Honestly, this movie would've been better if it was just a racing/sports drama with Mach 5 and rival cars being an only "special effect" thing... just like original show. They did the exact opposite.
@@_space_cat_ Nah , it wouldn't be as memorable or largely remembered fondly by those who saw it , i see it more as wachowski's wanting to take Speed racer (a franchise they're passionate about) and bring it to it's fullest potential.

I still strongly dislike the Mach 6 (yes, six). Every time there is a reboot, someone feels the old Mach 5 is ”outdated”, and needs a facelift. Mach GoGoGo Restart was a good re-designed Mach 5, but all the other re-incarnations bugged me. As for the film, it just burned through the entire lore...the GRX and the Mammoth Car were footnotes--blink and you'd miss them. Whereas I can see updating the Starship Enterprise from TOS to TMP, the older design still holds on CGI/modern TV's with a little more texture and detail, unlike the JJA-verse Enterprise from 2009.
原作のOPは昭和42年とは思えないほどの斬新な映像でした。劇場版の映像も、それを丁寧にリスペクトしてしているため、編集しても原作に近い雰囲気がだせたのだと思います。
オリジナル曲を使ってくれる所好き。
映画の興行は振るいませんでしたが、オリジナルに対するリスペクトは目を見張るものがあります。曲にあわせてみたら、ことのほかマッチした次第です。この頃のアニメは心揺さぶる作品が多いですね！
この原作アニメから数年後、日本の乗用車にもスカイラインGTRやトヨタ2000GT等、
本格的にレースを勝ち進める車が続出しました。

リアル路線に振らずに、楽しめるモノに仕立ててある点に一票。

最後熱くなる感じなんだよね〜
新型の6号を見たとき、デザイン的には悪くないとは思いました。ただ主人公の名前を含めて「5」である必要はあったと思います。新作アニメのデザインもいいですよね。主題歌も速水 けんたろうさんが同じ曲を歌っていたのがGoodです。

この映画フツーにおもろくて結構好き
「リボンの騎士」とセットでテレビ放映していた。「リボンの騎士」は好きとは言えない雰囲気があった。LGBTでSMで恋愛もので、ほかにもいろんなタブーに触れていて危険だった。隠された意味として。
それに比べて「マッハGo！Go！Go！」ときたら、本当に子供向けだった。
あの頃の子供が憧れる車とレーサー、東京、外国。所作が気障な感じだったけどそこがまた受けた。
