    Just picked one up at a second hand store for the 186650s in it to fix tool batteries, the nice 3 phase motors that best most cheap wind turbines as generators is a nice bonus!

    Hello Impact DIY. I've seen this video, and since I have a 350W Hoverboard, I'm thinking of this project but also a similar one for a wind turbine. But my main questions is: How will I store or use the energy efficiently?
    What would you advise to be the best way to store the energy and then use it in a nice and easy way? Obviously incorporating a battery into the electrical system of the house has many risks and might be hard, so I was thinking like a 48V Battery with a normal outlet, that I could use to power my 3D Printer or my filament dryer for some limited time. Ideally, I'd have the battery connected to the wind turbine or bike while using it for powering the 3d printer, but I understand this might add some complexity, so I was first thinking of starting simple. Using the bike or wind generator to charge up a battery, which then I'd disconnect, bring it to the office, to power up some appliances, until it's depleted, and i'd take it to charge again. On a second stage, I'd try to make it all connected.
    I think you see my point. What would you advise for this? I'm curious for your input!

      + LiFePo4 batteries for storage.
      + 2000W pure sine inverter for converting 12/24/36/48V battery into AC current.
      + Battery Charger MPPT Controller
      + AC to DC Rectifier.
      + Motors to generate the electricity.
      To charge the batteries you connect the motor to a rectifier. The rectifier DC current will go to a Battery Charger Controller (preferably MPPT protocol). That will charge the batteries.

    I have a couple Briggs and Stratton engines and a hoverboard with fried circuit boards (water damage). Silly idea to drive one of these motors with a small gas engine? Obviously, I need to read up on these motors before I hurt myself or start a fire! Any recommendations on where to learn about these?

      You need to buy a rotation meter and if you keep the hoverboard motor under 400 rpm it will be ok. Also you can buy temperature sensors that will stop the gas engine.

My roommate is attempting a fossil free generator for our electricity bill to be no more plus to make car,truck,huge motorhome, motorcycle also self excited and fossil free e conversion !! Self running after initial start. I've seen his tiny prototype he demonstrates with.

    Salutare. Ma poti lamuri cu cateva chestii te rog?
    Cam ce viteza de rotatie atinge eoliana si la ce viteza a vantului?
    I.ai facut sistem de franare automata? Daca da la cate turatii ai setat sa se infraneze?
    Turatia rotorui este aceeasi cu cea a palelor sau i.ai pus angrenaj pt a mari rotatia rotorului?
    Ce stabilizator de tensiune folosesti? Banuiesc ca trebuie unul care sa fie in acelasi timp si step up si step down si sa suporte curenti mari la intrare, dar nu prea gasesc as vrea un link daca se poate.

      Nu este eoliana, este o bicicleta de fitness cu volanta, roata de hoverboard, produce 12v la 400 rotatii

      Am vrut sa incerc dar in zona in care locuim bate vantul doar cateva zile pe an si nu ar fi eficient. Cu bicicleta se face sport si se produce energie :).

    Salutare,este exact ceea ce cautam sa fac și eu, felicitări pentru inventie, spune-mi te rog frumos ,daca le punem pe amândouă motoare de la hoverboard obtinem mai multa energie, și dacă are importanță in ce direcție se învârt rotile hoverbordului! Mulțumesc astept un răspuns!!👍

      Salut, poti pune ambele roti dar va fi destul de greu de pedalat, poti sa incerci cu un motor putin mai mare. Directia nu conteaza

      I did not measure without it but without charge it can produce about 50v at 400rpm

    Great build. Inspiring. I'm looking into powering a hub motor with another hub motor as generator directly. Any idea the most efficient way to do that? Can you power one hub motor with another one directly?

      I tried this, wiring the 3 phases from one to the other, and it just kinda shakes and will not rotate.

      ¡Hola! Todavía funciona como nuevo y lo usamos. Es un puente rectificador de un viejo alternador de automóvil. ¡Funciona al 100%!

      Este functionala, bunicul meu o foloseste zilnic dar el la 80 de ani nu poate sa faca mai mult de 3-4 A. O foloseste pentru iluminat si incarcat telefon atunci cand este pana de curent

      Se poate pune convertor dar direct pe baterie, prin controller nu cred ca va functiona, trebuie unul de putere mai mare.

      Pe masina exista un regulator de tensiune, daca vrei sa construiesti ceva asemanator cu ce am facut eu iti recomand sa folosesti un regulator de tensiune pentru panouri fotovoltaice

      Salut, bunicul meu o foloseste zilnic, i-am pus o baterie mica de 40ah si cand se intrerupe curentul este foarte buna pentru iluminat si incarcat telefonul. Are si invertor dar nu prea l-a folosit.

      If you are strong, about 120w/h but it is hard to keep the rithm, my grandpa makes about 30w/h but he is 86 years old. Maybe i will make a video about this :), i made the project for him.

      Hello, thank you. With very small load or only with measure equipment attached it can produce about 50v

      +Nauman Azeem when the sollar contoller and 12 volt battery are connected it will only produce max 14 volts and it will not burn the controller :)

    Congratulations, you could detail the bridge rectifier, as you did and where you soldered the wires of the wheel.

      Thank you! The bridge rectifier is recovered from car alternator, the three wires are originaly soldered on the motor, I did not made any changes to the motor.

    I have just got one of these motors and connected up the 3 wires to the rectifier and put a multimeter on the other end and it was stuff all of a sudden. Why is that.

    am si eu un motor dinasta dar sincer nu mi merge la un bec de 12 volti merge infrinat am pus firele pe puntea de alternator cum ati pus dum da nu mi merge la m cumparat degeaba

      Buna seara, este normal sa mearga infranat, opune rezistenta atunci cand are consumator puternic la 10 amperi se pedaleaza foarte greu, este nevoie de volanta. Roata mica(motorul) trebuie sa se invarta la cel putin 300 rotatii/minut ca sa porneasca un bec de 12v.

      Diode rectifier. A three phase one is needed here.

      6x 10A or better diodes, or 3x half bridges ripped from old power supplies, or the diode stack from a scrapped alternator, or a purpose built 3 phase bridge unit. Lots of ways to do it. I plan on using both of the motors for a 6 phase 600w manual/wind generator.

      +A. MOHAMED it can produce about 60v with small charge. When the solar charger and battery are connected it can produce about 15v

    Just put the car alt on the frame with the pully against the bike wheel it will do the same thing maybe better since it was designed to produce power

      A hoverboard motor is also designed to produce power that's why it works. It's a essentially a car alternator in a different package.

      another armchair engineer with useless advice. car alternators need an external 12v supply to energize the field coil to even produce electricity and most need to spin at at least 1500rpm to even start generating. look up the difference between a generator and alternator. the hoverboard wheel is a 3 phase ac generator.

      There are only few wires, the 3 wires from the motor can be connected in any order to the bridge rectifier. From the bridge rectifier output there are 2 wires, positive and negative that are connected to the solar charger.

    You only used one of the motors. Make a wind turbine or water turbine with the other one. Or get two hover boards and make a quadcopter.

      I can say it's easier to generate power by rubbing two sticks together. But unless I describe it I just wasted everyone's time.

      It's 3 phase. You need to find the junction of your 3 windings
      if configured in star plus rectify the output of the three open ends of the windings the
