Thanks Kevin! I have a 95 Dodge Coachmen van kind of like this and have no clue how to do any of this stuff so I'm hoping there is a lot of similarities between my van and yours. I need to dewinterize it because I bought it winterized. Could you do videos on the propane system, the fridge, and the electrical system basics? Thanks again!
Hello. Congrats on your rv. Yeh, Depending if your rv came with owner manual. most rv vans are set up similar. I was thinking of shooting video on system operations and upgrades.
A lot of maintenance with these rigs huh… only thing I’m not looking forward to lol. This fall I will be in the market for a Class-B and trying to decide on the Roadtrek or Xplorer.
Hello. After a couple run throughs of season maintenance you’ll have it down. The only major difference I see between Roadtrek and other class B’s, Is the aisle shower. I wouldn’t fit in the closet showers. Something to consider if your tall. Happy for your next rig. Unfortunately for buyers class B campers have gone up quite a bit in price. Cheers
Hey Kevin! Just stumbled accross your channel. Thanks for the good info. We recently purchased a 2002 190 Popular. I am santitizing the water system, but not sure how the two potable water tanks work together. It seems like the front potable water tank partially filled from the rear inlet, but when I moved the hose to the city water inlet, the front tank accepted more water before it overfilled and water escaped the front tank overflow outlet. 1) Will the front tank completely fill from the rear tank inlet? 2) Will the rear tank fill from the city water inlet or 3) do I need to fill each tank separately? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
Hello Brett. Sounds like we have the same year and model. Our RT’s have a back exterior fresh water holding tank between the generator and rear axle. And 6 gallon interior hot water tank, under the bed. I believe exterior tank is 30 gallon? You can fill fresh water tank from rear door access or from the city water hook up. When using city water hook up there will be a valve. usually in the vertical position. if turned horizontal that will fill your freshwater tank. And will over fill and keep running if not turned off Generally you want the valve in the vertical position. To pressure the rv city plumbing. I advice you to use a water regulator to control water pressure. You can’t use both city hookup and water pump at the same time. When camping I tend not to use city hookup. I use my water pump instead. A lot of times I will carry my own water. One less thing to hook up. Hope that helped
Kevin, what was the name of that rod you replace in the water heater? I have a 2000D190P and am a newbie. If mine takes the same rod as yours, would you please post a link for me to purchase one? Thank you!
I just bought a 1998 dodge rt 190 popular ,complete newbie ,is the water sanitation the same ,also wondering how to fill propane tanks ,and how to use the ac
Hello. Congrats on the RT. If you didn’t get a manual on the van, I recommend going to the Roadtrek website. There you can find the manual specs on your RV.
We have watched many of your videos and want to thank you for your input on allot of different things. But if someone has questions, how can we get in touch with you? We don't have instagram. Our question is about the way you installed your hot water heater by-pass on. 00D190P.
Hello Gypsy. Glad to hear you enjoyed the videos. You can reach me through utube or Instagram. There is a link on my home page for Instagram. I might create a new email account for questions? Otherwise here to answer questions you might have. FYI. Local rv shops can help you with in person questions. Shouldn’t be any charge Cheers
@@KruisinKevin I don't see any other way to contact you through UA-cam other than leaving comments. I wanted to ask about your "city" hookup and the red valve and which way you turn it for pump only. (perpendicular or parallel) with the main water line. Sure would like a picture of your water system in the locked cubbie and a better picture of your bypass hookup to the water heater. Hard to tell in the video. Thank you, you can email my gmail account by the same name gypsyrvsue@
Kruisin Kevin allo, sorry, what I would like to know is how you "de-winterize" ? We are planning to drive down to Florida in January (in a winterized rt) and will need to flush the water system. Tx !
Kruisin Kevin ooops, me again - I actually meant 'how did you actually winterized it in the first place?" Did you go through the city line using a manual pump to only do only the internal water lines, or did you fill up the fresh water tank and used the water pump to fill the whole system ? In both cases, it is understood that the hot water tank is bypassed. Tx again and sorry for the mixed-up.
Hello again. You can winterize through City hook up, or freshwater tank. 2-3 gallons of pink rv anti-freeze. You have to first drain your water plumbing, water heater tank, and holding tanks. Then add the antifreeze. If your De-winterizing. It’s the same process in draining the antifreeze. I go a step further and sanitize my plumbing after rinsing the anti-freeze out. Hope that helps fellow treker.
This was a good easy to follow demo. Thank you.
Hola and good morning ☀️ Love the Roadtrek camper vans 😘 Looking 👀 forward to more videos of the upkeep maintenance and care of your rig✌️ Thank you 😎
Thanks for the detailed vid bud.
This was really helpful, thanks! I have the exact same roadtrek

thanks kevin. I winterized and dewinterized via your video. Wow do you get antifreeze out of fresh water tank? Post vinegar got pink from fresh water
You have to run a few cycles to clear it all out and disinfect it. Normally I use the city hook up for running antifreeze throughout the system

Hello Carolyn, Here's a link for your 6 gallon water heater anode rod.
