- Here are some plug-and-play test I did with Karin. Mostly covers with some originals thrown in. (All SVPs and midis made by me).
Voice review:
I Karin a lot. Her voice is very expressive in JP and a little bit in english. She has a great soprano voice and doesn't automatically go into falsetto when she goes over C5 (*looks at stardust*). I think she is on par with her counterpart, Rikka, in terms of sweet and idoly vocals, but she also offers slightly more power. Her tone is very naturally chipmunkish so she's actually the first Synth V vocal that I prefer to turn the gender slider down. A solid vocal synth overall.
I saw people saying her voice was generic and boring, but I think she rocks!!!
I like her quite a bit from what I've heard of her. It still blows my mind how good the cross-lingual in Synth V is
Ugh this song. Our music taste is p similar we stan. She sounds REALLY good???! The cross lang stuff they have is fire

i am so excited for honey lemon holy shit
I just found the channel but I'm so excited for honey lemon holy.
Oh my god, Karin singing I H8 U?! It sound so cute and too good but too sadistic like she enjoy singing this due to the lyrics... regardless she sings English attractively😍
Tbh I love Karin alot!! Especially with her gender parameter up!! I usually turn it to around 180 for a nice boyish tone
SHE SOUNDS SO GOOD IN I H8 YOU !!
i love her
i think synth v is running into a "same-y" voice problem. she sounds like a husky voiced rikka which makes sense as counterparts. but who would u recommend buying her over another voice personally?
i guess it depends on what you’re looking for. for japanese vocals, i’d prefer buying her over seika and maybe even tsuina in terms of versatility. For english vocals, i think she gets outclassed by solaria and stardust but then again it all comes down to the type of music you want to use her for. she’s great for pop and idol type music. i’ll have to do more experimenting but i think she’s a pretty solid vocal, especially if you like her design or character.
@@eggtan3965 ah ok
I honestly think that the voices by MEDIUM5 (Beijing Photek) sound all different from each other, and when compared to other voices from different companies they sound very different. I own Stardust Infinity and Haiyi and those two sound VERY different from each other, I've even compared Stardust Infinity's JP voice with Rika and it's 100% different.
So yes, I do agree with your opinion that some voices sound very close but there are some companies that make voices that are different. Also consider that both Karin and Rikka are made under the same company AHS (AH-Software) so they might make them sound similar, or their production quality isn't as good.
My recommendations are any MEDIUM5 (Beijing Photek) voices. Currently Stardust Infinity is the only AI voice by MEDIUM5 that supports cross-lingual synthesis, the other voices need X-SAMPA Dictionaries to sing in different languages. Otherwise, you have to find out what song style and language you plan to produce in in order to pick a good voice.
The point: there are other voices that will sound very different from each other and synthV has not come to this "Same-y" sound yet.
Karin kinda sounds like a higher GUMI to me IMO! I like her a lot so much after listen to listening to a lot of Synth V covers lately and she's become quite recognizable to my ears already.
I really love her so...
oh WOW i really love how she sounds covering that naruto opening song
ngl I'm super excited for honey lemon now that sounded so good!!
Aaa she sounds so nice!!!
istg everything u post is a literal masterpiece you could post a shitpost and it’d be amazing
I love Karin's sweet sounding voice, but I use the gender parameters for singing to make her sound mature. She shares the same Seiyuu as Shinobu from D4DJ and I like her voice because of that.
wait honey lemon sounds so good im excited
ahhhhh I love her ❤
Woahwoahwoah!!!! She's great!!!
Oh thank God I'm not the only one who thinks she's squeaky. I saw a comment on another video saying "I love her deep voice!" and I was just "????"
Btw, I love the originals! Are you secretly a K-pop producer?
when you lower her gender factor she has a very mature tone especially with lower tone shift. one of her main selling points is the difference between her high and squeaky and smooth and deep voice
LORD im so excited for my copy to come in 🙏🙏🙏
shes so gooood
Girl, you need to finish Honey Lemon please? T-T
Interesting 🤔
She’s cute, she’s a bit like Tsuina but more mature 👀
That's exactly what I thought!
they’re really similar! i did tweak Karins voice to sound more mature, naturally she sounds really young
I love her voice I just wish she wasn't a high-school girl design wise. can we stop making high school aged girls for vocal synth designs please?
Also Honey Lemon sounds great ! I can't wait for the full song :) Karin sounds like she'd be great for those vocal synth fan that like to make K-Pop covers
thank you! also i agree so much. i’m not a fan of high school aged vocal synths especially because there’s so many of them. and don’t even get me started on Anri being 20 when her outfit looks like a school girl uniform *sigh* or tsuina’s outfit and character art.
@@eggtan3965 lol I see where people are coming from with Anri, but I like to think of her as someone who's really into sailor style j-fashion! Her alt design makes her seem like someone who's really into fashion so yeah I just feel like she's into j-fasion lol
@@HilliBilliBob i agree! i personally like fashion that looks like uniforms etc, i dont see it as an issue, aside from the fact that every vocal synth ever has that look for marketing purposes lol
@@styrofoam00000 Omg ! It's Jelly ! Hi 👋 I really love your chika original!
@@HilliBilliBob thank you!!
I wonder what Seika and tsuina chan sounded like I'm English.
ua-cam.com/video/SMijhSFKmKg/v-deo.html
here's tsuina. I don't hear a lot people use seika for english (or in general) and I don't have her so I can't really get a good feel on how she sounds. But from what I have heard she sounds pretty good.
Very nice! What the fuck is this doing in my recommend though lol. Think the first song actually sounds better than the original.
Why does she sound like stardust ?
she does doesn’t she
where do you buy her?
