Learn how, when and where to look for seashells & train your eyes how to find/spot/discover sea shells/shark teeth/fossils in the sand along tide wrack lines. Common beach treasures found beachcombing, sea shelling & exploring along the Lowcountry Ace Basin Beaufort, South Carolina coastline include whelk (knobbed/knobby, channeled, kiener, pear), lettered olive (SC state shell), shark eye moon snails, angel wing shells, clams (Quahog, Venus, jackknife, razor, imperial), blue mussels, lucines, murex (giant eastern, lace, apple), sea urchin, sand dollars, seastar/starfish, tulip (banded & true) auger, baby's ear, coral frags, jingle, slipper, drill, periwinkle, egg casings, horseshoe crab shells, sea sponges & seawhips. Our favorite rare beach finds include Indian artifacts, vertebrae, giant tun shell, mermaid purse, fossil shells & antique bottles! Along our virtual beach walks, we encounter living sea creatures, including hermit crabs in the tide pools. We have a huge seashell collection. We give away a lot of beach treasures via channel giveaways & to our Patreon Patrons as our appreciation!
Crabbing tips & tricks: how to/what to use to bait & catch blue crab with crab pots/traps or baskets; how to measure blue crab/stone crab claws; how to clean/cook crabs; how to determine sex/maturity of blue crabs; regulations & requirements for crabbing in SC.
Inshore & offshore/deep sea fishing adventures: learn how to fish Carolina rigs using mud minnows, shrimp, squid or fiddler crabs catching spottail bass (bull redfish/red drum), spotted sea trout, sheepshead, flounder (gigging too), triggerfish, snapper, grouper, mackeral, bluefish, black drum, black sea bass, whiting, cobia, shark & more!
Shrimp trawling: how to shrimp dragging a 25 ft trawl net with our small 17 ft boat; checking our nets; showing/sorting our catch; throwing back bycatch (squid, bait fish, skates/rays). Watch as dolphin & shorebirds (gulls, terns, pelicans) follow shrimp boats to catch a meal.
Thank you for joining along for the virtual adventure!

My Dad used to throw the smaller catch as far as he could, hoping they wouldn’t keep coming back to the bait. He would fish for pickerel then we would head for the closest Island make a fire and cook the cleaned pickerel over the file! Yummy!
That's awesome!
When I was a little girl and my grandparents would always spit on they're bait.. I grew up in Indiana and was taught to fish by my grandparents when I was 3 yrs old. And my grandparents loved to fish for catfish and they used big juicy earthworms and always spat on them before casting. We'd always come home with at least 8 catfish.. thank you for bringing that memory back up for me... BTW, when I fish, I always spit on my bait!!!
Thanks for sharing your memories. I get a little crazy sometimes in the videos. LOL!
@@SaltyReflections I love your videos!! I love the stories you sometime share.. ya'll are great people and please keep doing what you're doing 👍
@@barbiej5106 ☺️
Loved watching y'all fish. Amazing catch Stephanie. Y'all can do no wrong, y'all are so enjoyable. Bless you for bringing me along!!
Thank you for coming along! 🤗🎣
Love it and love seeing the car ride through Beaufort and the swamp grass.
LOL! Spartina grass covers SC marshland.
You two just make my heart happy. Thank you 💜
That's awesome. Thank you!
Love those waves splashing against the bottom of the boat!! Thank you.
It is relaxing ... almost like waves at the beach! 🌊🎶
Thanks guys for taking us along!!!
No problem.
Beautiful day on the water. Good to see you'll again, thanks for bringing us along on your adventures.😊🛥
It sure was a beautiful day! We were surrounded by beauty.
Get to ripping some lips!!! Lol! Love y'all on the water while I have my morning coffee!!
Hope you enjoy both - the trip & the coffee! 😉
Those teeth blow me away, wild looking.
🦷😱🤯 They are crazy looking, so close to human teeth! 😁🤪
Loved being out here with you two. Thanks for showing us the neighborhood - both dry and wet.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know it's going to be another good one. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Louisiana

Glad you're able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Looks awesome 😎
It was nice. Glad we could share another video with you all.
@@SaltyReflections hello Oliver & Stephanie. We are thinking about coming back to SC to vacation. We loved our vacation last year to Myrtle Beach . And are curious about the Beaufort area. I have a couple ?'s if it's not too much trouble?
@@TheKeifferr sure thing. Ask away.
@@SaltyReflections hi thank you, do you know of any reasonable places to stay in Beaufort and is their any tours or trips that take you out to the barrier islands. Thank you.
My Dad lived for fishing up in northern Ontario Canada. He always spit on his bait before tossing in the line!
😄🌬 Some people swear by it! Bet you have eaten a lot of fresh fish he caught! Yummy! 😋🎣
Just an amazing video you guys are the best. Thanks for the good truck ride and boat ride.
We're glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you.
Sheepshead… good eating!
Yehbudi! 😋
Fun fishing trip. Way to go Steph on that big sheeps head. Water looked so calm and pretty. Always love your videos no matter what you do. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for always coming along on our adventures!
Ahh stress relief!
Yehbudi! 🤗🙌
Good morning and good luck
Good morning
Love it
Thanks!
Beautiful day. Steph, nice catch. Beautiful sheepshead, good eating, too! Did it kill you to destroy those muscle shells🤣🤣
😂 The sacrifices we make...
Ok. As many times as I fished with my dad, he never said "spit on the bait". 😂 Must be a southern thing (I grew up in St Louis). I'm amazed y'all don't get tangled up in that wreck. Guess you've been there enough times... Well, spoke too soon. You did get hung up. Love watching the ospreys fish here too. I'll email a picture of one up in a tree with a fish. Thanks guys!❤️
LOL! 🤣 It's a pretty common saying here, but we don't usually actually do it. Only when nothing's biting, we'll start trying all sorts of things. 😆🗣💦 But some people 💯 believe in it & do it EVERY TIME! 😂 We do get hung up out on the wrecks & artificial reefs ALL THE TIME 🙄😒 ... just part of it, kinda like fishing around trees in the creeks/rivers - gonna catch the limbs at times 😆 ... we call that a "timber bass." When I get hung up out on this wreck specifically, I say I caught a ship & I did literally! 😁🚢 That picture you sent of the osprey with the trout was absolutely AWESOME! Great job! You'll have to tell us what kind of camera you have. 📸 As always, thanks for joining us for another adventure! 🎣🦅🥰
@@SaltyReflections I use a Canon SX510HS. It's not new and when I bought it on eBay I bought it used. Has great zoom!
I miss the Low Country
We love it. You need to make a trip.
That is one uuuuuuugly fish! Hope it tasted better than it looked! Haha
Haha! 😆 Awe, no, they are so pretty! 🖤🩶🐠 & they even cheese at ya! 😁 They are top quality cuisine. 😋🍽
Always nice to follow your adventures! The water is my favorite. How is Legrand? Haven't seen him for awhile.
Thanks for joining us for another adventure! He's good!
Love the video miss shelling.
Posted a new shelling beach walk today! Hope you get to join us! 🌊👣🐚
Love fishing videos. I gotta come to that area and do some fishing myself
This is a fun area to fish! Thanks for coming along! 🎣
I’m laughing my Dad always told us to spit on the bait he said it would take the human scent away
Lol! So you know! 😂🤣🗣💦🎣
Pretty fish! Where's the next adventure?
Thanks 😊 Stay tuned 😉
What is that coming up out of the water behind you Oliver I saw it when you found the broken line and behind you on your fairwell looks like a sea lion or manatee
It is part of the sunken steel ship that we are fishing around. It is what Oliver was talking about (IDK if that was this video or the live stream from this day) having to be cautious of not getting too close to so as to not hit it with our boat, cause it's only visible once the tide drops. It is completely submerged on high tide, so it could be really dangerous if you don't know where it is. 😬
😇
😇😇😇
🎣❣️😊
What the heck is that behind yall at 31;15 mark? a manatee?
It was a part of the ship that sunk.
How far are you from Savannah by boat?
This wreck is called The Savannah, named after the ship that sunk here by that name. It is approximately 3 miles offshore, so to get around the inlet & then over to it is probably 20-30 minutes in calm seas. But the city of Savannah is about half a day/few hrs by boat.
@@SaltyReflections Must be a huge ship if you can see the top of it 3 miles offshore!
@@SaltyReflections "The City Of Savannah steamship wrecked during the Great Sea Island Storm of 1893 off the coast of Fripp Island." Awesome! I looked it up! It was huge!
@Karen Untz Yeah, it was huge. We have treacherous shallow areas all along the SC coast that have been known, unfortunately, for many tragic shipwrecks. 😥 🙏
