How to Cut Woman Hair at Home with A Clipper

  • I thought that I can grow my hair long, but I couldn't, so I cut it short, short! I use a number 2 clipper guard for the nape. Since I have straight and thick hair, I cut it so I can move it in any direction, pixie, wispy, or spiky hair. I love to be able to move my hair in any direction and still have a wedge hairdo. Mostly, I use a clipper to cut vs. a scissor. For people who have fibromyalgia, a clipper saves their shoulders from pain, and if you can't get out because of COVID 19. Try this hair cut especially if you like short hair for the summer.
    Hello, I have fibromyalgia, and just last July 2019. I recently feel like myself again. My concentration will be mostly vegetarian Asian cuisines and Vietnamese foods for this channel and share my experiences and tips on staying positive with a chronic condition. I feel that cooking vegetarian foods. I have to grow many vegetables, herbs, and fruits on my own because of the extra cost of organic foods. Since I have another channel, I will upload once a month every Friday at 3 pm. Below are other links that I think that you all will enjoy.

    I am commenting as Ellen and I loved your video. After watching about 20 other videos I finally found the one I want to use. What you did that was different was to cut downward with the clippers instead of upwards at times. That really made the difference in the cutting. TY

    2 years later this is still INCREDIBLY helpful. I've been going to the same woman for my hair cuts since I was 2 ans now that I'm 23, she's now fighting back with me when I ask for short hair. "A married woman shouldn't have short hair, I'm not going to cut it like that picture!" "I don't like that new style kids your age are doing, those gaudy layers!" And recently we came to a "compromise" and she basically gave me a long bowl cut..... imma do this tonight.

      Thank you for your comment. Please take the larger clipper and work it slowly. Also, it is alright to make a mistake the first time. I cut my own hair for a long time. The first time was difficult because the mirror image was opposite my hand, but eventually, I got it exactly where I want them. If you have someone who helps you, the back will be much easier to cut. Good luck, please let me know how it turns out for you. Our hair is not about gender, and I am not less womanish because of my short hair, LOL!

      @@sharingwithseryna I honestly can't thank you enough! My husband held a hand mirror for me while I did it and it looks amazing! The back is a bit choppy because of the shape of my head and it catching the guard but it looks amazing! I couldn't be happier, thank you so much

    Well, I just keep practicing Syrena! I've gotten pretty good at doing the front, the top, & my very short, close cropped side burns. But, the back at the crown & just below the crown are still a big challenge with learning how to move the clipper to get a nice wedge. I'm so, so thankful my hubby's willing to devote 20 minutes to watching me work on it about every 3 weeks. He is going to take a shot at trimming the wedge in the back tomorrow with the clipper!! What a sweetie! Even though it's taken me a long time to learn what little I can do, I really enjoy doing it myself.

      Hello Michelle, that is so sweet that your husband is willing to help. My partner, he didn't want to get involved. Perhaps, he thinks that I am too picky, lol!

    Thank you so much for this video. I've wanted to blend the back of my hair but the only tutorials I found showed the clippers always being used upward, towards the crown. I love your method of using the clippers upwards at the nape and then downward, going with the growth of the hair, to blend it. I'm going to go give it a try right now. Your cut turned out awesome. I envy your beautiful thick hair. Mine is very fine and thin. Thanks again for sharing your skill and bright personality. :)

      Hello Barbara, I am so sorry to hearing that you have a hard time. On my video at 7:08, I pull my head upward and I cut it with a scissor and blend it with the side of the head. You can also use a clipper to cut across. Always leave about 5 to 6 inches long on top so this way you can cut more if you needed to blend both of the side.
      If you cut the bottom too short, the top may have to be shorter than what I have on my video. Please, cut a little of a time and pull out on the side, then you can control the length on top.
      Also, It is all right to have the length on top to be longer. The key is to blend the two sides . I hope this will help . Thank you for reaching out.

    • @sharingwithseryna
      @sharingwithseryna  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your questions. The size will depend on the brand. Mine is a Wahl clipper. #2 is 6 millimeters (mm). #3 is 10 mm, #4 is 13 mm, #5 is 16 mm. Remember to go with the longest you can at first. This way, you can see if your hair seems shorter because of the texture (thick, fine, and medium). I would go with number 8, 25mm, then works my way up to #4, 3, or 2 even those you have to spend more money to buy extra clipper guards. Good luck and have fun with it. It's a bit more challenge to cut your own hair at first, but once you get it. The sky's the limit!

    Looks fabulous! I am just starting to cut my own hair...full-time. I have dabbled for years. You give me courage for using the texturizing scissors which I need for my thick hair! are you still cutting your own hair? Thanks!

    • @sharingwithseryna
      @sharingwithseryna  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, I do. I have a part-time teaching job and with fibromyalgia condition. I get so tired and that is the reason I haven't uploaded much of anything.
      Yes, the first step was scary but if you practice enough you will get used to it. You also know where to leave it longer too. I am glad that you tried it. Now, everything is so expensive, that cutting your own hair is one expense that you can cut out of your budget.
      Thank you for your comments.

    I really WANT to cut my hair short (due to COVID it's a mess). I went and bought the clipper. I even bought the 2 inch guard so I could keep it a little longer but I got the clipper over a month ago. I don't have the guts to cut it two inches all over my head. LOL

    • @sharingwithseryna
      @sharingwithseryna  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it can be a scary thing at first. Perhaps, you can trim it with the clipper. I will upload another video how to trim your hair with a clipper. Maybe, you can utilize this technique and then slowly cut your hair short bit by bit. This way, it doesn't seem so drastic thing. Thank you for sharing your thought.

      Hello Maya. Sorry for the late reply. You should try to cut with guard number 7 and gradually move to guard number 5. With fine hair, it may look too thin if you cut with a guard number 3. Good luck and thank you for your comment and questions.

      I always love short hair, but my Vietnamese culture or (Asian) thinks that women or girls should have long hair. It also depends on the culture too. I think that many women or girls can still have short hair and be themselves. Thank you for your comment.

    • @sharingwithseryna
      @sharingwithseryna  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Eleanor. Thank you for your comment. With fine hair, you can use the largest clipper guard, but you have to be careful because if you make a mistake. It might take longer for your hair to grow because it is thin. Keep it shorter on top will help to make it looks fuller.
