This is EXACTLY what I needed. My husband has ALS, and I have been trying to cut his hair while he is in his wheelchair. This will help me to feel more confident. Thank you!
As an older apprentice barber I really love your videos. The animations and highlights on things like weight lines and sections really helps! So glad I found this Channel!
Thank you so much for this video, I just cut my boyfriends hair for the first time using this video and he loved his hair cut. He never likes his haircuts ever because they always mess up the front and this video is 100% why he loves his haircut so much
Used this to cut my sons hair! I was always afraid to cut his wavy, thick, longer hair. This gave me the confidence and he loves it. It’s not perfect I’m sure but if he likes it, I’m happy.
I used this video to cut my own hair and it turned out awesome!! Ive only ever cut my bangs before when my hair was a bit longer, but I decided to take a leap and do it myself since its hard to afford getting a hair cut. I couldnt be happier with the results!!! Thank you so much, I will definitely be continuing to use your videos as references. Fantastic job you're doing here!!!
And here is me watching your videos over and over again and... And feeling confident to go and cut my husbands hair!😂😂😂 I loove the animations so helpful!! I made some drawings according to your animations so that I watch from time to time what I have to do! Thanks! 😁
You explain everything very well, and it's extremely important so we can learn to use the scissors ✂️ properly. In the U.S. there are still some people who like a good scissor cut, but it's not a common thing. I think a scissor over comb cut is a very handsome cut with very well defined layers, and you teach it so well. I agree that it's important at some point to own a pair of great scissors. Thanks for being such a great teacher and it is NOT BORING, and I am determined to get as good at it as you are. Cheers✂️🙏
Thank you Jack. I think I prefer cutting with scissors too. It give so much more control. You can easily cut hair the same way I use it’s just practice and repetition.
I was surprised when I walked into the barbers and asked if anyone could do a scissor cut and not a single barber in the shop knew how to use scissors so they said sorry we don't know how to do scissor cuts. So I had to go to a different barber and only 1 girl in the other barber shop knew how to use scissors because she worked as a hairdresser and she still did a terrible job.
During the lockdown I learned to scissor cut my husband's hair by watching this channel. I've gotten so good at it that he still has me cutting his hair, even though shops are all open again. 😎
@@theoneminutebarber I think you mean “fade into oblivion”…😂 But on a serious note, haircuts seem to be shifting from clipper fading skills only, back to highly skilled scissor work. I’ve noticed a big difference since I started using scissors on the top of my head, instead of an 8 or 10 guard.
Thank you so much for this video! This was my second time ever cutting my husband's hair, and it looks great! His hair grows really fast so this will save us a lot of money. Thank you again!
Thank you for recreating this with animation to give a visual. Shear over comb has been a challenge for me but putting in my reps and your videos are helping me get there. 😊
my hair was driving me crazy insane so i put this on, went into the bathroom with a wide tooth comb and craft scissors, and snip snip snipped away. the back was a liiittle bit challenging but it turned out pretty nice!!! thank you for the video!!!

I’ve always had a hard time visualizing scissor over comb because no one seems to fully explain it. You’re amazing, thanks again!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. Today I gave a haircut to my husband, my very first attempt. We didn't have proper guards for the trimmer at home so I had to use scissors... I think I did a pretty decent job.
Never boring my friend! I'm soaking all this great teaching information in, great content. Lots of barbers including myself struggle with scissor over comb
Not boring at all! I greatly appreciate your explanation. I normally been cutting my kids hair I need a bit more practice on scissor over comb. Thank you keep up the great work!!!

I'm doing research on how to scissor cut for my husband. I left the clippers at our old home but he wants me to cut his long beautiful hair 😢 haha So here I am 😊
@@theoneminutebarber It did! You're videos are so helpful. I like the animation in them. I've watched other barber videos but they don't describe it in detail the way yours does. Do you ever use this method on shorter hair (that wants to stand straight out) ? Or do you just transition to tension cutting for those types? I have several grey clients who like it very short, and I struggle with this method because their hair is either so lightweight or wiry it's difficult to do this technique with it being short. I'm wondering if perseverance will pay off or if I should just continue do tension cutting for them.
If it’s too short for this technique I recommend clippers. Like you say it can be messy looking if it’s too short, that’s exactly what I find. So go with clippers.
Thanks for the videos, I started to cut my husband's hair watching your videos , still I can not get the left side the way that I would like, almost seems like the hair does not lay down, maybe I'm cutting it to short, I tried to follow the same length all around the head except for the top, next time I'm thinking not to cut that section. I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you. When it comes to the hair at the side, it's rare that it is symmetrical on anyones head. If you look closely at everyone you can see it. All you can do is try your best to achieve the best symmetry
35+ years master barber here. Ive watched a few of your videos on scissor over comb cuts. I've noticed you aren't cross checking vertically in the back. You're also not texturing the hair around the crown which would make the hair look and feel less heavy. Jussayin'.
I occasionally include cross section information in my videos. In this video I never. Can’t say why, I must have been happy with the cut during the blow dry. Re texturing the crown, I’ve never textured a crown but that’s not to say I wouldn’t, I would if I had that knowledge.
Thank you alot for a video! I need to learn it right now, you have explained great! I'm sure you are right about long scissors, cause 5.5 jaguars it's difficult for me, but gonna try learn with them,or just to buy cheap long scisoors for a learn how to do it :)
Hey Nikki, I can’t believe you asked me that because I was actually going to talk about that in the video and now realise I never😂 I work from the top down because I don’t want the weight from the section above laying on top of the section I’m trying to cut. If I work from the top down I only have the section and hair I want to cut as nothing laying on top. Does that make sense?
in the scissor over comb, how do you feel confident that you're taking off the same length at each turn of the comb? I dont know if i am the same distance from the head at the start of each section.
If you have a constant distance from the head you are copying the shape of the skull on the ends of the hair. It is called a uniform layer. I tend to adapt to make something more natural. Cutting hair without tension gives you that kind of artistic license
I don’t have a specific double crown video but do have this video which might help 3 ways to Cut the Crown of a Mans Hair ua-cam.com/video/Ss6f5sP28ZM/v-deo.html
Are you able to post any videos on mannequins too please? I have a demonstration haircut interview on Sunday. Also, are you able to do long hair too explaining how to do layers please? I only watch your videos. You explain everything the easiest and most simple way of doing haircuts. I appreciate you so much!! 🥺 Everything now is just practice practice practice because you make your videos look easy, and it’s not 😅

Thank you alot for a video! I need to learn it right now, you have explained great! I'm sure you are right about long scissors, cause 5.5 jaguars it's difficult for me, but gonna try learn with them,or just to buy cheap long scisoors for a learn how to do it :)
Glad it was helpful! Longer scissors will help you big time for scissor over comb
@@theoneminutebarber correctly! Thanks, take care! :))
Trying to cut my own hair like this but when would you use thinning shears and in what method?
I pretty much don’t use them.
I cut my sons hair , he doesn’t like the barber, thank you for this video !
My pleasure
What type of brush was that? Thanks
Can you use a liter comb on this haircut so that this old man can see the guide. Great haircut
I will I’ve been using red, white and purple combs in more recent videos
You did a good job.😊
Thank you! 😊
Why do you over comb from top to bottom and not the other way ?
Hey Nikki, I can’t believe you asked me that because I was actually going to talk about that in the video and now realise I never😂
I work from the top down because I don’t want the weight from the section above laying on top of the section I’m trying to cut.
Very helpful very informative thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Me encanto su técnica gracias Guatemala❤❤❤❤❤
Gracias
Nice good job
Gracias hermoso corte!!

Are you able to post any videos on mannequins too please? I have a demonstration haircut interview on Sunday.
Also, are you able to do long hair too explaining how to do layers please? I only watch your videos. You explain everything the easiest and most simple way of doing haircuts. I appreciate you so much!! 🥺
Everything now is just practice practice practice because you make your videos look easy, and it’s not 😅
Bonjour, I have some mannequin work on my Udemy scissor cutting course but nothing on the channel. Mannequins are much harder to cut on. I really wish you all the best on the skills test. I’m rooting for you.

Mudah untuk dipahami
How long are these shears? Excellent work as always
These are 7” Columbus scissors from quartered steels
Sorry I had to ask, watched with sound off the first time
Super Danke
Danke ☺️😁
How long does that neck last for before there hair grows back. By the way great video.
How long until the neck hair becomes visible? It will probably look messy again in 3-4 weeks.
Can i cut my hair by myself?
This would be difficult to do yourself
