That would have been very cool, but I also wouldn't want to live in a world without Howard Shore's soundtrack. Some kind of collaboration would have been cool though!
I'm glad you found this! I made it with the intent of people like you and me who travel down eclectic internet holes to have somewhere to stay for a moment :)
Even though its its found in the mountains behind minas tirith, i always thought the "tree by the brook" line as the reflowering of the clone of Telperion, the white tree Nimloth.
The LOTR books were as much of a cultural touchstone for the generation including Zepp as any other literature... My dad, who was of that same generation/time was super into the LOTR as a kid- so much so that, for a class project when he was in middle school, he made a 6x8 foot faithful reproduction of the map of the LOTR, including tracings of the tracks of the travels (with dates!) of the members of the fellowship, etc, throughout the books- Although he's been gone these last twenty years, I can still connect to him through things like that huge (clearly lovingly made) map of Middle Earth! Cheers. B.
That's really interesting! I would have never made the Tolkien connection with Stairway (I know, what type of content creator am I not thinking of these things lol). Even if that wasn't what was intended that'll be my new head canon on the song!
@@kaylubproductions4517 Oh no worries. I got redpilled on that as well some years ago that the song is about galadriel. After that it also became my headcanon. Most ppl do agree on this though as does the OWtrt Wiki.
You are very correct, but they talked often, especially Robert Plant, that Tolkien’s literature was a big influence on his early songwriting (“Led Zeppelin II” - “Led Zeppelin IV” era), and much of my research in this video was based on what he had said in interviews.
@@henrydaly-pp8ie Yes, that's right, Tolkien was heavily inspired by old English literature from across the British Isles: Beowulf, Sir Gaiwin and the Green Knight, even some later Englishmen like Shakespeare with Macbeth, etc. and he wrote about how he wanted Middle-Earth to be a new kind of myth for England. So Zeppelin and Tolkien were both inspired by the old stories, but Zeppelin was also-also inspired by Tolkien as well!
It’s been a while now since I’ve directly read the books so I don’t have put to memory a direct quote to give, but Tolkien was clear, not in LOTR directly, but more so in the expanded canon, that the love story of Aragon and Arwen was meant to mirror that of Beren and Luthien, of whom they both are descended from. That was more so the point that I was trying to make here, unfortunately I didn’t word it very well!
I really thought typing this topic in I was gonna get 0 results, this was great man.
Thank you! I always try to make videos that I'm interested in that are generally less talked about on UA-cam.
They should have had Led Zeppelin construct the LOTR soundtrack!!!😍😍😍

@@kaylubproductions4517 true!
Or at least for the 1978 Ralph Bakshi LOTR!
i can relate the acoustic songs of LZ with the world of Tolkien.
That’s mostly the ones I mentioned in this video! It could definitely use a remake though, most of my points are pretty half-baked.
I learned this connection today and I highly appreciate this video to explain the video.

This video is unappreciated. Great vid👍

And I dont see it as Sauron but the Witch King who is Saurons chief emissary and represents Saurons intent into its entirety.
Awesome 💪
If this video didn't exist One would have to invent it.Thank You for doing this.

I totally get the semi-obscure reference!

That’s wonderful, I also got my love for Tolkien from my dad. Great to hear from you!
The part of gollum was played by Steve busemi.
I wish you put subtitles for the music and the literature on the screen
I agree. If I make more in the future that is one of the first big things I'd change.
Sweet!
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Nice!!!

Great vid! But you kept saying Eragon instead of Aragorn lol
you are reading too much into this, alot of their music was influenced by Celtic music and legends of Wales.

@@kaylubproductions4517 tolkiens literature is also based on Welsh legend and myth, in fact one of his elfish languages is based on Welsh.

@@kaylubproductions4517 my humble musical opinion, Led Zep acoustic tunes draw from trad music forms of Britain.
The love interest of Aragon was barely in the books at all. I doubt Led Zeppelin wrote about that. This is retrofit from the movies.

There is no character named "Aragon" anywhere in Tolkien.
That was my bad, I always confuse Aragorn with Aragon when I say it 🤪
You did good, mate: that 'confusion' was Tolkien's intention. 🙌🏻🙌🏻@@kaylubproductions4517
