But it's not forbidden or impossible to skip steps that increase quality, or to use older software, or to put the voice samples through a blender if you like how that sounds. I, personally, really like robotic voices and I wish more creators embraced awkward pronunciations and rough transitions between notes
Yeah, I think we should be striving for a balance between sounding realistic and nice to the ears while also retaining that distinct robotic tone and pronunciation.

For me Teto also sounds way different. There's just a hint of her original voice left imo, and when she has to sing more powerfully it's just a new voice altogether. Miku still sounds like Miku to me but probably bc she has so many different uses and tuning styles that it isn't as surprising to hear her sound weird and different.
It depends for Teto. Depending on how you change her vocal modes, she either sounds like herself or different. Still love her though, it's all Teto for me 💗

Ci flower's official twitter (which recently became in-character) made this statement in a reply, which I translated here: "Both v flower and current me exist, with the differences included, and I would be happy if you were to keep loving both. I want to promote and uplift v flower to the extent that I can in my current position."

Honestly I think her voice fits with her concept. I feel like users REALLY forget that she is based on the concept of an ACTUAL Flower. And seeing as how a Flower is both female and male it would only make sense for this version of Flower to sound more feminine. (Plus, Ci Flower was meant to sound different than her VOCALOID voicebanks, just so that way her voice was much more versatile)

Luo Tianyi and Xingchen new voices are amazing :0 It's so realistic ! I don't like Miku NT, I prefer her Vocaloid version. NT voice seems...a little empty for me. IA new design looks like a Miku design, her original design is much better.

I believe the reason for the new updated versions sound different to the originals is due to them becoming more realistic,so uniqueness is somewhat lost.

I think it's because YANHE's vocaloid voice was actually planned for Zhiyu Moke, which is why it sounds so boyish. They probably changed her vb to sound more like a female voice

macne nana’s old (utau and older) voicebanks are no longer available, but that’s been the case since she moved to vocaloid originally. idk abt her vocaloid vb tho

While I wish that Ci Flower still had that more tomboyish feeling to her, I actually don't mind her new voicebank. It's not the best but there are probably worse out there. Kinda sad not to see Xia Yu Yao or Ritsu getting mentioned but overall enjoyed the list :] Also still proud of Teto (or well, the team behind her) getting a Synth V voicebank, it was many people's dream after all for her to become a real Vocaloid (technically she isn't a Vocaloid because.. Synth V, but yk what I mean)

THEY RUINED MY GIRL V FLOWER! 😭😭😭Okay jokes aside, Yukari's, IA's, and V Flower's design just looks too different from the OG design. However, I'm grateful they still kept Yukari's original hairstyle to set her apart from everyone else. Maybe IA's new voice suits her character better, but the new design is just too basic and similar to at least 3 different UTAU/Fanloid/Vocaloids.
(Edit: I really like Xingchen's new design. It really gives off that space-anime-fighter vibe. I also really like Tianyi's new design, it gives off the same vibe.)

Hope you'll mention Tohoku family - Zunko, her sisters Kiritan & Itako and whatever the hell that Zundamon thing is - if you'll ever make a part 2! They've found their ways on lots of synthesizers such as UTAU, Voiceroid, Neutrino, Voicepeak and way more
I believe the reason for the new updated versions sound different to the originals is due to them becoming more realistic,so uniqueness is somewhat lost.

I think it's because YANHE's vocaloid voice was actually planned for Zhiyu Moke, which is why it sounds so boyish. They probably changed her vb to sound more like a female voice
