I live in California and we are often in a drought. I think the recirculating pump is a great idea. We waste so much water waiting for the water to warm up.
Everything that will be below the joists will be wrapped in insulation, and everything in the joist bays will be surrounded by our ground floor insulation.
Sunday greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲. Hello One Foot and family. What a treat as I relax and enjoy your struggles 😮😮. Never mind thing will get back to normal soon
Do you think having the UA-cam channel helps keep you working on the build when you really just want to stop for awhile? I feel like it will be hard to stay motivated toward the end. I could see waiting a long time to put railing on the porch and some finishing work like that. I think having the UA-cam channel will help encourage you to finish all those little things.
It definitely helps us stay motivated to build. It does take time away from the build when we're setting up shots, dealing with batteries and memory cards, transferring footage, and editing each weekly videos, BUT I think having out UA-cam channel actually pushes us to keep going, and is probably helping us complete everything in a more timely manner.
так проходила зима в моем детстве. падало много снега, тк много что скрывало дом по самые окна я брал лопату и слега приоткрыв двер откапывл окна и входную дверь. потом дверь в гараж.
SUGGESTION - Following in the footsteps of the previous post. You need to put a reminder on your electronic calenders to shut off all of the outdoor spigot before the first frost. Plan on those needing repairs and replacement after every good freeze
@One Foot Off the Grid I have frost free valves that stick 18 inches under the house and they will still freeze in the right conditions. Shut offs before first frost, valves left open, and freeze resistant covers covering exterior valves is the only sure way to not fill crawl space with water
use your oscillating tool to cut just the white pex A connector then use hair dryer to remove the blue, red, white pex pipe,. test on your 90 degree piece . The absolute best gift you can give your home is recirculating hot water, even your wallet will love you.
From what I read, it's not recommended to heat up the plastic connectors to removed the. If they were brass we would have been ok to re-use. They are pretty cheap, so probably worth just using a new one. I purchased the recirculation pump, so we are definitely adding that.
You were saying that Trent and Allie flooded twice but it was more as they also got flooded when the drain was not sealed properly for the inspection and the cap flew off!! You guys are doing just as well as T and A. Trent was always cutting or redoing things as he made more mistakes than he would admit to!! You two should be proud of yourselves with what you are achieving with this build! Who else would be able to work in the crawl space in the middle of the deep freeze?? Not me!!! Uhh no way!! Keep warm. Stay rugged up. Take good care. Big hugs!
On your Recirculation line you could wire in a timer switch so whenever someone knows they want hot water they spin the timer on and it would start pumping and when you were ready the hot water would be ready to go. With a timer it goes off after a set time and the pump stops pumping. I tell you what, snow and ice and down hill look scary. Keep safe.
I believe our system will have a timer so we can, for example, set it to come on at 5:00 AM each morning. It also has a mode where it will turn on whenever there is a demand because the pump is wired into the electronics on the hot water heater.
Are you putting shut off valves for the outside water? If not, you'll wish you had. I'd have a drain between the under house shut offs and outside spigots so you can drain the water in that short run of pipe.
Great save on the outside spigots, new subscriber just caught up on your videos. Love your channel, I think I’m just a couple of hours down interstate from you. Love watching a local!
We plan to insulate all the pipes and all the floor joists. We actually don't get super cold in our location. Cold nights for us are in the mid 20's, and normal is mid 30's in the winter. If it gets real cold I might plug in a space heater or a couple light bulbs and close the foundation vents.
I love watching ya'lls exploits. but I have to be a little bit critical today, umkay, I really wish you would stop filming down at your feet when you're walking, it makes us old one eyed fellers get dizzy. Just Sayin
Great job your getting there..
Thank you, Guy!

I (sara) can definitely see it from that perspective.
make sure you buy heat tape for all water lines in your crawl space it will keep them from freezing

Hi Lloyd! Thank you so much for watching.
Super Video 👋🤗😊🇩🇪🙋♂️🙂
Thank you !

I am hoping you get in there soon, but I love watching you both 🥰.
Thank you so much LaRue!

These are frost free valves so should help with freezing but probably still a good idea to shutoff and drain in the winter.

Nice video ,you both are doing great.
Thank you so much, Garyl.

They have spigots that protect from freezing, look into it could be just what your looking for!
We actually did get frost free spigots for both of them. Still probably a good idea to have shutoffs.
❤❤❤

I was thinking about this and all the faucets are free proof, but I just ordered 3 valves with drains. Better to be safe than sorry.

That's great! We always love it when we have local subscribers. If you see us out and about sometime make sure to say hi.
Hot water... I would do the instant on hot water.
That is what we are thinking also. Endless hot water.
Yeah, shut the water off to outside valves in winter, drain the pipes. Otherwise be prepared to weep!
We have a plan for shut off valves in the works. :)
Manchmal baust du deinen Mann klasse auf, "darin bist du ziemlich gut, tztztz" toll für eine Ehefrau
❤😊❤😊❤
Curious about the type of faucet you chose, is it a siphon and freeze less proof for outside use?
It is rated as a freeze proof outdoor spigot. I’m going to be putting in a shutoff valve as well.
Yes, I forgot to mention it.
Enjoying your videos. As cold as it can get at your location, is any plan to generate heat in the crawl space when needed?
We plan to insulate all the pipes and all the floor joists. We actually don't get super cold in our location. Cold nights for us are in the mid 20's, and normal is mid 30's in the winter. If it gets real cold I might plug in a space heater or a couple light bulbs and close the foundation vents.
You could do with a tow bar bin holder, bin just drives behind car
True. I'll have to look into something like that.
Will be lagging the pipes so you don't get any burst pipes in cold weather ??( more work for you all )
Insulating?
I’m curious why hot water access outside. Is there a future outside shower planned?
Warm sprinklers, washing the dog. We figured there would be a lot of cases where it would be handy.
Was the bunny wild or did you bring it home as a pet?
He is wild, but we suspect that he was someone’s pet one day. He hangs around us to much to be truely wild.
When was March 19 filmed? We live in Woodinville and wondered about the snow.
This was end of Feb/early March.
You have a vented crawl space. Why will the water in your pipes down there not freeze?
We will insulate the joist bays and any pipes that are below will get insulation around the pex.
@@OneFootOfftheGrid you should keep an old broom down there to lead the way and clear the webs. 🕷️🕸️🕷️🕸️
Will you be needing to insulate under the house in your crawl space?
We will be insulating the crawl space. Most of the pipes are up in the joist bays but any that aren’t will have pipe insulation around them.
No shutoffs to the outside water spigots? Might worry about freezing...
good call Marty. I've thought about going back in and putting a couple of shutoff valves for our 2 outside spigots. Better to be safe than sorry.
@One Foot Off the Grid be sure to do the hot/cold ones also
Don't let her kid you - your wife can stand up down there 😂
Snow really sucks.
It really does, lol!
