Boudy, thanks for your wonderful reaction to this beautiful, touching, respectful performance by Angelina Jordan. Boudy, I greatly respect your commentary about the choices Angelina made for this performance. As always, it is about the song and the occasion, for Angelina. I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.
Arab Man,I as a Norwegian,I have to congratulate you for your English,it's not very often that I hear someone speaking English in this way that make English so easy to understand, and on top of that, you have a very lovely and delicate voice that make it wonderful to listen to you,and because of that you are becoming my number one reaction channel
The speech Narges' children read at the ceremony was written by her, in which she denounced the regime and predicted it's downfall. Now she is about to go on trial again today (Tues) for her activities behind bars in Tehran's Evin prison.
For anyone that is unaware of the context and importance of this performance at this event. There are three things that make it particularly significant: She is Norwegian and Norway is the home of the Nobel Peace Prize; her grandmother is Iranian; and Unchained Melody was written about a prisoner longing to be reunited with a loved one. The honoree, Narges Mohammadi is in prison for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran. What is truly disturbing is that she was sentenced to a total of 31 years and 154 lashes. It must be especially heart wrenching for Angelina, given her Iranian heritage and her empathy for the disadvantaged and downtrodden. It is even harder on her two children, who are the same age as Angelina and received the award on behalf of their mother.
You are welcome. Many others have provided this information in one form or another, so I always check first. I think it is important to include it, if I don't see it there yet.@@ArabManReacts
Angelina seems to be singing on behalf of Narges Mohammadi herself to her son and daughter, who are in the audience. She is an incredible empath as well as a musical genius.
She became a part of the orchestra, the Solo instrument and the orchestra gave it back to her supporting her beautiful tone We are so proud of her to do it in this difficult way 🎉❤ congratulations 👏 Angelina and Kork
I happened across KORK's web page recently and noticed that it contained the following text: "Founded in 1946, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra is today regarded with a unique combination of respect and affection by its public. Its repertoire is exceptionally wide, ranging from baroque, classical and contemporary to jazz, pop and rock. It is comprised of highly talented classical instrumentalists, yet its musical philosophy has remained the same: versatility, a light-hearted approach, a curiosity for all kinds of music, and an unwillingness to pigeonhole musical styles." Unwillingness to pigeonhole? That's a perfect fit for Angelina.
She left me speechless… To add to the pressure, may I mention that this performance was televised around the world to an audience of over 350 million viewers. She is fearless.
Thank you for a wonderful reaction Boudy. The other aspect of this that others will surely discuss too, is the context of this performance - the Peace Prize laureate is currently imprisoned in Iran, because of her advocacy for women's and human rights. Her 2 children and husband, who haven't seen her for 9 years, were interviewed before the music started. This performance was done with such delicacy and respect for Narges Mohammadi and her family. It's just an achingly beautiful, appropriate, and moving arrangement and performance.
She got very comfortable taking risks long ago. You can see how immune she is to risk in her face on many live performances when she was young. On live TV on the rooftop and many others.
My favorite moment in this performance is the choice that she made on the first sustained falsetto note where she comes in on the "to me..." and the orchestra drops out for about 4 seconds and just lets that note breathe and soar and then comes in perfectly in harmony with her voice. That just created a rare perfect moment of peace and emotion. Great reaction.
She looks like if she is royalty. This is the first time I had tears rolling down my face. I can’t imagine being there in person, sitting in front of her, listening to her sing this song. Breathtaking!
Best rendition since Bobby Hatfield, who also performed live with an orchestra. I heard AJ perform Unchained in Portsmouth, and this is even better. Sensational reaction, Boudy. And you're right, Boudy. AJ is performing on live TV with one of the best orchestras on the planet, singing in a 3 octave range. The more the pressure, the better she performs.
To me this is the embodiment of Divine Grace in sound. My only analogy, would be, to the likes of Maria Callas, The stature, the elegance, the enrapturing beauty. We all are blessed with the privilege of witnessing this history of Ms. Jordan's transformative artistry. Rb
The KORK orchestra and Angelina are no strangers to each other: there are a few video's on UA-cam where they perform together in the past. Did you notice that at the end Angelina was conducting the conductor and the conductor the orchestra? To me that is only possible when you trust each other completely. You have to see this to believe that a 17 year old (so easy to forget that...) can perform at this level....
This performance is epic and will be a nexus point in musical history. With this performance Ms. Jordan has solidify her position in the halls of all the great musical legends of musical history. Rb
This must be special for her in the sense that the Nobel Peace Prized is awarded in Oslo, Angelina's home town, to an Iranian. Angelina"s grandmother is from Iran where she was an artist and is now Angelina's musical inspiration.
The other thing that makes Angelina perfectly suited for this event is that she shares her Iranian heritage from her grandmother with the recipient of the Peace Prize.
Speaking of confidence; as she was going into the crescendo at the end, she seemed to show a brief knowing smile that she had it down pat. She has performed this song since age nine, so there was no chance that she would miss hitting those notes perfectly.
I have been following Angelina since March 2014 and thought I had seen every video she had out there until recently. About 3 weeks ago I saw the video for the first time of her doing this song at 8 with Igil Clausen playing guitar! So her fantastic (short) performance at 9 on the Lindmo TV show was not the first! Maybe the first public performance but not the first performance!
She's not wearing the blue contact lenses she's worn in recent years, probably to reflect her Iranian roots through her grandmother, Mery Zamani. Her natural eye color is dark, even black. Beautiful eyes. Her father is Swedish and her mother is half Persian-Japanese. But she was born and raised in Oslo, Norway.
Thank you for a great reaction and comment. Angelina gave an outstanding performance. By expressing her empathy and compassion for the awardee's two youngsters at the same age as Angelina, she made this song more than a beautiful piece with high notes. The Norwegian radio orchestra lifted the entire setting to an extraordinary experience - this orchestra suits so well with Angelina.
You sir have described in detail what a perfectionist Angelina Jordan is and has been when performing at special events. She has performed with the Norwegian Kork Orchestra, in the past when Angelina sang "Summertime" and other classic recordings. On a personal note; Angelina looks like a beautiful Angel wearing a White evening dress with diamonds in her hair, floating on a cloud and her voice piercing the emotional hearts in the audience. The Peace Prize organizer knew of Angelina's compassion to bring awareness to children and women's human rights around the world.
Dude, you are to reactors what Angelina Jordan is to singers. I always look forward to AJ mondays thanks to you. Bravo on your performance. As for our little girl, now 17, I've listened to this performance 31 times so far, and I've cried each and every time. That is my finest compliment. Peace.
At the very end, right after the applause, Angelina pats her chest saying, I think, in essence, "Thank you, you are in my heart". I believe I can safely say she is in all our hearts too. This performance , this lovely angel, were beyond beautiful. Thank you for sharing your appreciation.
This is not a pice of music, it's an extremely important poiltical and humanitarian message. Angelina represents all the women in Iran that is not permitted to lift their voice. BRAVO. She shows the world their talent, class, intelligens and braveness. The nobel peace consert is played all over the world, and I'm proud of being a norwegian because I know that this preformanse is chosen to support and lift up the suffering women under extreme islamic oppression. ❤❤❤
This performance and the choice of song were as fitting as Angelina is with the Nobel Peace prize. There is melancholy for the separation of Narges Mohammed from her family. Angelina does not smile very much and ends humbly. She does not make this about her! That is hard given the otherworldly talent she has and displays. You cannot separate this performance from the reason she is there- the tribute.
Angelina Jordan's voice is an instrument that melds perfectly with every other instrument in the orchestra, or band, or solo accompaniment - it doesn't matter. When I think of a fellow Norwegian vocalist Sissel (a treasure), Sissel's voice is so clear and strong that it leads the orchestra. But Angelina is steeped in a jazz tradition that she becomes the vocal instrument. She is totally amazing.
Belting out a song, letting it all out and going loud are the easiest and the most safe thing to do on a song when you know you're highly capable. But for her to keep it all in and delicately carrying those fragile notes to match the occasion that night is something no other artists would do on their right mind. But Angelina is a trooper and she highly understand how the music works and when she stands out and when to blend.
FYI, If you think of this song as a Woman singing from a jail sell over looking the river flowing into the sea.. .It will bring tears to your eyes, considering who the Peace Prize is for this year... And this song also appeared in a movie, with the similar premise.
The fact that she knows the origin of the song, which was from a film of a man who was jailed and was singing this to the person he loved and missed. Now she is dedicating to the family of a lady who has been imprisoned for her dedication to freeing women in Iran, she has already been in prison for more than 16 years. Her husband and her twin children a boy and a girl are in the the audience who now live in Paris, the interview with them were heartbreaking. She has such an understanding of life for such a young lady. Also more meaningful is the fact that her grandmother was born in Iran. What a precious and special human being Angelina is. I love and admire her so much.
She first performed for the Nobel Peace Prize concert when she was 8 years old in 2014. She is one of a few performers (ex. Kylie Minogue, Sinead O'Connor, Wyclef Jean) who have been asked to come back to perform for them. What a prestigious honor to sing for such an event!
You need to hear her sing that last note when she performed this song at age 9. Mind blowing! Sadly, she apparently had to skip a whole section of the song this time because of time constraints. Even so, I still think this performance is much better than the one at Portsmouth, which those who were there said it was the best song of the night and won a standing ovation. Narges’s twin daughters, also age 17, were there to receive their mother’s award. Angelina putting her hand over her heart at the end was saying, “I love you!” BTW, this is the second time Angelina was asked to perform for a Nobel Peace Prize performance and the only one thus far to receive this honor. She was eight years old the first time, singing outdoors on a bitterly cold day in her little white dress.
It will be the force of Ms. Jordan's persona and message, as well as her passion and dedication to her artistry, that will make Ms. Angelina Jordan's name synonymous with greatness. Rb
Shout out to the videographer super-angel Boris Palenovski who has documented so many great Angelina performances. You talk about the healing power of Angelina's voice, Boris is a living breathing testament to that power. As he described in the latest and wonderful Wrapped in a Warm Blanket podcast her voice cured him of serious depression and anxiety.
I liked your analysis of that final note. I hadn’t thought of it that way, but I think you got it right. We know the note is coming, the orchestra shuts down, and we’re on edge-even though Angelina never lets us down. On her decision for that final crescendo: I think Angelina is a very rare combination of a genuinely humble person who is nevertheless confident in her abilities. She knows what she can do. The pressure of the moment, whether it’s AGT Champions or the Nobel Peace Prize, is mitigated because of her confidence in herself. And, not coincidentally, that’s the message she gives us in many of her original songs. Her message of self-empowerment is on full display here.
Boudy, you are always so ON POINT with your comments. I was going to ask you about a comment Angelina made on Instagram TO the orchestra. I’m paraphrasing, but in effect she said “…thank you for trusting me.” I assume (and was hoping for verification) that it was as you said… she was being trusted to play her part as one of the most important “instruments” in the orchestra and true to form, in her humble way she deeply appreciated the trust that was extended to her. Wonderful reaction and analysis. I absolutely LOVED that you connected Angelina’s “mission statement” to that of the Nobel Peace prize. ☮️💜
I was truly blown away by this outstanding perfomance of Angelina and KORK orchestra ❤ They have played together 2 or 3 times since Angelina was a little girl. The whole performance, arrangement of the song Angelina's heartfelt and emotional delivery really honoured Narges with sincere respect and empathy towards her cause and specially directed to her children and husband who were there. You and I and everyone who watches this unique event will feel they have witnessed a special musical piece. I'm sure Angel8na played a huge part in the arrangement as only she can do, singing from her heart to the listeners' heart.
Such a warm reaction! Angelina Jordan was truly angelic in this performance. So gentle and yet supremely expressive. Your heart can not escape the beauty of this moment and yet you must reflect on the struggle of Narges Mohammadi separated from her loved ones. Love and kindness MUST ultimately prevail in this world. Take care. ❤
She brings such depth and emotion to this song that it takes your breath away. I don't think you can sing this song better than Angelina and she is so beautiful that she looks like a Greek goddess
AMR - I enjoy your reactions so much because I believe you are one of few reactors/professionals that actually "gets" Angelina and her talent, capabilities, accomplishments, and approach to her artistry. Thanks for your great and considered reactions.
As much as I love what Angelina does, after listening to you I away come always with an even deeper appreciation of her music because of the knowledge you generously share with us 🙏 thanks again
Just listened to your reaction to this song for the 2nd time and I agree with you on every point , but Angelina has proven to have the capability to be at her best in the biggest moments, and she really shines with a orchestra
Best Monday with AMR so far. For all the details you enumerated. Angelina has the greatest potential with all the professional talent and wisdom a seasoned artist could only wish for. How is it all possible? Like you said in your retrospective,” reminds us of the boundless potential in every one of us.”😊❤❤❤ Without a 😊❤❤❤doubt having such wisdom and love and support from Sara and Mery and her family allowed her to foster her potential comfortably.
Boudy, a terrific reaction as always. I learn something every time I watch your channel. Along with the beauty of this song, its intent, and the brave woman being honored... Angelina's appearance and bearing is like a Queen of Persia reaching out in love to a suffering subject. I tear-up every time I watch this performance. Mae alsalama.
I saw her perform this at Portsmouth and was sure it couldn't be sung better. Once again Angelina does something that is so beautiful it just breaks me. I still can't stop my tears. Anyone who doesn't think this young lady has the most beautiful voice on the planet has ice in their chest. I really can't wait until she starts to get nominated for Grammys. She is going to need a Uhaul to take them home. I hope so anyway. I really like watching your Angelina reaction videos. Your love and admiration really shows. I also enjoyed the retrospective video and the Wrapped In A Warm Blanket podcast.
I don't have the answer you are looking for Boudy (this took my breath away) ...my impression, just given the nuances and inflections she added to this performance was Angelina on the fly, feeling the music, respecting the music and song (perfect choice BTW, knowing the history of this song) and doing what she does, Angelinaizing this beautiful composition. Just my opinion, nobody really knows but Angelina and what goes on in that beautiful musical mind she possesses... Hope you have a wonderful Holiday season and BTW, some of the songs from the Christmas EP are available in video from the Christmas concert couple years ago. They have been uploaded here: www.youtube.com/@angelinajordanarchives. You always put a smile on my face and joy in my heart with your reactions. 🥰🥰🎄🎄🎄🎄🥰🥰
PARA MI ..... ANGELINA JORDAN ..... ES UNA DE LAS VOCES FEMENINAS ..... MAS HERMOZAS DEL MUNDO ...... CON UNA SEGURIDAD Y UNA CALIDAD QUE SUPERA TODO LO CONOCIDO ...... SIMPLEMENTE ...... " INCREIBLE " ......
There are other performances of this song that I absolutely adore. What I love about this performance is that I don't feel compelled to choose a favorite among them. Angelina has a way of interpreting a song such that it becomes completely unique unto her, a new composition, a new creation, thereby leaving space for other artists.
Great reaction! Angelina has been performing this song since she was 9 years old. Recently she sang this at her US concert in New Hampshire, on that occasion a powerful unconstrained rendition, perhaps in preparation for this event. Angelina visited Oslo recently and had meeting with Kork.. She first played with the orchestra, in this very room, back in 2016, she sang Summertime. I recognise some of the musicians from back then. As you say, this very delicate rendition was in tune with the event, blending so well with the music. This year has been a real flurry of activity, in three weeks she will turn 18. The world will have this fantastic artist unleashed in the media and concerts is many countries, it will be all very exciting!
This is ART. The legacy of the Norwegian peace price is to fight for peace and democracy for all- even when it is very hard. Angelina portrays the sad feelings of the winner and her children, BRAVA!
This is pretty much the same as her performance at the Portsmouth, NH concert and my thought then when she hit the last note was that it took a incredibly brave singer to even attempt that. It would have been so easy to have cracked or gone off key there and destroyed the whole performance, and yet she just plowed through it. In hind sight and after seeing this performance, she obviously had no concern that she was reaching her limit there, because it was well within her limit. She must have more in the tank and we will continue to be astonished in the future when her apparent "limit" is again exceeded.
Angelina sang with an orchestra at age 10 or 11, when she did "It's a Man's World" and "Diamonds are Forever" . Then with this very orchestra when she did "Back to Black"......so she is an old pro already. I tear up as soon as she starts . She puts her heart into everything she does. ❤❤
This is the second time Angelina has been invited to appear at a Noble Peace concert, the first time was in December 2014,also the Norwegian kork orchestra Angelina has performed with on several occasions, one being Angelina’s arrangement of Back to Black, when Angelina was 10 years old, and again with her cover of Summertime, A phenomenal performance of Unchained Melody from Angelina she is so special a gift to all of us, great reaction thanks 🙏
Someone once said that AJ sees herself as one of the instruments, and that she sings accordingly. Her opening note was the most beautiful things I have ever heard - her voice emerged from the last note played by the orchestra, a thing of absolute beauty
As befitting an artist grounded in jazz. I remember hearing that was one of the goals, or thoughts while singing perhaps, of THE original jazz vocalist, Louis Armstrong.
Angelina Jordan sings this as though she has put herself in the shoes of a mother who might pine for her twins and husband while she is imprisoned for standing up FOR humans. Angelina's delicate touch with this song makes it like a mother's longing, two children's painful missing of their mother, and perhaps also, a husband's missing of his wife, even as he and the children live in exile from the country that has imprisoned their mother/wife. It is delicate and tender to the story of the Peace Prize received by twins whose mother has not seen them grow to the age they are. And the tender treatment of this song is intended for us, too. She sings of the world's need, humanity's need for our love to rise up and take compassion-motivated action. This interpretation of the song certainly suits the occasion and the orchestra. It reachers our hearts, and she ends with that high range to awaken our third eyes as well as our hearts. Yes, she sings at the very edge and is shivering to express her empathy and draw out our own. Angelina is one courageous vocalist. I love that she knows how to interpret a song to the true heart in a momentous occasion. Oh, Lord, I either wax long or stand in silence in the face of this performance. No in between. Thank you, Boudy, for your insightful reaction, and for the trouble you take in the sharing of it. Grandma Ellen, wishing you Bright blessings in this Winter Solstice week.
Angelina has sung with Kork Orchestra since she was very young. When she was still in Norway so they know one another very well. She is the only singer to have been chosen to sing twice at the Nobel. peace prize when she was 8 years old she also was chosen to sing at that Nobel Peace prize. She is from Norway and that is where the prize is given. She looked absolutely beautiful. So VERY proud of her I have been following her for a long time. Blessings from a 77 year old gran from South Africa.
The last note was the " Tightrope Over Niagara Falls " moment... it can only be done right... Nothing else is possible.... and she Nailed it, l`m so proud of her.
I have watched a number of reactions to this beautiful rendition and I have to say that I have most thoroughly enjoyed yours. Your wonder and joy and insightful observations were such a pleasure to behold. Thank you for making me feel like I was watching it for the first time again.
YES!!! To know that the wind exists, we look at the way the leaves of trees dance as it blows. One way to know that God exists, is to consider how our hearts are aching... and dancing...and bursting ...and soothed... as we experience the heavenly sounds that flow out of Angelina, His creation - to say nothing of experiencing her heart and soul.
Boudy, Angelina thanked the orchestra leader for trusting her and allowing her to rearrange the score and vocals for this performance. I forget how many months back, 2 or 3, it was reported that Angelina met with KORK in Norway and it was a rehearsal type meeting.. don't forget Angelina has a very long history with KORK.
Angelina has not done an Album with KORK (at least yet) - you are thinking about the Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps, military band, and the Album - It's Magic.
Great reaction Boudy! She really is something else. 😍 Her ability to move those who listen to her is absolutely incredible. What a fascinating and intimate interpretation of this mithical song, absolutely suitable for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way, this wonderful version of a fantastic song and so appropriate to the occasion, 8 years after the last time, in the same studios and with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps into her musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", a singer who has already sung on 2 different occasions at the Nobel Prizes and at just 17 years old.💛🧡❤
Hello Boudy. I've been waiting for your reactions to Angelina for some time now. With Angelina there is always a little more emotion than with the others. Well with this song it's not surprising. And I realized that the song evokes a lot of emotions. Then the fact that you or your parents come from this circle of nations, including Angelina's grandma. And so it's not surprising that you, Angelina and the children from Narges Mohammadi were there and listened to the music. And you spoke such great words that touch the heart. Boudy, sometimes it seems to me that Angelina makes you feel like a father. Your eyes light up and your whole facial expression becomes really “fatherly”!
Norways National treasure should be designated a world treasure! Can you imagine what she will do in the coming years! I,ve never been a big fan of any artist but AJ has captured my heart.
Boudy, soo glad to see you on this. This is the EPITOME of a MASTERCLASS performance on all levels, Grace, class, instrumentals and of course Angelina's vocal tour-de- force performance. I've seen this at least 30 times and am moved to tears everytime!
GREAT reaction, Boudy buddy! Top notch breakdown as always, and thanks for really letting us understand the sheer risk Angelina took when she chose to do those end notes. Like you said, it doesn't really matter HOW confident you are in your own abilities, the pressure in a setting like this could make even a diamond tremble. But not break, we all know that. And Angelina is a diamond. I guess that's why she went for it. Trembling only makes for an even more beautiful vibrato😊 But seriously, the NERVE this 17 year old girl has.... OMG. No wonder I call her the future G.O.A.T. Have a wonderful Christmas 🥰 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
I have enjoyed.your reaction to this performance more than 10 times. What a class act from start to finish! She has confidence and conviction in doing the arrangement and singing with the orchestra as she does but that is not sufficient for the closing notes. That took COURAGE, bone chilling courage to do it. I think she chose that courageous act to reflect the courage of the person this performance was honoring.
Great reaction. She has performed with KORK a couple times in the past at age 10, Summertime is something if you haven't watched, I recommend. Angelina in Portsmouth NH performed this song also but it seemed longer and had a different take because of the circumstances. She is a master with her voice.
Andy you beautiful human! ❤️ thank youuuuuuuuuu this is amazing for anyone to read, going to Pin it.

Andy, thanks for this outstanding background.
Man, every time, I remember that 7 yo saying she wanted to be a star. And hearing her announced as “International star”, warms the heart.
For anyone that is unaware of the context and importance of this performance at this event. that’s right
Well said.. TY.
Thanks for this important information!🤗💞
Pinning this for everyone’s benefit. Thank you for taking the time to write it! ❤️❤️🙏🏻
Angelina said she was so honored that KORK agreed to use her arraignment for this performance.. PURE CLASS !!!
She became a part of the orchestra, the Solo instrument and the orchestra gave it back to her supporting her beautiful tone
We are so proud of her to do it in this difficult way 🎉❤ congratulations 👏 Angelina and Kork
I happened across KORK's web page recently and noticed that it contained the following text:
"Founded in 1946, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra is today regarded with a unique combination of respect and affection by its public. Its repertoire is exceptionally wide, ranging from baroque, classical and contemporary to jazz, pop and rock. It is comprised of highly talented classical instrumentalists, yet its musical philosophy has remained the same: versatility, a light-hearted approach, a curiosity for all kinds of music, and an unwillingness to pigeonhole musical styles."
Unwillingness to pigeonhole? That's a perfect fit for Angelina.
Nice catch, Gary. Explains at least part of why Angelina and this particular group are so simpatico.
She left me speechless…
To add to the pressure, may I mention that this performance was televised around the world to an audience of over 350 million viewers. She is fearless.
in 100 countries
She always was fearless, probably one of her best qualities.
I think she would be a great Nobel ambassador to the World!!!
I cry every time I hear her sing this song. The emotion of the song knowing who she’s singing too. She does such a beautiful job. Bless you AJ ❤️
"She is" Just as we are, she is. In a world that needs change, we have a "World changer" and for those who understand, we thank God.
Steve! It’s heartbreaking 💔
Fully agree!
She looks like if she is royalty. This is the first time I had tears rolling down my face. I can’t imagine being there in person, sitting in front of her, listening to her sing this song. Breathtaking!
What a beautiful moment 🥹❤️❤️❤️
She is an Iranian princess, a.k.a. a Persian princess!
Angelina is the most fearless artist I've ever seen, and she's been that way for many years.
Rb
When driving I switch between Angelina and Maria Callas, I never tire of it.
@@timmackey2896 My good Sir, you have very good taste in music. I think it runs in the community. Rb
She is fearless about her ability to deliver that emotional deliver every time.
I believe Narges Mohammadi was in Angelina's heart and soul while singing this song. you could just feel it.
👍🏻👍🏻
Boudy, Angelina went full on goddess mode with this performance. I think this is the new beginning.
Dude, you are to reactors what Angelina Jordan is to singers. I always look forward to AJ mondays thanks to you. Bravo on your performance. As for our little girl, now 17, I've listened to this performance 31 times so far, and I've cried each and every time. That is my finest compliment. Peace.
LOVE YOU!❤️ Your words are too kind. I hope one day I can be that, and my what a blessing it would be. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙆🏻♂️
At the very end, right after the applause, Angelina pats her chest saying, I think, in essence, "Thank you, you are in my heart". I believe I can safely say she is in all our hearts too. This performance , this lovely angel, were beyond beautiful. Thank you for sharing your appreciation.
I think that the second time she touch her heart it was intended to the children of Narges Mohammadi.
@@meretebogen8778Well said sir 🙏
This performance and the choice of song were as fitting as Angelina is with the Nobel Peace prize. There is melancholy for the separation of Narges Mohammed from her family. Angelina does not smile very much and ends humbly. She does not make this about her! That is hard given the otherworldly talent she has and displays. You cannot separate this performance from the reason she is there- the tribute.
Pretty sure her hand over her heart at the end as she looks right is directed toward Narges' children.
ABSOLUTELY!!! Very well said! ❤️❤️❤️
You are one of the few who can talk so beautifully about music, especially the music of Angelina Jordan.
Greetings from Poland😀😀😀😀😀
Love to you from Beirut! ❤️
FYI, If you think of this song as a Woman singing from a jail sell over looking the river flowing into the sea.. .It will bring tears to your eyes, considering who the Peace Prize is for this year... And this song also appeared in a movie, with the similar premise.
From what I understand, the entire arrangement was done by Angelina. After the performance she thanked the orchestra for going along with her idea
Wow, what a performance by our angel. And what a profound reaction by Boudy.
Can I just say that your reaction was as delicate and precious as Angelina’s performance? Thank you, this was a delight ❤
Yiiii ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@ArabManReactsyes, that is you so much! Respectful, honoring, delicate, and strong. Thank you!
So true.. you're so good in your profession.. btw.. AJ is so beautiful.. but I hv to say that you're good looking as well.. 💐
She was belting over an orchestra when she was 10-11. She is a an absolute master.
Boudy, you are always so ON POINT with your comments. I was going to ask you about a comment Angelina made on Instagram TO the orchestra. I’m paraphrasing, but in effect she said “…thank you for trusting me.”
I assume (and was hoping for verification) that it was as you said… she was being trusted to play her part as one of the most important “instruments” in the orchestra and true to form, in her humble way she deeply appreciated the trust that was extended to her.
Wonderful reaction and analysis. I absolutely LOVED that you connected Angelina’s “mission statement” to that of the Nobel Peace prize. ☮️💜
Yiii ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great reaction! Yes, so delicate befitting the occasion, and that stunning ending! Had me in tears..
Angelina's voice is just another instrument in this arrangement. She doesn't need to steal the stage. She just wants to make beautiful music. 😎
This was a intentionally restrained performance befitting the occasion .amazing performance ❤
AMR - I enjoy your reactions so much because I believe you are one of few reactors/professionals that actually "gets" Angelina and her talent, capabilities, accomplishments, and approach to her artistry. Thanks for your great and considered reactions.
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Pure class flying home to LA on private jet, deserves it!!!
No doubt that is what it sounds like when an angel sings in heaven! Great reaction, thanks so much.
Best Monday with AMR so far. For all the details you enumerated. Angelina has the greatest potential with all the professional talent and wisdom a seasoned artist could only wish for.
How is it all possible? Like you said in your retrospective,” reminds us of the boundless potential in every one of us.”😊❤❤❤
Without a 😊❤❤❤doubt having such wisdom and love and support from Sara and Mery and her family allowed her to foster her potential comfortably.
Carl!! Lifesaver thank you! Have A BEAUTIFUL Christmas ❤️❤️❤️
PARA MI ..... ANGELINA JORDAN ..... ES UNA DE LAS VOCES FEMENINAS ..... MAS HERMOZAS DEL MUNDO ...... CON UNA SEGURIDAD Y UNA CALIDAD QUE SUPERA TODO LO CONOCIDO ...... SIMPLEMENTE ...... " INCREIBLE " ......
Yes! She is on that list of greatest female vocalists ever. The older she gets the higher she rises on that list.
She can literally reach through and touch my heart, an actual physical touch.
Best ever and I remember when it was new.
There are other performances of this song that I absolutely adore. What I love about this performance is that I don't feel compelled to choose a favorite among them. Angelina has a way of interpreting a song such that it becomes completely unique unto her, a new composition, a new creation, thereby leaving space for other artists.
Together with Angelina you have made my day. Thanks.
A perfect performance for a great cause.
Part of the 2nd verse is missing from this performance. Did you not notice that?
❤ This is the very best version of this beautiful song I've ever heard. AMAZING 🎉😊
Profoundly magically brilliant reaction to an all time epic that will stand the test of time eternally.
This performance gave me goosebumps and made me smile, and also made me emotional ❤️ So proud of AJ. She is awesome 👍
👍❤
I love how the orchestra was low when AJs voice was low. Beautiful❤🎶❤🎶❤
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
she sang heavenly ❤
I'm not religious. But if someone who is were looking for proof God exists they need only point to Angelina.
Her gift is indescribable.
Angelina must have an enormous lung capacity
there's many excelent performances of this song , but how angelina conveys the emotion is unmatched .❤
On social media Angelina thanked the orchestra for trusting her arrangement..
An album?
Angelina has not done an Album with KORK (at least yet) - you are thinking about the Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps, military band, and the Album - It's Magic.
@@robertsilva631 your right
@@robertsilva631 I don't think Kristen was thinking about the past when he linked Angelina's work meeting with KORK in August 2023 to an album. 😉

Great reaction Boudy! She really is something else. 😍
Her ability to move those who listen to her is absolutely incredible.
❤ you provide the garnish with your comments Boudy. Thanks a bunch. 😊🙏🏽

Angelina has a beautiful mesmerizing voice, i love listening to her.
In a comment to the director she actually thanked him for trusting her to make the arrangement for this event 😮❤️
Thankyou Boudy for always recognizing Angelina’s amazing Humanness along with her amazing vocals. Thankyou ❤
