- Genma is one of those Naruto characters that everybody recoginzes but people usually don't remember him. But how strong was Genma? What were Genma's true powers? He was Minato's bodyguard and certainly the strongest Hokage guard the Leaf Village has had.
Genma knew the Flying Thunder God taught to him by Minato and was the proctor of the finals of the Chunin Exams where we had the Genma vs Baki fight. Sure, it was off screen but it was something. In the War Arc he pursued Muu and fought alongside Mei to protect the Feudal Lords. There was also the Genma vs Sound 4 fight in the Sasuke retrieval arc. Mostly off-screen too.

Genma was always one of the coolest secondary characters to me. The fact he was so mysterious yet so powerful and chill makes him so memorable. Plus hes voiced by JYB
We could have had a spin-off if this dude and like 20 other characters but we got a jump to an imaginary future with robots instead 😅

Her abilities could have been developped further with sealing and different kinds of projectiles. Yet she was used as a placeholder for her team's three-person cell... Most women in Naruto exist to fill empty spots or to further the development of the characters around them... Even Tsunade, a whole hokage, ended up falling for that same issue 😢😢😢@@zcubeDbz

The skill level is so inconsistent. Anbu are supposed to be crazy good, but they end up jobbers for the most part.

Genma was at most 17 years old when Minato died.. we know this cause he is 3 years older then Kakashi in part 1 and was part of Team Choza while Kakashi was in Team Minato.
his age got retconned to being only like a year older than Kakashi. But he was indeed initially listed as being 3yrs older than Kakashi.

Genma is one of those side characters that you just hope for. Cool design, chill attitude, good to excelling at his job, kinda wanna see more, he's one of the characters you kinda just like, even if he doesn't do too much in the story, like Teuchi, doesn't do much, beloved and respected for a good reason.
I felt the same way. I just wanted to see a little more action from him cause I know he skilled and tactical.

japanese haircuts in anime are actually somewhat real, the shapes are similar to the samurai/ronin's haircuts which are not evenly cut, untreated and/or is let to grow very long

He's one of the most chillest and admirable character in Naruto.

If he’s a special Jonin then he’s definitely Jonin for his combat skills, his taijutsu and ninjutsu are very strong, it’s possible his espionage and assassination skills just weren’t up to snuff, but he got Jonin title for his strength, like Might Gai(Guy)

I always thought he was so cool, so much that when I was making an RP with my friends I picked him to be the master of my character... Who ended up fighting nothing like him and becoming a medic for the party instead.

Not treating someone special to you is like not talking to a hot girl. Dont mess up yourself or them. Just let it be. No one would dare approach the hokage. Same with naruto. Many fear the beasts, others wouldn't want to be cought up in stuff that may turn sour for no reason. That is what i give leniency to the strange story of naruto. The problem with having so many characters is if you give them all screen time, no time passes. The first naruto battle takes the entire first season. Zabuza.

Genma and Raido fought the Sound ninja 4 who ALL were forced to use curse mark stage 2 to end the fight AND they were beaten, but the 4 had to retreat without finishing the job. Greatest fight we've never seen
You'd think that being that close to Minato would let them at least check in on Naruto from time to time
And he handled his own against the four sound ninja while being outnumbred even though they were defeated , they showed those sound ninjas as being totally exhausted and even used the second level of the curse mark to take them down

He was really Powerful because both raido and genma fought with orochimarus four strongest test subjects nearly defeated them and eventually forced then to use the second form of their cursed seal . He is a elite jonin.
