How to Cut Woman Hair at Home with A Clipper
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 лис 2024
- I thought that I can grow my hair long, but I couldn't, so I cut it short, short! I use a number 2 clipper guard for the nape. Since I have straight and thick hair, I cut it so I can move it in any direction, pixie, wispy, or spiky hair. I love to be able to move my hair in any direction and still have a wedge hairdo. Mostly, I use a clipper to cut vs. a scissor. For people who have fibromyalgia, a clipper saves their shoulders from pain, and if you can't get out because of COVID 19. Try this hair cut especially if you like short hair for the summer.
Hello, I have fibromyalgia, and just last July 2019. I recently feel like myself again. My concentration will be mostly vegetarian Asian cuisines and Vietnamese foods for this channel and share my experiences and tips on staying positive with a chronic condition. I feel that cooking vegetarian foods. I have to grow many vegetables, herbs, and fruits on my own because of the extra cost of organic foods. Since I have another channel, I will upload once a month every Friday at 3 pm. Below are other links that I think that you all will enjoy.

“If you like short hair, cut it! Beauty is from the inside out.” 😍❤️❤️❤️ thank you! This was a great tutorial!
Lady!!! That was the best DIY clipper cut I think I’ve seen. It looks Great on you!!! Bravo! 👏🏽👏🏽👍
Thank you for your comment.
I am commenting as Ellen and I loved your video. After watching about 20 other videos I finally found the one I want to use. What you did that was different was to cut downward with the clippers instead of upwards at times. That really made the difference in the cutting. TY
YW. Thank you for your comments. Cutting my own hair for so long, I found cutting down has helped me tremendously, and I love to share anything that is useful to help all of us.
I need to cut my elderly mother’s hair who can’t sit up straight for long.?Clippers seem to be faster. I would like to practice.
2 years later this is still INCREDIBLY helpful. I've been going to the same woman for my hair cuts since I was 2 ans now that I'm 23, she's now fighting back with me when I ask for short hair. "A married woman shouldn't have short hair, I'm not going to cut it like that picture!" "I don't like that new style kids your age are doing, those gaudy layers!" And recently we came to a "compromise" and she basically gave me a long bowl cut..... imma do this tonight.
Thank you for your comment. Please take the larger clipper and work it slowly. Also, it is alright to make a mistake the first time. I cut my own hair for a long time. The first time was difficult because the mirror image was opposite my hand, but eventually, I got it exactly where I want them. If you have someone who helps you, the back will be much easier to cut. Good luck, please let me know how it turns out for you. Our hair is not about gender, and I am not less womanish because of my short hair, LOL!
@@sharingwithseryna I honestly can't thank you enough! My husband held a hand mirror for me while I did it and it looks amazing! The back is a bit choppy because of the shape of my head and it catching the guard but it looks amazing! I couldn't be happier, thank you so much
@@cleo2010able AWESOME! The first haircut is always challenging because you are learning a new cut. However, by the third time, you will learn how to improve and tailor it to your head's shape. Again, thank you for sharing your result, and enjoy your new look!
Well, I just keep practicing Syrena! I've gotten pretty good at doing the front, the top, & my very short, close cropped side burns. But, the back at the crown & just below the crown are still a big challenge with learning how to move the clipper to get a nice wedge. I'm so, so thankful my hubby's willing to devote 20 minutes to watching me work on it about every 3 weeks. He is going to take a shot at trimming the wedge in the back tomorrow with the clipper!! What a sweetie! Even though it's taken me a long time to learn what little I can do, I really enjoy doing it myself.
Hello Michelle, that is so sweet that your husband is willing to help. My partner, he didn't want to get involved. Perhaps, he thinks that I am too picky, lol!
Yes, the back is very challenging to do it on your own. It took me a while and many misadventures with it. But, I enjoy doing it on my own because I know my hair the best. Thank you for your comment and sharing your thought.
You are such an amazing soul. Gentle kind wise generous and happy.
Thank you for your comment.
Thank you so much for this video. I've wanted to blend the back of my hair but the only tutorials I found showed the clippers always being used upward, towards the crown. I love your method of using the clippers upwards at the nape and then downward, going with the growth of the hair, to blend it. I'm going to go give it a try right now. Your cut turned out awesome. I envy your beautiful thick hair. Mine is very fine and thin. Thanks again for sharing your skill and bright personality. :)
OMG! Yours is the only "downward" clipper cut tutorial I've seen. Thank you so very much for
uploading this. I have extremely thick, course hair & it's so hard to find a hairdresser that knows
how to deal with it. This tutorial is Perfect!
You're welcome. Thank you for your comment. I want to cut super short, but I can't because of my thick hair, lol!
Thank you for this, Seryna... Made cutting my hair more simple with the final look that I prefer... I only took the tips on how to trim the back. The front, I used my own approach. But the tip to cut the back is just priceless! Don't see the point of cutting my hair in hairdresser now 😊
So glad I found your way to cut my hair . I cut my hair with clippers up and had a terrible time.My hair needs cut again. Using the clippers to cut down I wouldn't have a lot hair up near my crown that I don't know what to with.Thank you so much.
Hello Barbara, I am so sorry to hearing that you have a hard time. On my video at 7:08, I pull my head upward and I cut it with a scissor and blend it with the side of the head. You can also use a clipper to cut across. Always leave about 5 to 6 inches long on top so this way you can cut more if you needed to blend both of the side.
If you cut the bottom too short, the top may have to be shorter than what I have on my video. Please, cut a little of a time and pull out on the side, then you can control the length on top.
Also, It is all right to have the length on top to be longer. The key is to blend the two sides . I hope this will help . Thank you for reaching out.
You are a delightful person. I have fibro too and long hair gives me head and neck pain. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, long hair gave me a lot of headache too. It's always my pleasure to give tips for those who have fibro to help them to live a productive and happy life. YW!
Thanks for this video! I've been searching quite a while to find a video that shows how to cut my own hair in the same haircut using mostly clippers, then doing a little trimming with shears, & also taking out bulk with texturing shears. You are hilarious, fun & you make it look easy & do-able.
Thank you for your comment. It was easy for me because I had been doing it for so long. It will become easier as you continue to cut your own hair.
@@sharingwithseryna Welcome, & thank you so much again Seryna. I've had my hair short for 3 years now, but I can't seem to get the cut & look I'm after at a salon. So, I'm going to try very hard to go thru each of those steps you explained & demonstrated so well. Maybe I'll get good at cutting my own hair. My dear husband is helping me a bit too, which is a blessing.☺
Amazing clipper cut.❤ please, can you tell me where you took your texturizing shears, or the link to it . Thank you so much 😊🇨🇦
I have watched your several times and I am ready to go for it. In watching this again I saw what you used the tennis ball for. I too have fibro but completely missed why it was there. Another good tip from you. Thank you so much.
You have beautiful hair and you look great with long and short hair. The short style is chic and sassy. Thanks for sharing and good health to you in 2021.
great directions. thanks for remembering to say the size of each guard.
You're welcome. Thank you for your comment.
Hi Seryna. Your hair is so beautifully thick. I think you can do just about anything with your hair. Great cut. Thanks for the video.
Looks fabulous! The best haircut, yet!
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I will be doing my first hair cut by myself this weekend and this is so helpful!
You're Welcome. Please remember to leave it longer than the length that you'd like to aim for in case you needed to blend the hair together.
Thanks for the tennis ball tip. I have Fibro too and arms up to do hair is REALLY CHALLENGING!
YW. I still use the tennis ball every morning and night. Or when I have to sit too long in one position.
You are amazing! Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for your comment!
Dang Woman!...U did a GREAT Job!👏👍💇 Thanks 4 posting! 👍😁🙌
Thank you. It's always my pleasure. Hope you get a lot out of the haircut.
You look great, lovely thick hair. Mine is very thin. I have a pixi and I cut it myself. I never saw that down with the blade technique before. I will use that next time. Thank you
You should use texturizing scissors on the side to thin & texture......it is cute despite some mistakes in cutting......
Thank you for giving yourself the same basic hairstyle I wear. lol I’m having problems with cutting my hair with scissors due to a worsening disability, but was terrified to try clippers. You were the first video that came up on Google and you answered all my questions. Many thanks.
Thank you for your comments. Yes, I’ve discovered the same things about the scissor, and it is my great pleasure to help others, especially with disability condition. Have fun with your haircut!
Turned out really nicely.
Wow! You done a really good job! Looks so modern!
Great tutorial, I was a bit nervous as first time cutting my own hair, but pleased with the result. Thanks 😊
Wonderful! If you are thinking of a trim in a later time, I just uploaded a new tutorial to help you to trim your hair with a clipper. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you Sernya for the tutorial, I certainly would try to trim my hair with the clipper. I have been wanting to do it but wasn't sure how to go about it, now I will do soon.
I will have another video coming soon. I am waiting for my new clipper to come because my old clipper was dying. And as an artist, I have to budget everything out. The video should come in a few weeks if you would like to wait. Thank you for your comment.
@@sharingwithseryna I just had my hair cut this morning, also with the help of my husband. Turn out good.
I've been looking for months for a tutorials but the majority are thin hair I been cutting my hair for a year now will try your techniques thanks
Please tell me how it works out for you. Thick hair is very different than thin hair. We need some texturizing for the hair to move in the direction that we wanted. Thank you for your comment.
Awesome cut! I have that hairstyle and i`ve been cutting my own hair for years now. 🙋♀️👍
That is bloody amazing!!!!
Thank you for your videos. Today I finally had the courage to try it myself thanks to you.
Hello Catherine, I hope the haircut works out for you. And thank you for your comment.
Thank you for your video. I watched it yesterday and cut my hair. Love the result too! 💕
I'm so happy that it turns out lovely. Thank you for your comment!
We could do without the music
I follow your instructions 😉 and I love my hair,THANKS
YAY!!! Awesome and my pleasure! Hope you would share with your friends or whoever needs a haircut.
I loved the extra long sides before you cut them! I would have left them. But your final cut is nice...just more edgy with the extra long sides. IMO.
nice haircut! Well done! I have been cutting my hair with a clipper too. I like your style!
You make it look so easy! Thank you for showing us your tricks! Love it!
Thank you for your comment. At first, it was difficult, but with many trials and errors. I figured out the best way to make the cut more simple.
@@sharingwithseryna I ordered a nice clipper set with all the different guards. It arrived today and I'm excited. I will watch your video over a few times and then go for it! Thank you again for sharing your expertise!!!
@@millymixon4826 Great! Please watch the video below also and remember that you can use the largest clipper guard and work your way down, so you don't cut shorter than what you wanted. Please let me know how it turns out for you. Have fun with your first cut. ua-cam.com/video/e5BdKbM5hQ0/v-deo.html
I wish I could clipper cut my own hair. I'm too chicken.😩😭 Congrats to you for having the courage, and thank you for showing others how to do it if they're brave enough!❤️
Hello Jade, it's very scary at first for me too, but I couldn't find anyone to cut my hair the way that I needed, so I went for it. I made a couple of mistake, but I learned from it. Thank goodness, that my hair grows out faster than usual. Hope you will have the courage someday. Thank you for your comment.
Awesome, very useful tips, I cut my hubby’s hair with clippers for years already but never adventure to do mine, I think I will!
Thank you for the comment. I see that you also have short hair too! It's so much easier to maintain. Have fun with the cut.
Very nice cut you did well and if you feel its hard to control the clipper and you are doing your hair now l look at a rechargeable clipper it is less heavy and works well I have been doing hair 32 yrs
Hi Cheryl, thank you for the tips. I never use a rechargeable clipper. I will try to get one. Thank you for watching and your tips.
@@sharingwithseryna anytime been doing hair a lot and i applaud people who can do their own during these times.I know it is hard and it makes you feel better

What a cute and lovely haircut...! good job !😃❤️
Great job on your hair and your instructions for it !! It looks super cute I will save you
thanks that was a great help, I have not used clippers but thinning shears and regular scissors my clippers are with the courier and should be here Monday thanks for the video
Hello Happynapper, thank you for your comment. If you have used scissors before, the clipper will be fine. Have fun with it and my pleasure.
I've just started using clippers to cut my hair so I definitely appreciate all the helpful hints I can get. Thank you for the video!
Also, your hair looks great!
Thank you for watching. Yes, using the clipper seems difficult as first, but when you get use to it. It's actually easy and fun.
You prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf lately :)
@Emerson Jedidiah Yup, have been using Instaflixxer for years myself :)
Yes! I agree!! Seryna's hair is just gorgeous !
Love your personality. I had that long hair phobia.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I used to have it too.
Seryna pull the lever all the way up to trim top without guard it will cut better You did great love it 💜💜💜💜
Thank you so much. With my old clipper, I was able to pull up the lever, but with the re-chargeable clipper. It doesn't have that function.
If you turn clippers upside down you can layer and cut.
Thank you Johnna. I have tried your technique for my next cut, which I will upload soon. It works so great.
You are so pretty Seryna, you'd look great in any hairstyle.
Thank you, Michelle, for your comment. I like short hair because I was forced to have long hair all of my life, lol.
Great explanation 👌 👍 👏 😀
Thank you for your comment.
I just watched your video, but i have very fine and very little hair, but i will try, thank you for Sharing 😊
Hello, with fine hair, you want to go to the largest guard, number 20. It will leave you about 21/2 in length, and always try the bottom hair up in the back to see if it will work for you. Good luck. Thank you for your comment.
@sharingwithseryna the highest guard number I have is 8 ,
Guard #8 will leave your hair only 1 inch, which might be too short. However, if you have fine hair and a lot of it, then it might work. The best time to test your hair is during the summer. It will grow faster than the winter. I hope you find this useful. @@delfinadiem3158
Love your hair. 🤩 Can you specify the combs that you used in mm? I can't quite catch the size 4, 3 and 2?
Then I will have more confidence to do mine. Thanks!
Thank you for your questions. The size will depend on the brand. Mine is a Wahl clipper. #2 is 6 millimeters (mm). #3 is 10 mm, #4 is 13 mm, #5 is 16 mm. Remember to go with the longest you can at first. This way, you can see if your hair seems shorter because of the texture (thick, fine, and medium). I would go with number 8, 25mm, then works my way up to #4, 3, or 2 even those you have to spend more money to buy extra clipper guards. Good luck and have fun with it. It's a bit more challenge to cut your own hair at first, but once you get it. The sky's the limit!
@@sharingwithseryna Thank you for your details. I'm sure I'll give it a try! 👍
Great cut!!!!
Very very beautiful.
I really like it a lot 👏💋💕😍
EXACTLY WHAT I WANT....YOURE THE GREATEST.....
Thank you so much for your comment. I am so glad that it helped you.
Good job!
You did a great job I wish I was able to do mine 👍

Thank you for your comment and compliment. Please remember to cut it longer and then slowly go shorter, especially it’s your first time. Also, please let me know how it goes. Do check out other hair videos to get more tips.
Great job!
Thank you for your comment.
Looks fabulous! I am just starting to cut my own hair...full-time. I have dabbled for years. You give me courage for using the texturizing scissors which I need for my thick hair! are you still cutting your own hair? Thanks!
Yes, I do. I have a part-time teaching job and with fibromyalgia condition. I get so tired and that is the reason I haven't uploaded much of anything.
Yes, the first step was scary but if you practice enough you will get used to it. You also know where to leave it longer too. I am glad that you tried it. Now, everything is so expensive, that cutting your own hair is one expense that you can cut out of your budget.
Thank you for your comments.
You are so clever and brave 😍
Looking good 👍🌟
Thank you for your comment.
Thank you.
I really WANT to cut my hair short (due to COVID it's a mess). I went and bought the clipper. I even bought the 2 inch guard so I could keep it a little longer but I got the clipper over a month ago. I don't have the guts to cut it two inches all over my head. LOL
Yes, it can be a scary thing at first. Perhaps, you can trim it with the clipper. I will upload another video how to trim your hair with a clipper. Maybe, you can utilize this technique and then slowly cut your hair short bit by bit. This way, it doesn't seem so drastic thing. Thank you for sharing your thought.
@@sharingwithseryna Thank you!! :D
Grow it all back, and you will be a siren, Girl!!!
That is one hip haircut! 💕
Thank you. I just love short hair.
This is so helpful, thank you!
I am so glad that it works out for you. YW! Thank you for your comment.
@@sharingwithseryna You're welcome! I see that some people give you tips. If you like to thin and texture your hair a lot, there is a technique that is really good. I can put a link to the video here if you like.

Thank you.
Which type of clippers do you have, I am looking to buy some and need some guidance . Thanks
Hello Jane, I always use Wahl clipper. I recently ordered a wireless/wire one since one of my subscribers suggested it and my old one was getting dull and funky. I will test it out next video since it wireless but here is the link to the kit that I bought.

Thank you for your question. Hope it helps.
Thank you . I just need the courage to give it a go now .
I have very thin fine hair what number of gaurds should i use? I love your video and i have chosen to use your methed to cut my own hair...thank you!
Hello Maya. Sorry for the late reply. You should try to cut with guard number 7 and gradually move to guard number 5. With fine hair, it may look too thin if you cut with a guard number 3. Good luck and thank you for your comment and questions.
@@sharingwithseryna no thank you very very much!
Good
Hi. Hello. Howdy. I like short hair. I am w you about the work involved w long hair. I guess it depends on the person.
I always love short hair, but my Vietnamese culture or (Asian) thinks that women or girls should have long hair. It also depends on the culture too. I think that many women or girls can still have short hair and be themselves. Thank you for your comment.
Love your hair
Thank you so much and for your comment.
Your words resonate with me. Thanks 😊
Thank you!
Brave woman!
Good video, I like.
Super cute!
Thank you.
I really appreciate the back, but the front and top is not what I'm looking for. Still a really good back of the head tutorial!
Also, oil your clippers, they sound like they are struggling. 😊
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. Yes, this wireless clipper is much weaker than the one that is not wired.
your video is very interesting. I live in Belgium in Europe and we don't have the same clipper. Can you tell me how long are the different guards you are using. Thanks.
thank you for your response so quickly. Thank you for answering in mm and not in inches. It’s very helpful . I have a Braun clipper with guards that match the length you gave.
It looks good but l have double chin and you need defined bones for a pixie cut xx
Thank you.
Are you a hairdresser?
Wow you did such a great haircut 👍👍👍can I come to get a haircut too 💇🏻♂️😀

Yes, your hair should work for this cut. Just make sure to cut long then cut more, so you don't cut too much. Thank you for your comment.
Very cute..
Thank you for your comment!
Thank you. Having gone from "grateful dead" to "Sinead O'Connor" look, I will know better next time!
You're welcome. Sinead O'Connor is beautiful without hair. You probably is too, but do try this hair style next time. Thank you for your comment.
You're the sweetest and so much fresh forward, very encouraging! Thank you ♡
I wish I had good hair. It's fine and getting thinner.
Hello Eleanor. Thank you for your comment. With fine hair, you can use the largest clipper guard, but you have to be careful because if you make a mistake. It might take longer for your hair to grow because it is thin. Keep it shorter on top will help to make it looks fuller.
