This is a phenominal way to get that fresh meat out of the fridge and make it shelf-stable. I am looking forward to raising our own rabbits (soon-ish) so we can do this, too! The walk through the growing things is delightful, too - That calendula bloom is big and beautiful! Worth the wait, for certain! And delighted how much our member group is growing - YAY!

Rabbit is definitely on my bucket list for when I have a homestead! Always love seeing the goats, Feral's hairdo makes me giggle every time. So excited to see the upcoming greenhouse transformation!

Good morning Heather and family. I absolutely love your videos! I am learning so much. It feels like it's been forever since I've been able to watch a UA-cam video of yours so I am going to watch as many as I can, to catch up lol. It is extremely humid here in Texas with expected storms. Taking advantage of creating more Gardens and expanding other Gardens. It's taking a lot of time and I'm not as young as I used to be LOL and my back's been acting up hahaha but it's all good.
Also set up a rather large Quail cage outside and they are loving it. Starting a second round of seeds started. That rabbit stew looks absolutely fantastic! Now I have to clean up and organize my garage which is air conditioned and start scouting for a pair of meat rabbits...
I laughed so hard when I saw feral and his hairdo! He is so stinking cute I would love to have a couple of babies of his in the future. Heather did you have something to do with his hairdo? Hahaha what was that natural? Oh my goodness so cute I can't stop laughing

And have y'all ever had to stay in your tornado shelter the entire night? I've heard of a few people who had.... being that we're now entering into tornado season, it would be a good reminder for many. Just thought I'd ask

All of our roosters have been very docile, however, we have Rainbow Eggers on order. They'll be a straight run, so we'll see what kind of roosters we get out of it. A couple of years ago I tried canning 1 rabbit to see how it went, but the jar broke so I haven't tried it. I like how pressure canning can turn a tough egg layer into tender meat. 7:00 “who cares that it’s messy when there’s so much going on”. Hahaha.
    Spot on!
(We’ve just found out that a neighbor is calling our homestead ‘the scrap pile’. It is not a very nice neighbor. 😉 - Not that our place is very pristine. But he takes it a bit too far! Of course he doesn’t say it to our faces though. Hahaha. 🙄🤭
Anyway. I was wondering if I’d missed the video in your goats series where you take apart (is that the correct expression? English is not my native tongue 😅) a goat. We’ve tried with our boergoat but got very tied up in a lot of silver skin. Was wondering if there are easier methods that we’ve missed. 🤔
Anyway. Sorry if im asking something that is there but I couldn’t find it. If it’s not there yet and you manage someday to make a video about that: that would be awesome!
For now: thanks for this one. And have a great weekend!

    • @SageandStoneHomestead

Try putting down beneficial nematodes in barn or other areas where the flies congregate. We have them every year pretty bad, but that has helped in the past.
