I like how on literally every difficulty level, the first fishing pole literally does more damage *before* you gain any skills, perks or enchantments then the steel sword, with a faster attack speed and more reach. And that it's the only weapon in the game with a proper thrusting animation not part if a kill cam. In my opinion it`s easier to optain the snowberries and blue butterfly-wings for the fortify enchantment potion. You can pick up the snowberries in Dawnstar next to the houses and catch some blue butterflies next to Rifton and Riverwood. Spriggan Sap and the Hargraven-claws are also options, but the snowberries are real free estate.

I remember watching a small streamer years back (i think 2013/14?) playing through Skyrim with a garden hoe as their only weapon. It was modded so that it had a decent base damage value & could be enchanted too. Nice chill stream, maybe 100 or so people in chat, had a laugh & made some friends. Was a good time.
starts the video with "i'm not just gonna fortify restoration loop everything" then continues to do xactly that. damnit spiff this whole making a new skyrim video every month thing better be an elaborate algorythm exploit cuz they are getting old xD
I'm not mad about it or anything, but yeah, it's disappointing when there's a Skyrim video and whatever thing is being done is via the restoration loop. This isn't specific to Spiff. Any Skyrim video by anyone in which it's restoration loop dependent is likely to be disappointing. In this case, it was especially disappointing because so much of the video was explaining the loop again. At this point, he could just devote less than half a minute to the loop, and it would not only be fine, but he could hype up past videos it was covered in.
Fortify restro loop is the foundation of all combat exploits though, and that’s what all these Skyrim videos have been about. I don’t blame him though, as combat exploits are the easiest to make a video on consistently. I would love to see Spiff do a Skyrim video (or 2 ep series?) where he does an older, pre-horse-clipping speedrun (more cheese, slightly less RNG, no barrier to entry, more entertaining to watch). It would take more time then usual to record, voice over, and edit, but he could narrate his learning and improvement process over, say, a week’s time. It would be MARVELOUS. I don’t know if Spiff could see success on such a video, or keep viewer retention if it’s 2 parts, as he’s not done a speedrun-focused video (I’ve been watching since early 2016 so please correct me if I’m wrong!). This idea for a video may not interest his audience, thus not be worth his time considering. Which is fine ofc. I know and have seen all the exploits in all his Skyrim videos so far, but it’s his unique charisma and commentary style that make these great to watch. Other games and the occasional real-world topic are what brought me here and keep me a fan, though!
the spiffing brit could be a God if he wanted to, *A GOD OF EXPLOITS*, he is only rivaled by the queen, who is using every extra life exploit ever made
Wonderful, I love it when I watch a few of my favorite videos in spiff's back catalogue and then come to my subscriptions and find he's made a brand-new one... It's like he knows.

@@Takayama-sama I discovered it by accident on my first playthrough when i realized my chaos enchant was basically lasting forever. You gotta use alteration for paralysis enchants and I assume conjuration for soul trap. No idea about flaming soul trap.
I absolutely love the craziness of Alchemy loops. I almost can't play Skyrim any other way.
My day always gets better when I see Spiff put up another skyrim video. Oh Todd, you've made the greatest gift that just keeps on giving. I just hope to see the return of Reanu Keeves and Hodd Toward!
What is he Hodding Toward?
We didnt get hordon gamsy though...
He didnt apply the rule
@@namename3130 Bruh. It's cause he doesn't have that yorkshire tea sponsorship yet.
19:11 I don't think that running fast is gonna save Gordon from that arrow in his neck.
I've watched you escape Helgen more times than I myself have escaped Helgen. Thank you for your content. You're a light at the end of a dark day for me :)
The fishing rod spontaneously clipping through the world at the end was a literal Chef's Kiss
'Mum said that playing with fishing rods could take my eye out. But mine'll take more than your eye out.'
The fact that all of these tricks still exist in the Anniversary edition is insane to me. You think they'd take out the hidden chests and loops
Why? It makes the game more fun
Exploits are quintessential to every Bethesda game.
They could sell the game again with a few crappy mods made by the community for slavery wages.
OR
They could fix their game.
One option generates maximum profit minimum effort. The other requires them to care. At this stage even the most ardent Bethesda fan can't possibly still believe the company *_cares._*
At this point they are quite truly features, not bugs.
@Bearded Bear continuing to scream lies about them paying modders is just sad at this point. Pay the modders, you commie
This man is a genius... he gets us to watch so many skyrim videos and realistically you could watch one of them and know what will happen in the rest. Step one: Know the Resto loop. Step two: profit. In all seriousness though love the videos. I love that voice so much I would watch you narrate someone watching paint dry.
I do wish there was a little less alchemy loops and a little more actually beating Skyrim with funny handicaps. I don't know if I've ever seen him do a story quest beyond fighting the very first dragon lol.
My favourite use for the restoration loop is making a single 4 effect potions that instantly level your alchemy skill up to 100 from 15 for infinite experience.
" Hey why are you sitting on that rock? "
" Watch this..."
" Is that guy currently removing five swords from that guy's pocket?"
" Yes."
" Why doesn't he notice? "
" I don't know? "
so i have a story for this, My friend the other day said "They added fishing poles and they look like swords, so what if I played the entire game like this". well me being the great friend and best sellout i told him about "The Spiffing Brit" and just so happen a few days later I see this, so thank you.
"As we convince her to buy her own goods off of herself."
- The Spiffing Brit - charisma level 100 reached
im still trying to figure out how to do this lmao
The nobleman could feel your power levels and knew he was in no real danger all along.
Fun fact: the group of bards known in our reality as "Dragonforce" once penned a song telling of Gordon Ramsay's battle against the sky fish.
Thumbnail: Fishing rod only!
Me: You have my attention.
Gordon Ramsay vs Reanu Keeves. Who would win?
"What are you?" -Gordon Ramsay.
I though this was click *bait* but you really *hooked* me in with the fishing puns 🙃
that was so wormy....
you got me hook, line and sinker with that pun
4:48 I love how he doesn't care that he's still crouching and continues to beat the living shit out of the fisherman..
Spif, you make it very difficult to enjoy beverages without involuntary urges to spew them out in fits of laughter.
I love how giddy with excitement Spiff is for this video. And it is truly amazing
The fishing rod had received enlightenment from being used by the wielder of Hells Own Kitchen and became so powerful that nothing of the world of Skyrim can contain it. It has moved on to the next dimension outside of Skyrim. Good Lord, we can only pray it doesn't reach the real world, else all the other creations of Spiff will have direct access to our world, including Reanu Keeves
Are you.. really UA-cam comment section backseating Spiff? on a video made purely, for the laughs? Its not a guide. damn.. you one of those "ACTUALY..." huh? XD
@@AceKitties man, i don`t wanna backseat spiff, i just want to help him if he does a skyrim video with the alchemy-loop again. It`s nothing wrong, it just takes more time.
@@AceKitties there's nothing really referencig Brit in there and it's useful if anyone new tries to follow
It's also easier to find yellow mountain flowers for the Fortify Resto potions. You can get 50+ of them in the Ancestor's Glade cave. I believe you need either Special Edition or Dawnguard DLC for this to work, though.
@@gotdangedcommiesitellyahwa6298 he’s playing on AE which means he could do that anyways since it includes everything
When I first played the new update I saw the fishing rod and I said to myself “I know the spiffing Brit is going to make a vid on this.” And a couple months later here it is. Yessss!!!
Clearly the best part of this video is that when he’s harvesting fish from the lake he jumps in and catches them barehanded instead of using the rod. Hat off to you sir
When Spiff can bearly get through the intro without giggling you know its gonna be good xD
I played skyrim for the first time, I promised myself I wouldn't cheese the game. It was half an hour until I was under the map stealing money.
It's to hard to resist exploits lol
I remember watching a small streamer years back (i think 2013/14?) playing through Skyrim with a garden hoe as their only weapon. It was modded so that it had a decent base damage value & could be enchanted too.
Nice chill stream, maybe 100 or so people in chat, had a laugh & made some friends.
Was a good time.
Hoes don't exist :)
@@tada-kun982 That's beacuse it was modded in...
Spiffing Brit: We're going to do damage with fishing poles today.
Also, Spiffing Brit: We're going to get lots of fish by stealing it.
4:47 So, Spiff finally proves what we've all suspected from day 1: that gordon ramsay's career started with him just straight up murdering some rando.
Lol I love how Gordon refers to peoples belongings as their ingredients.
starts the video with "i'm not just gonna fortify restoration loop everything" then continues to do xactly that. damnit spiff this whole making a new skyrim video every month thing better be an elaborate algorythm exploit cuz they are getting old xD
yeah... thought the same... But this time, he didn't make the ITEM op, he made himself overpowered :D
Have faith in Spiff 😂 he'll bring us the goods 🙏
Naturally, Al Gore's rhythm cannot resist a Skyrim exploit. It is perfectly balanced 👌
I've seen Spiff do the fortify loop many times. Each time is like the first
"Look at the fish. IT'S FRIGGIN FUS RO RAW!"
Spiff: "see we basically do no damage and they can massacre us"
>Health bars basically even
*I dont think the queen will be putting down anyone anytime soon...*
Uh Spiff mate when we said for you to catch us something, we didn't mean the killer instinct.
Dear god this man's power is absolute.
the spiffing brit could be a God if he wanted to, *A GOD OF EXPLOITS*, he is only rivaled by the queen, who is using every extra life exploit ever made
Todd: Why does Spiff keep doing this?
Spiff: I love this!
Me: Choking of laughing ....
That image looked so real I died too. I scrolled to find someone else that did
honestly idk what I expected opening a spiffing brit skyrim video but I hoped for once it wouldn't be fortify restoration loop
"For some reason it just clipped into the terrain and fell out of the world."
Ok, I did not know the Fortify restoration potion affected the blessings as well 😂. God I love you Skyrim videos 🧡
If Todd actually knows that Spiff does this you would figure he would actually put effort into fixing these damned bugs.
IT JUST WORKS!
I used the wood cutter's axe for almost 15 levels in a playthrough. I died a lot well doing so.
”He was forged in Hell’s Kitchen!” That was like so good it felt like tho the whole video was leading up or made for that line
Go ahead Spiff. Beat Skyrim with Mehrune's Razor without enchanting it or anything else or even making any potions.
Wonderful, I love it when I watch a few of my favorite videos in spiff's back catalogue and then come to my subscriptions and find he's made a brand-new one... It's like he knows.
Well of course he knows, he drinks Yorkshire tea!
Oh no it appears I've spent another half hour of my life watching Spiff do the Skyrim glitches again
Oh well
Whens the next one?
I'm so glad I found this channel 😂
This makes me think of that samurai trope about how a master swordsman could be far more deadly with a random flimsy stick picked up off the ground than an amateur with the finest of blades.
The queen never got to put ralof down
Yep ☠️☠️
