I was given a set of le Creuset cookware when I married 40 years ago. The marriage only lasted for 4 years because he was an abusive jerk, but my pots and pans are still going strong! ❤
Found an amazing deal on brand new second hand 4qt dutch oven and I foresee it lasting my entire lifetime (just now getting married & setting up my own house).
My mother in law was a quilter, she passed away in August. We each have a quilt that she made, a smaller lap quilt is in the living room, one on our bed and the other in my daughter's room 😊 they do get softer 😊
@normajean8105 I'm dedicating 2025 as a stash buster year. Meaning no more buying fabric or yarn until I used up at least 75% of what I have. I have also went through them this past week and donated what I know I absolutely won't use in the near future (things like baby prints, paw patrol, etc. as I'm at an age where none of my friends are having kids anymore, they're all past that age, but none of our kids are near the age of being parents themselves...hopefully lol).
I used same pots and pans from 1985 to 2012 then bought a new stainless steel set when I moved into my new house. Stainless steel pans will last forever! Although I have bought several bought non stick pans over the years 🥴
I have you all beat! My parents got married in 1950 and bought a LARGE set of stainless steel pots and pans. (Evidently, the salesman came to your house and cooked a meal and then you made weekly payments) I’m still using the entire shiny set almost 75 years later!🙌🏻

I have no needs for 2025. I am working on spending less. I have no control of utility bills and insurance but I do have control over my grocery budget. I will be buying no clothes. No shopping other than groceries only as needed. So glad to be debt free. Working on my savings. Thank you for all your encouragement and ideas.
I boil water on cold days to help heat my home. I turn on ceiling fan for a bit to circulate warm air. I also cook my dinner during the day to warm up house. Then I cover up on couch during the evening. Got electric throw for real cold days. Helps keep my heat bill down..
@nancycarney Yes, you DO have control over your insurance. I compare insurance coverage with different companies once or twice yearly. Some price match.❤
I had a single mom tenant that moved into an apartment I had been living in. Her electric bills were half of mine. She unplugged everything. Nothing got plugged in unless she was using it. No electric chords with little lights on all day, computer unplugged, everything. All those things we don’t think about are using electric all day and night.
I absolutely agree with the "you need to declutter more". I went through so many phases of this. Almost every time, I realized the special things I bought to organize my "simplified" space were completely unnecessary once I removed what I really didn't need.
We cut processed food this year and it has been amazing for our gut health. We do not feel terrible after a meal ever. We also cut sugar, which was hard but totally worth it.
I bought my cookware from a salesman that came to my door, Ware Ever brand heavy stainless steel. Not married then, but still use it daily after 52 years of marriage❤ Thanks for all of the ideas. I seem to be doing a very fine job already!
55 yrs ago I too bought Ware Ever pots & pans from a salesman who came to my parents home .I was 19 & engaged. This set Is the only one I have ever had. Did buy a cast iron fry pan along the way . Love my pans they are heavy in great condition and serve us well ..
40 years ago, i decided to switch from aluminum pots & pans to Revere Ware, but couldnt afford new. I started watching yard sales & flea markets and whenever i found a pot or skillet with its lid, i would buy it and then discard the corresponding aluminum piece. In 6 months, i had a complete set of pots & pans, and use them all to this day. I really like the concept of "something in, something out".
In 2025, I'm not buying anything that's being promoted by an influencer. I'm also not buying any shoes or clothes online. Local stores only. All because I end up with stuff that may not be terrible, but had I checked it out in store, I wouldn't have purchased.
I’ve always had a rule to never buy anything UA-camrs are peddling. I also want to cut down on internet shopping unless I am 100% sure I like it and there’s nowhere local to buy it. No more returns or lost packages for me next year. (I hope)
I understand you tubers need sponsers, but they get this stuff free! We don't. The mattresses, furniture and face massager are everywhere right now! 😂😂
@@rik80280 I bought 2 things that where recommended by influencers that did not work for me: Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balms (I was going to throw them in the garbage but offered them to my daughter, she was happy to get them from me.) and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
I make my own pizza using pasta sauce (if you're of Italian ancestry, please, have mercy on me--single mom here). When she was little, Daughter LOVED "decorating her own personal pizza. Saved money, spent time with Daughter, taught her to bake and cook, and made some great memories. ❤❤
We use pasta sauce for pizza as well. We doctor it up with some Italian seasoning and call is good. One time recently I bought the actual pizza sauce and my family asked me why it takes weird. 🤦🏼♀️
@12:00 YES! The Glade plug-ins and the other one made me so sick! I put on in and a day later I had a horrible migraine that would not go away. Two days later, I took them out to change the scent and just decided to leave them off for a few days and air the house. After about a week when we were going to have guests, I plugged them in again. Next day, MIGRAINES! Say NO, to those! Scented candles give me headaches, but not migraines. A nurse told me the same thing... as bad or worse for you than vaping.
1. Books (I could read for 5 years with the books I already have!) 2. Tea (unless I ACTUALLY run out) 3. Duplicates of cleaning products (use what I have first!) 4. Hydration mixes or powders 5. Hats and Gloves 6. Workout shoes 7. WATER BOTTLES (I clearly have an actual problem with buying too many of these.) 8. Going to try for clothes, but we'll see how that goes. Definitely with you on sweatshirts though! 9. New makeup (unless I'm ACTUALLY out of something)
I got an e-reader a few years ago as I need LARGE print to see properly if reading for hours and I have it hooked to my local library, which is fantastic to grab books from home!
As somebody who was not raised with ANY organizational tools.... Getting a few bins CHANGED MY LIFE. especially in the bathroom and on my nightstand. Cleaning is so much easier, I'm not knocking things on the floor anymore... Life changing.
Tip for removing odors in the air. Put out a small dish of vinegar. Works great. When you are done, throw it down the garbage disposal or the bathroom sink drain.
My rule is: if I purchase one thing, one thing has to go bye bye. This was AFTER I got rid of almost everything. I prefer simplicity. I’m calmer. And happier. There are so many other things I’d rather be doing than constantly cleaning and reorganizing ALL THE STUFF. 🤷♀️
I had a ton of toiletries from my hotels during my work travel. Tonight I made toiletry bags with some other things (raincoat, disposable wipes, socks, deodorant, hand sanitizer, toothbrush, and a few snacks) to hand out to homeless people tomorrow on Xmas.
Use spaghetti sauce in your chili recipe instead of tomato sauce, it's amazing !! My recipe is ground beef, spaghetti sauce, canned diced tomatoes, lots of onions and bell peppers and of course, garlic and chili powder. It's absolutely delicious and everyone loves it. Good use for all that ground beef and spaghetti sauce !!!
Good for you taking a deeper dive into processed foods!! We’ve been cutting way back on our processed food intake. My whole family has seen an improvement in our gut health and overall health.
Can we please have a home gym tour or just video? Maybe how to build one on a budget, or tips and tricks? Hubby and I are trying to build our first home gym in the basement!!
I made one for my basement. I live in a 1000k sq ft bungalow. In my basement is as n Elliptical, treadmill and weight machine. For all 3 PCs, which I got from Dicks sporting, I paid about 2k total.

As far as jackets I love my Columbia jacket with the Omni Heath lining, it's long and covers my legs almost to the knees, too, and it's so warm
I recently cleaned under my sink no more cleaning products, no more toiletries and today I did the pantry, I will not be buying any can foods until I need them.
You mentioned a whole bunch of things that I don’t buy now (soda, protein powder, dryer sheets, scent beads…) so I guess I’m doing pretty well already!😂
Our pots and pans were a wedding gift in 1996, and still look brand new - even though we use them daily. With those and two inherited cast iron pans, pots and pants are on our no-buy list for 2025.
My community was devastated by back to back hurricanes. Fortunately my home was spared but I left and I have been staying with family in another state for 3 months. I realize how very little I need. When I do return home I will do a massive purge of household and personal items. I just don’t want it.
Instead of dryer balls I throw a large dry towel or two in the dryer with wet laundry and it reduces the time your dryer is on. Also a clothes line works great and doesn’t use electricity.
6 months w/out soda on your first try is was actually really good!! Most ppl wouldn’t have lasted a week but you lasted 6 months that was pretty good!!!
I am doing a No-Spend January and decluttering throughout the month. However... I did find 15 cakes/skeins of my favorite discontinued yarn in FB Marketplace for $75 shipped - so I sent the year out on a high note - 😉 - and will be using one of the totes that I was so proud to empty out... 🙄
Great video Christine. I am not buying food until I eat through my stockpile(!) with the exception of some fresh items, like butter, eggs and vegetables. I will use the meat in my freezers before I buy any more, too. Tonight we are having Butter Chicken, rice, dhal and green beans. I just made your no-knead bread, and a batch of my toasted muesli (granola), all from my stockpile. ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
Just passed our 51st anniversary and we are still using the Faberware pans we got for a wedding present every day. Sometimes the pans get used two or three times a day. We love to cook!
You wearing the sweatshirts and jackets reminded me of Friends when Joey walks in with all of Chandler's clothes on. "Could I be wearing any more clothes?" :)
I bought a set of Revereware stainless copper bottom cookware in the mid 70's. Still using them. I was given a 5qt. Le Cruset Dutch oven a couple years ago, it's my go to pot for most things. I was also given an amazing wok that I use at least once a week.
It's absolutely true about scented candles, or anything labeled "fragrance or Parfum" as they can disguise any harsh chemicals in those labels. I am currently suffering from what the candles (and those wonderfully smelling Christmas tree sticks) did to my lungs. It will take me months of breathing therapy and cardio workouts to get my lungs back to where they should be. This happened to me a few years ago as well, but we didn't figure out the cause until this go around. And then I was on steroids for 4 MONTHS to get my lungs back. Use only pure essential oils if you need to use anything at all, but better to just keep things clean and air out any odors (like the bathroom) with a cracked window if you have it. Trust me, those yummy-smelling scents just aren't worth the health cost!
I hope you find relief! I'm sorry that happened to you. Fragrances are so dangerous. They are linked to hormone changes in women and infertility! Use organic essential oils in a diffuser or candles that only use essential oils. Fragrances or "parfumes" are a huge no no.
We made a startling discovery this year. Here is a must add to your to do list... check the amount of insulation in you attic. Over time insulation collapses and is not as effective. The majority of tempature changes happen in your attic. In the summer your roof absorbs a lot of heat. In the winter you will loose a lot of heat as the cold ceiling will pull the heat. This puts a huge strain on how efficiently your ac and heater can operate. Here's our story and the difference it made for us: Our home was built in 1940. We have lathe and plaster walls. They tend to be cooler in the summer but they also hold the cold so they are absolutely miserable in the winter. Even with the central gas heating set at 72 degees the rooms on the far side of the house and upstairs were 5 to 10 degrees colder so, we were having to supplement with electric heaters. We tracked the utilty cost and figured out that each electric heater was costing about $1 per day with setting the thermostats at 70 degrees on the electric heaters. At night due to temp drops they struggled to hold the rooms at 60. It was necessary to run them at night because we don't have ducting that runs to the 2nd floor. This summer was much better as well. It was common for the upstairs bedrooms to be over 100 degress and room air conditioners could not bring the temp under 85 degrees. This summer with out the room ACs running 24/7 it was rare for the temperature to be above the actual temp outside and running the ACS for a couple of hours before bed had the rooms comfortable enough to sleep in. Last spring we attended an auction and bought several bales of blow in insulation. This wasn something we had planned on... mostly it was a deal we just couldn't pass up. We calculated how far we thought it would go and purchased the balance from Home Depot. We brought the additional bales home and proceeded to cut all the bales in half to save on the time that would be needed for the machine rental. The next day we rented the insulation machine. 2 things here... one we over calculated the required amount of insulation we woukd need(we forgot to deduct the amount already in the attic and two the process was much quicker than we anticipated. Our original plan was to split the cost in to two years and do the single story addition with drywall walls the following year. However, as we had cut all the bales in half we could not return them. In hind sight cutting the bales before hand would not have been necessary as with a two person work team (husband and wife) it would have been easy enough to complete the project in the shortest rental time of 4 hours. (One person cutting the bales and liading the machine and the second person operating the tube to control where the insulation needed to go.) It turned out that with the all the bales cut we were able to do the entire house and we still completed it in the 4 hour rental time. End result... winter is here. We have had our first snow and a months worth of night temperatures ranging from 10 to 40 degrees. Some nights the electric heaters have not come on at all and there has not been a single night they have run all night. I just got both the gas and electric bill. By dollar value it doesn't appear that I have saved a lot comparing same month from the previous year however with rates sky-rocketing it turns out that this is actually due to rate increases. If I compare the usage by BTUs and Kilowatts there is about a 25 percent savings in usage and we are way more comfortable as well. Had we purchased everything at Home Depot and not had the savings from the auction purhase it would have cost us about $1200. After researching it this year, although it would be beneficial to replace older dual pane windows it is out of our budget, we are however taking a stop gap and adding sheer curtain panels and wood louvered blinds behind the curent curtains to add a second and third inulation rating to help control the temperature loss through windows.
I’ve had the same stainless and cast iron cookware since I got married in 2001! They look as PERFECT as the day I unboxed them with 23 years of cooking from scratch for our big homeschool family all day, everyday. There is a learning curve to cook in it without sticking but it didn’t take me long. I LOVE it
You are soooo funny. So, even this hard topic comes with its sugar to go down with the preaching to make it digestible. Love it. I'm making an additional list of 25 beyond what I have not been buying. It'll be fun to join your journey!
I am totally with you with the box stuff. There is so much that isn't as good for us as we think. I am looking forward to MAHA. Love the video. Thank you.
We did really good with our goals in 2024 which was very encouraging. For 2025 I’ve decided not to buy anything that makes me feel like crap or anything I have been full of regret over. Your advice about taking inventory of what you already have is so wise. It’s all about self awareness.
I pay $7.99 a mth for access to Netflix. I've given up buying DVDs. Less clutter. I gave up Amazon music and audible. I borrow things from the library.
High quality cookware, absolutely! I saved up and bought a stainless steel kitchenaid set probably 12+ years ago and they are still in fantastic condition. Used literally every day then hand-washed and air dried. (Canadian price was close to $700 but I saved up and bought on a super sale of about 250-300ish. So worth it!)
But it might depend on where you buy your books-one of my sources es was a charity shop for $.20/book! And don’t forget the gas cost to drive to the library-I’m over thirty minutes away.
Loved this! Regarding the candles - Etsy sells beeswax candles scented with natural essential oils - these are considered non toxic. My deal this year is to not purchase more. I have all I need and I don’t “need” anything - this excludes birthdays and Christmas. Instead, I plan to declutter, read more, garden and enjoy my friends and family. Add to the things that have true value. I’m ready!
I went from buying 2 clothing items every week to two items all of last year. Shoes of course Lmaooouuut. We hardly eat out and use our beautiful kitchen in our new home to cook all meals. Probably saved $40k in a year. We got 2 beautiful havanese puppies after our last dog passed and they're a fortune, but thats good money there.
My mom bought me a set of Revere Ware pots & pans I know 30-35 yrs ago & they are still like brand new. I too still use Corning ware that I bought used years ago.
Hoping to receive a stainless steel frying pan for Christmas and may buy one if I don't receive it. Otherwise, i try not to buy kitchen stuff. You are correct in saying that if you purchase high quality items once you will save a lot of money over time. I commend you for reducing processed food from your pantry. I look forward to seeing how you manage this challenge especially since you are such an innovative, thrifty cook. Merry Christmas.
I have a few newer pots for my glass top stove. My big old Dutch oven works on it too. Some of my pots were bought over 40 years ago when I was rich and single! 😂 I just need to carefully place my cast iron on my stove. So, what I’m saying is, the new stuff sits in the cabinet while I happily cook with my old stuff. 😂
We just got out of Debt using the Dave Ramsey program. Financial Peace. This year I am not buying anything that I do not need. We are focusing on finishing our house but not adding anymore things that we dont need. Im looking forward to more vacation time with my family.
Not sure if the scented candles are as toxic as cigarette smoke, but any fragrance makes me sick (laundry detergent, candles, perfume, etc). Many in my family have the same issue
Hi Christine, I haven't made a list of what I'm not going to buy but I'm going to make an attempt to use everything that I've had had for more than a year that is open like condiments on my fridge door to which I have tons of. Odds and ends in the freezer and snacks and anything open in the pantry. It's a process but the goal is to not buy any of what I already have open until it all gets used up. I did it in the past and it worked wonders so doing it again. Wish me luck🤞
@@pamelavance648 I'm happy that some are on board with me. I just used a small bottle of Italian salad dressing and marinaded some chicken with it then baked it. Oh my, very yummy.
We ditched the scented candles years ago when we realized they triggered headaches for one of our daughters. (Even open but unlit!) Now I make seasonal simmer pots in my tiny crockpot. Current scent has oranges, cloves, vanilla, and cinnamon. Smells like Christmas. 🎄 Lemon rosemary is another favorite!
You are so right. My husband is a collector of things he lives but could not have as a child. I contributed, by loving him and seeing him happy….. Now we are Decluttering. On two months taken enough to goodwill to clothe the county I live in twice over. You DO have to de clutter. HERE IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED… It is liberating. Gain space. Decorate and enjoy it. It is refreshing. I feel emotionally better than I have in years.. just do it. 🙏
If you use dryer sheets or fabric softner you should clean your lint filter with soap and water. The sticky buildup causes your dryer to work harder to dry your clothes, which reflects in power usage. Oh if running your dryer several times to get the load dry check for blocked or clogged dryer vent, it will help prevent a fire and save$$.
I use boxes to organize. If the box is blank on the inside I take the box apart and flip it so the blank side is out (only for the look) I use hot glue and packing tape to remake the box. I make them tall or short or narrow. Makes the closets look more uniform without a lot of cost (hot glue and tape) organizing is always an evolving thing.
I had to read Anna K in college. First half was hard for me to get through. After that, i was hooked enough to finish. It's good, worth saying youve read it.
lol after knocking diamonds out of ring 3 times and lots of scratches on wedding band, I went to silicone. I wear the real rings when I go somewhere other than to daily barn. I keep my farm tees and hoodies separate from the ones without stains and holes lol.
I like the process of an end-of-year sort. You can donate the excess to missions or other places in your community. (Your favorite thrift store.) Some foods, maybe not spices, are still good beyond their best by dates. But if you go through your supplies at the end of every year, this won't be a problem anymore.
I had that Cosori Air fryer. They recalled it, I sent the info and they sent a brand new one. Then the new one started smoking during preheat from the top. I tossed it and bought another brand.
Christine, I don't actually have a list of things not to buy in 2025, but I should make one. I do know I shouldn't buy anymore wood craft supplies. I recently did a reorganization of my office/craft room I was amazed how much stuff I have. I do have a lot of wood for a whole bunch of different projects. I should make a list of things to make with all the wood.

So I plan to be more mindful overall of what I purchase because I have bills to pay off and I want to then start saving more money. But I also have plenty of sweatshirts, shoes, and blankets! Oh, and jewelry. And I won’t add any streaming to what I have. I have Netflix and I did the Hulu Black Friday 99 cents per month for a year deal. I also need to stop buying something because it’s a really good deal. I’m a sucker for a really good deal. Great video and great list Christine! Happy holidays!
Great video to start the new year! Lots of things I can relate to...I thought I was the only one with the out of control blanket situation. It's just me and my husband (we are retired) so how many blankets do we really need? I just recently donated a lot of blankets. Our house is only 900 square feet with limited closet space so that really helped free up some space. Love your videos and have a Merry Christmas! 🥰
As soon as I saw the sweatshirts,I choked on my coffee laughing! 😄😄 this was one of my resolutions for 2025- I have more than 8 sweatshirts and I decided to stop buying any more. They are really comfy , but have taken over my entire wardrobe. I love your videos! Thank you!
I am a self-taught cook tho did take a cooking class to pick up some tips. As a single person I eat out often. I hope cooking more at home will cut down on food cost?
OMG too funny. I'm going to take a page from your playbook on some of these. I was thinking of buying a Valentine throw after work tomorrow. We'll see if I hold out!
And every year they get softer! Plus the most I pay even with fake sheepskin in one side is $17. Fleece ones only $8. So I let myself indulge. Gifts are always received well.
Just subscribed to your channel, WOW! I love your energy and wisdom on minimalism. I am a 2x breast cancer survivor and am not going to throw that away; eating healthier, much healthier this year; thanks for the ideas on everything in this video. Can't wait to go back and watch your previous videos ❤❤
For sweatshirts maybe try the 1 in 2 out method? Worked great for me and books! For items you know you are always tempted to buy make it a rule that you can only buy a new one once you have used up/donated/sold two you already have. That means when you stand in the shop thinking “this is lovely and I want to buy it” you also think about which ones you are ready to part with. Once you have your collection fitting in its space (took me three years😅 but it got there) you can change to one in one out. It really worked for me with high desire temptation items (books, stationary, plants, maybe for some people it is clothes or make up, hobby/sports supplies, whatever is hard for you to stop buying).
First video I have seen of yours! You had me rolling putting on all those sweatshirts! I'm sure a lot of people connected with this message. I too am decluttering. The shoes! Oh, the shoes! Why do we do this? You are hilarious. Dishes are a problem for me and of course the blankets. Probably got 4 new ones for Christmas. They were gifted! haha. Just subscribed and will be looking forward to more of your videos. Oh, and I just moved into a "tiny" house. Trying to only bring in what I use weekly!
Just fyi. My husband loves Ramen for lunch on occasion, but he cannot have the salt. So, he throws out the seasoning packet and uses sodium free bouillon powder that I keep in pantry. I thought that seemed a waste, so I investigated buying just the ramen noodles. Trust me they are waaaaay expensive to buy. I was aghast! Those little Ramen packages are cheap at 30-33 cents or so each. There's a reason a lot of recipes use the ramen packages for just the noodles. It's ok to throw out the seasoning packet; there are no ramen seasoning packet police. LOL.
After my dad passed, mom had an auction at the house before selling. My hubbs and I took that opportunity to clear out our house, (at the same time I was helping mom clear out hers!) and we added our stuff to the auction…worked great!❤️

I'm so proud of you for making it 6 months with no soda!! That's honestly a win! ❤
Love it! It can't break the bank when one at a time...less expensive and a complete set would sell for more ...just sensible and I love it ❤
The only way to have good pots and pans.
I love Revere Ware. Still my favorite.
eBay is a great place too to find items. I recently picked up some Corning ware for a great price and got rid of plastic containers.
We have our revere ware over 48 years. Love ygem
So no Helix mattress for you then? 😅

That didn’t make me sick, but they made my PET sick. No go for us!
OMG is this me?! Am I you?! No more water bottles, tea, drink flavor packs, cleaning supply duplicates here either!
As somebody who was not raised with ANY organizational tools.... Getting a few bins CHANGED MY LIFE. especially in the bathroom and on my nightstand. Cleaning is so much easier, I'm not knocking things on the floor anymore... Life changing.
I wrapped the tree in an old sheet and stuck in the basement decorated and unwrap it when needed
That is AWESOME!!
❤❤😂
Mee tooo😂 but I slide mine in the closet under the stairs. I love the tree. Hate decorating it. 🫢
Tip for removing odors in the air. Put out a small dish of vinegar. Works great. When you are done, throw it down the garbage disposal or the bathroom sink drain.
You could also do simmer pots with spices and fruit peals.
That 8s so thoughtful
I mean so thoughtful
Beautiful human 😢❤❤
We had lots of hotel toiletries from my husband’s work travels. I always donate it to the Salvation Army as they support areas of weather disasters.
Thank you. :)
Yes! I have heard and read that scented candles and incense are worse than smoking. So no, I haven't had those things in my house for over 20 years!
With you on quite a few of these!
I refuse to order any Shein or Temu.
And yeah...I do not need any more blankets. Lol
Nice tip! Making vegetable soup and don't have tomatoes? Add V-8....and no, the soup doesn't taste like V-8.
@ that sounds delicious too !
Don't forget beans!
@ yes ! They are great in chili too !
Yes, the garden combination sauce is great for this.
Good for you taking a deeper dive into processed foods!! We’ve been cutting way back on our processed food intake. My whole family has seen an improvement in our gut health and overall health.
Libraries are so incredible, I wish more people would utilize them.
I love that you put this out during a very consumerist time to encourage intentional consumption ❤️
Can we please have a home gym tour or just video? Maybe how to build one on a budget, or tips and tricks? Hubby and I are trying to build our first home gym in the basement!!
I feel like there is second Frugal Fit Mom channel that has a home gym tour?
I made one for my basement. I live in a 1000k sq ft bungalow. In my basement is as n Elliptical, treadmill and weight machine. For all 3 PCs, which I got from Dicks sporting, I paid about 2k total.
I’m not driving my car!! I’m catching the bus and I’m being more mindful of what I buy…I’m budgeting more & I will be gardening 🧑🌾 more too!!
That's awesome!

@@mravenwingwhat kind of coat do you have for winter... yes I've had mine at 10 yrs lol need something warmer
I moved closer to work about 4 years ago. I walk to work now. Built in exercise.
@@pamelavance648 I've lived in London and Germany where I spent A LOT of time outdoor even in the winter, I have also visited Finnish Lapland and Tromso.
But when you need the canned food it may be in the middle of an emergency and you won't be able to get any.
You mentioned a whole bunch of things that I don’t buy now (soda, protein powder, dryer sheets, scent beads…) so I guess I’m doing pretty well already!😂
Me too 😂
Our pots and pans were a wedding gift in 1996, and still look brand new - even though we use them daily.
Put an extra shower curtain bar in your shower and you can hang towels in your bathroom to dry. It works
@@That.Lady.withtheYarnwhat a great idea, why didn't I think of this.
6 months w/out soda on your first try is was actually really good!! Most ppl wouldn’t have lasted a week but you lasted 6 months that was pretty good!!!
Anna Karenina is my favorite book! I've read it 3 times and am due for another. I'm 62 so I read it roughly every ten years. Go for it!
I am going to do a no spend... quarter... I have done a month before, and now am going to do the 1st quarter of 2025.
That’s amazing!! Good luck to you!! I may attempt the same.
I did no spend December 😂
I am doing a No-Spend January and decluttering throughout the month. However... I did find 15 cakes/skeins of my favorite discontinued yarn in FB Marketplace for $75 shipped - so I sent the year out on a high note - 😉 - and will be using one of the totes that I was so proud to empty out... 🙄
Starting my declutter journey today and seeing how many days I can go without buying ANYTHING! Thank you for your videos. They help!
I am a quilter and when I gift a quilt I tell them it is meant to be used. Use your quilts.
I haven’t purchased a book since the pandemic. Only because the library was closed. And I love my books.
I don't know if I believe your story......
@@peggypeters6676I definitely believe her. Once you detox your home, artificial fragrances are terribly offensive.
I personally don't think essential oils are that great, I can't be around them. They kill my sinuses, I would rather be around a candle 😅
I hope you find relief! I'm sorry that happened to you.
Fragrances are so dangerous. They are linked to hormone changes in women and infertility! Use organic essential oils in a diffuser or candles that only use essential oils. Fragrances or "parfumes" are a huge no no.
Essential oils were worse for me than candles. So I scrapped them all. Don't miss them.
Here's our story and the difference it made for us:
Our home was built in 1940.
(One person cutting the bales and liading the machine and the second person operating the tube to control where the insulation needed to go.)
It turned out that with the all the bales cut we were able to do the entire house and we still completed it in the 4 hour rental time.
So excited you are eliminating scented candles and some of the ultra processed foods like Mac n cheese and ramen!!!
For cooking, I use all silicone utensils in my pots and pans. No scratches and scrapes, can keep pans forever.
Thank you for supporting the library!! ❤
I will commit to not buying any footwear, bags, purses or books in 2025. I have more than plenty 😬
My library tallies up how much we save per visit by borrowing and not buying. We have saved hundreds this year!!
What an incredible idea!
But it might depend on where you buy your books-one of my sources es was a charity shop for $.20/book! And don’t forget the gas cost to drive to the library-I’m over thirty minutes away.
Love your plug for the Library!! My daughter is a librarian. GREAT RESOURCE!!
Made sure I kept my library card when I retired.
I declutter my pantry, and I got rid of an unused food processor. I gave it to a friend who is a caterer.
Bottle water does have a place. Storms coming and it’s good idea to have. Plus the work truck. But I don’t drink it at home.
My mom bought me a set of Revere Ware pots & pans I know 30-35 yrs ago & they are still like brand new. I too still use Corning ware that I bought used years ago.
I got my Revere Ware for my wedding 30 years ago yesterday, and it is still going strong.
That's what I use too, old revere ware. I love it. Also been married 32 years. ❤

Right! I was doing the math like "oh my, 68 miles a day?!"
My pots are well over 55 years old.. don't ask me how I know! 🤣
We just got out of Debt using the Dave Ramsey program. Financial Peace. This year I am not buying anything that I do not need. We are focusing on finishing our house but not adding anymore things that we dont need. Im looking forward to more vacation time with my family.
Your darker hair looks so amazing. I'd love to see you in a lip color that's a smidge deeper than your own color- it would look gorgeous!!!

If you like tomato soup a quick hack is spaghetti sauce and some cream, and of course blend it if the sauce is chunky.

I like the process of an end-of-year sort. You can donate the excess to missions or other places in your community. (Your favorite thrift store.)
Some foods, maybe not spices, are still good beyond their best by dates. But if you go through your supplies at the end of every year, this won't be a problem anymore.
My local food bank refuse to take anything past the Best Buy date. Pretty wasteful if you ask me.
I had that Cosori Air fryer. They recalled it, I sent the info and they sent a brand new one. Then the new one started smoking during preheat from the top. I tossed it and bought another brand.

Great video to start the new year! Lots of things I can relate to...I thought I was the only one with the out of control blanket situation. It's just me and my husband (we are retired) so how many blankets do we really need? I just recently donated a lot of blankets. Welcome!!!
I have too many backups to backups for my stuff. Triple redundancy just in case.
I need to reconsider my food prepping.
You should read Jane Eyre if you haven’t read it yet. Highly recommend!
Also The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte.
I’ve been out of the country for a few months. Amazing what you can do without. Before I go home, I’m going to make a list.

LOL.
I watched a video of the live microorganisms that are in Ramen noodles. I got so grossed out, I no longer buy them.
@@beckyheinz7337 What doesn’t have microorganisms in it? You do realize they are in produce and meat right? You even have them in your body.
After my dad passed, mom had an auction at the house before selling. My hubbs and I took that opportunity to clear out our house, (at the same time I was helping mom clear out hers!) and we added our stuff to the auction…worked great!❤️
