- This is a redo of an earlier video from 2016. Had to insert new music and cleaned up the video more.
Great classic toy from my youth!

I got that for Christmas in 1972 when I was 9yo. It was a fun toy!
Love the ocean water effect. Cool toy.
That is very cool. I remember, had to be around Christmas 1972, I got a model (not this one) without the ship, but the controls were on a wire leading from the base. My elder brothers (I would have been 10 at the time) took it upstairs in the hall and I got to watch them play around with MY toy for a little while before I got a crack at it. So much fun. Definitely the highlight of my Christmas that year.
I got one for Christmas the same year, it was also different than this one.
I had this toy as a boy. Hours and hours of fun... no video required.
That ocean isn’t nearly as vast as Willies imagination.😊
Awesome toy
I like the fancy visual effects! (I had the Star Trek one as a kid, but sadly it didn't survive.)
I had the set that came with a strip of road, and a car. Like I mentioned on another channel, if you loosened the prop just enough and cranked the throttle, the prop would fly off the Vertibird and hit your ceiling. :)
I love seeing these old toys again. Have you done a recent tour of the Toy Tomb? It looks like you have some cool stuff.
Na, my room is a mess :P
That's so cool. I saw your video on the virtual one previously. It's nice to see the real thing in action.
When I was in the Army back in 72 at one of the Beer Gardens there was a large Vertibird type arcade game. Contained within a 3 ft x 3 ft cube area. Much more detailed. It operated under similar method but much larger. You would fly and touch various targets which would create a score. Cost 50 cents a game to play. It was quite entertaining. Anyone else out there who remembers playing that arcade game?
I remember playing Choppr by Midway back then :) ua-cam.com/video/Z2ip9OGrDxo/v-deo.htmlsi=PvYY8WG5gE-o74Xj
Super cool Set we are into the same type of toys.
I had a Vertibird! Just a basic one, no ship or Police Squad. And I see a Big Trak in the background!
Have you ever heard of a Gripidee Gravidee? I had a deluxe one from Sears and my sisters loved it. But you could put rubber wheels on the gears of the spacecraft and run it along, off the tracks and we had shag carpet so . . . . Plus, the little white things that connected pieces of track broke off all the time and then you couldn't connect pieces of track.
Yep, I know of Gripidee Gravidee :)
When the drive wire failed did Martell send repair parts free or at all??
I had one of these. I burned through a ton of batteries. The ship got heavily damaged with helicopter hits, usually accidentally.
My brother had one of these! The fuel was the only thing I could snag.
How do I contact you? Looking to find this for my father. He bought one for my brother and I in the 70's. I think he enjoyed it as much as we did. He's in his 80's. I think he would love the memory of us enjoying ourselves in the moment. Please help!!
Its not for sale :)
I had one, it’ll whack your fingers pretty nicely!
I had The Enterprise one :(
Yep, I had the Remco Star Trek Enterprise as well :)
I have never seen one of these, bud. What a rad toy. Not my cup of tea but so much fun built into that thing is rad.
