They wanted him to be as human as possible I´m guessing. His opponents might get taken aback from the "It´s just a machine" mentality that would make killing him feel a lot easier if it sounds like he´s in pain.

It really wouldve given Connor and Hank some more depth in their relationship rather than the only option to become deviant with the deviant leader who Connor literally just met.
After getting the good ending where Hank and Connor hug it out, it's brutal to see them fight eachother. I think when you go the good ending route they have the best written relationship in the game. They're my 2 favorite characters.

Well, because hank immediately had killing intent, position and weapon advantage and the way they kill you is different. Captain Allen would kill you outright if that was his intention but he was only there to detain you, and you left him no choice. You immediately have access to a gun during the swat fight making it possible to survive. Hank starts beating the shit out of you and throws you off the roof shortly after if you fail 4 QTEs while the swat team just shoots you which is way less efficient because android do not feel pain and will not be hindered by the shots they take unless it is a headshot which results with instant shutdown but Hank throws you off the roof which is a way to instantly kill any android. In terms of fighting advantages, as Capt. Allen is a professionally trained soldier, he relies more on his weaponry like his gun or a knife and so his movements are quick, precise and more lethal towards human opponents but Hank is more of a bar fighter and has a lot of weight that back him up so his main method of attacking is by grabbing which is more effective on an entity that does not feel pain.
there are actually multiple ways in which Allen and his team can kill you. if you take a couple of shots in the opening, there are sets of two QTEs that if you fail, someone shoots you and then Allen kills you. for example, the part where Connor kicks a Swat officer off the roof. if you take a couple of shots, and fail the qte to kick Allen away and the one to kick the officer off, Allen will shoot you twice and proceed to kill you.
let’s just appreciate the people at Quantum Dream for putting in so much effort, detail, and time into this game for actually giving us multiple outcomes and choices that actually matter. And thank you very much for making this video because i had no idea Connor and Hank would have a fucking showdown like holy shit!
I feel like that if it was the outcome where captain allen does shoot Connor, he would get demoted or fired because he killed the android that was going to end the deviant revolution.
The weirdest thing is that you can shoot hank in the gut, spare him, and if he knocks Connor off the building he walks away fine. A similar shot will kill him in another play through.
