close after the last time she sang the final line (notice how she drew out the last word of that longer than she had before), but he "didn't get the memo" and was continuing to play the same licks, so she opened her mouth to sing the line again, but quickly realized it wasn't going to sound right and/or might be just as unsuccessful as her previous attempt to signal the ending of the song. So, in short, she was laughing at their inability to successfully bring the song to an end.

Word has it that her accompanist, Egil, flew out of Norway 2 days ago to the U.S. Speculation perhaps a few songs with Angelina in her performance in Vegas? By the way, what you missed is her finally noticing Egils exaggerated head bobbing in his " getting into it" mode!

yes, the video/audio was recorded on an iphone, Egil & AJ were plugged in, the monitor was ON, ambient recording of amplified sound in the attic, nuff said ;)
Brother, I think this was recorded at egil clausen's home studio. Could it be that her mike and his guitar were plugged into an amp or amps, then recorded on a phone? Also does you Playlist include her grandma Mery's youtube channel. Their are over 330 videos on it. That's about 6 1/2 years worth of Angelina Mondays. If you want to hear a better recording of Angelina with minimal or no processing, you should watch her one-take recording of a vocal for I'm A Fool To Want You, at age 11. Angelina's wonderful archive of recordings, made by her sweet family from an early age, is a true heritage of humanity, giving us the wonderful vision of how a fantastic music star is born and evolves. I love the simplicity and ease with which this girl manages to transform her passions and her feelings into beautiful music. Angelina is pure and fantastic talent, mixed with a wonderful musical sensibility and a unique maturity. She has always been the director of her songs, which she sings in the way she deems most suitable for the song. But even if she is very professional she doesn't miss the opportunity to have fun, like in this session. 💛🧡❤

Well, there is reverb, meaning the audio is coming through the mic and an amp or PA. Reverb is a form of “processing,” but you are correct that there is no compression or auto tune. Wait until you hear what she does in Las Vegas on February 29th… her “ leap year concert.”

Her audio was coming out of an amp, very low volume, but the recording was definitely through a phone. She was laughing at Egil, Mr Bobblehead, they way he bops his head while playing.😊
Boudy, I believe the sound of the voice is coming from the speakers, through the microphone. The reason for the final laugh: The guitarist Egil is feeling the music so badly, his head almost falls off his neck from bobbing over and over and spinning out the window, and Angelina can't take it, lost her focus and bursts out laughing at the end.
Thanks Boudy..... you have no idea just how many many of these recordings Angelina made, and oh so many recorded on a phone or a hand held camera with no microphone anywhere to be seen, just pure unadulterated, raw, no mix, no production and absolutely no Auto tune.... just pure Angelina vocals. Friend, in an interview with Alan Papier, Egil told, that to keep his pace on the guitar, he used his head moving. AJ saw this and in the end, she could not keep serious.

Yes, this is being recorded with a cell phone but I believe her mic is amped. However, since it isn't a direct inline recording we are hearing the acoustics of the room.
Her microphone isn't even plugged in.. (by the way she's still 11 here) 🙂

For example, her performance of "I will always love you" was probably recorded the same day as "Titanium". - both she and Egil are wearing the same clothes - but it was not uploaded to UA-cam until 14 Sep 2019.
@@alberttenfoot I will always love you was uploaded by fanclub Mozarts but is marked "2017" in the title. I guess both Titanium and IWALY was recorded then so Angelina was 11 after all..

Her "just sitting at home, singing because there's nothing better to do" cover of Zayn's "From Dusk Till Dawn" _is_ , I would say, arguably one of her greatest performances of all time.😁 ua-cam.com/video/cygBNEpoMuo/v-deo.html I mean, yeah, the sound and video quality aren't the greatest (she's singing over a karaoke version of the song, and I'm not even sure she knows she's being recorded), but the mismatch between the circumstances under which she is singing and the quality of what she's doing… it's just mind boggling.
