This film is short, but long enough to send a powerful message about male mental health and the unfortunate stigma that still persisits around it. Leaving the military after a long time is probabaly more difficult than most realize. Many people who serve in all branches have experienced pain in their young lives. As this film shows, even the best among us are not immune. First and foremost, SF members are also flesh and blood falible human beings who are not immune from the rigours of life like anyone else. Best wishes to Craig for his new ventures in the US. I wish him, above all else, peace and happiness. Garry Harriman South Carolian RAF Retired 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸
This video just saved me. Edit: I hope those of you that replied see this edit. Thank you so much for replying with encouragement and support. 9 months ago I was in a place I wasn’t sure how to get out. Thanks to the support of others I made it out of that hole and have been living a good life. This short film wasn’t the only thing that saved me but it played a huge part in giving me the strength to put one foot in front of the other and pushing forward. Thank you again. 🙏🏼

You gonna let that warrior inside you fade away because your having a bad day? Come on son dig deep unlock the cage and let it all out, keep your chin up high friend
It's such a beautiful video for anyone in a dark place. I think we men just suffer it alone. We don't talk about it even to our most dearest loved ones. Sometimes, talking helps temporarily, but only you can fix yourself. It's hard. It takes time, but it can be done. And you will fall again, but now you know how to get back up again.
That's crazy, this and the Nairobi siege video randomly came up in my feed and I had them both in separate tabs with no idea who Christian Craighead was! What an absolute legend!
I'm struggling to think when we used to communicate. You still have that daft grin..A mate spoke to you at the petrol station 2 days ago. I retire after 30 yrs in THE JOB week. When I saw you on YT was soooò proud.
I have often feared, should I choose to enter the darkness of my pain, I would not come back. "Just Come Back" hit me right in my Soul. How does one come back?
Hey man I wish I had the golden answer. But the overall idea behind “just come back” is doing your very best to make every part of your daily routine a reward. Eat good, train hard, talk to the people you love and the people you don’t know and get thoughts out of your mind instead of keeping them in. All easier said than done and that doesn’t fix everything. If you go out of your way to challenge your mind (ice bath or anything uncomfortable) you take a little bit back each time and build your brain muscles! Personally I’ve suffered with a lot and those things worked into my daily routine seem to help me! Thanks for watching man!
Life's funny. I remember watching this video a while back when I thought I was going through a tough time. Then I had a proper tough time regarding my cardiac health . It's been a dark few months, getting there, and been feeling good, had a bad moment today, knocked me back, scared me but I then remembered how calming this video was back then and here I am watching it again. Life's odd.
I’m glad you can find peace in this film! We made this film to be viewed more than once. Even though I made it I also watch to remind myself that good and bad days happen for us all. This is a safe space 👊
I am busy watching Christian in the interview with Shawn Rhyan. He is a teacher and maybe doesn't realise to what point he is touching lives around the globe. When he spoke about being like a specialised tool that was needed for one job, it made me reflect on the secondary characters in the bible. How important they are for God's plan to unfold. To be at the right place at the right time. Christian did what he did, when he did it, so God's plan could unfold. But his story lives on and will continue to impact people for years to come. Christian has and is teaching me to read the bible differently. To use a different lense. One of humility. May all the little boys on council estates dream big, like he did. I lived on a council estate in London for 5 years, and being there during lockdown too. So much of what he talks about, rings true. Now it is knives though. The young boy on our landing was stabbed. So his family sent him back to Africa. May God bless Christians path forward. May his Guardian Angel keep him safe.
Thanks Chris - and thanks Tyler for making this. It's so hard to break the walls down - and no-one is coming - but it helps sometimes to know I'm not the only giant and mine is not the only garden. This has helped on a very difficult day, thank you.
This is a powerful short film. Thank you two legends for creating this. I watch it frequently and it doesn't half resonate. Spotted some locations local to me in the film too, that made my day to know I've stood where "CC" has stood. Honoured. 😊
Thank you, I’m working on taking down my own wall. But it’s seams like I have to do it stone by stone and it take more energy to take down then to put up. Three stones down then one stone up but I will get there
Woke up screaming. Stood blanked out. Shouted at people for less reason than needed. Hurt myself to feel alive . Screamed in the car driving . Had to control myself in really small everyday confrontations. I've been arrested. Suicide is not an option it's a certainty. This is a serious message, and I'm not a Walter Mitty. Good for Christian, this should be on national TV as a Man's club advert. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all reading this.
@Tyler Palmer Filmmaker may your god be with you . By the way, the story is a Christmas favourite of mine. It brought a tear my eye when I was a child 50 yrs ago. It is very relevant to men right now. Thank you for a fine piece of work.
Totally agree about this being a portrait to getting to the other side of the wall. Screaming in the car … I’d scream around the house to pretend figures. Flying off the handle, yes. Crying in the shower, then just shave and go to work. Not really concentrate the first few hours until I’d shrugged off the broken night’s sleep. Nice girls confused why I’d ask them to leave before I slept and being too ashamed / worried to explain and thinking keeping it in was a better way to manage. That kept me alone for a long time. Thanks Chris. Thanks to all those who put this together with you. I wish I’d invested more in family and friends, especially after the last time. Now I do, and it helps. Don’t live far away from others. Casual dropping around is a good way to start building normality again. Just sharing is all. Edit: Thank you Tyler.
This was powerful. Oscar Wilde was an amazing writing but to add Christian, knowing his background, was hard hitting and inspirational. I feel if a lot of people saw this, it would help them begin to heal.
I watch this short movie probably three times a week, it seems to resonate and inspire, i find abstract and subtle stuff like this can often reach parts of us that we become so good at burying, i was on telics 2, 3,4 and 5, probably passed through Brize the same time as Christian but never met "Sirs Ma'ams Ladies and Gentlemen can i have your attention please, those boarding flight Romeo Romeo..."

Cinematography, color grading, audio… everything is spot on! Really fantastic work. And what an privilege to have been able to work with Christian Craighhead. Congrats and best regards from south Spain
Fascinating to see this more creative and dramatic side to Christian, although I imagine it's based on reality. I do wonder what these war heroes go through mentally in the years after their service. I thought quite a bit about joining as a young man, but my family had lost a few men in combat so never did. Always had a fascination for it though. There is a kind of purity in that pursuit of excellence.
