But I understand why people have a hard time believing the continuity because of Lee and Neji in the episode and knowing we weren't introduced to them until the chunin arc.
Kakashi should have felt uncanny that Houki not just was idolizing him, but following all the same mistakes he also did as a child, being very uptight and by the book, and not really trusting his teammates.

Lost his sensei and his sensei's wife by 14 after a demon attached his home. Learned his savor and childhood hero was in fact alive the whole time and became a mass theorist who was this close to destroying the world and did in fact start a world war. And let's not forget, Kakashi has been fighting in wars since he was *6*. Just saying, It's pretty damn impossible to let go I would imagine. Anyone would be heavily traumatized, and you can't just let go of that... But I think Kakashi has done amazingly at being able to live through that, and eventually get a pleasant life and find some peace. The trauma is still there of course.

He's the one intentionally holdin himself back just cause he doesn't want to let go of those memories cos it gave him a hard lesson in life but that, doesn't mean he must stop living it. And Guy is awesome and has been his friend from the start, and Kakashi has clearly learned that a long tome ago by this point. He and Guy has been bff's for years by now. Even in shippuden, it just shows you just need a good teacher to help you challenge to grow & improve if one wants to become better. After watching Houki's result under the training of Sai, makes me invested on team 25 capabilities & potential for them to shine. Hope they have more screen time as well for further episodes. Same goes with Metal Lee's team especially the one with the hat. It's refreshing to see.
Houki vs Inoji taught me two things. Kid has massive chakra and he is my new favorite character. Filler or not he brought me back to watching the series.

Kakashi recommended Sai to handle Team 25. When you've got a Jònin like Sai, you know your team we'll be doing okay. Besides, in terms of discipline and workmanship, Sai has got some resemblance to kakashi.
Team 25 is one of my favourite teams in Boruto. Also, the fact that Team 25 is under Sai and does ANBU Black Ops intel investigation makes it more interesting knowing that Kakashi used to be in ANBU.

Idk why the kid hides his eye though. For Kakashi, he had a permanent Sharingan that could not be deactivated at will and ate his chakra which is why he kept his eye closed and hid his eye.

I feel like this kid should have had a dope Earth chakra release. & that’s the only one he’s capable of, but since it’s the only one he can do, he’s made the most of it & we get to see the most badass Earth style Jutsus from him, also kinda wanna see him go bad, the way we thought Kakashi was going to in his dark, younger years.

Fr I want a ninja world type series where they still got the villages stuff like that but isn’t based off a uzumaki or uchiha or any clan I know it would be cool to see a random kid that wasn’t a descendent from a strong clan just some random kid become strong naruto was a descendant from two strong clans so it makes sense he got strong but a random kid that doesn’t have any strong descendants that would be cool

Houki REALLY needs to know what was it that made Kakasi who he actually is today now so he wont have to make same mistakes & wait to learn from them
Maybe it would be more great for Houki to grow naturally since he didn't know Kakashi's whole Biography and his life that much depth as we watchers know so ig it would take time but I think Houki would be really interesting character in future

Idk why the kid hides his eye though. For Kakashi, he had a permanent Sharingan that could not be deactivated at will and ate his chakra which is why he kept his eye closed and hid his eye.

Imma be piss if his character development stops, it would be cool if he becomes the perfect ninja kakashi dreamed of, basically passing all his wisdom to him. Making him experience all of kakashi's flaws then having kakashi himself guide him through it.
please just, give me at least 1 or 2 episodes based on the other teams, they look so interesting and this episode shows what those episodes could look like
Team 25 is actually a really good choice of mixt of member ,the quarantine wall , the girl ability and wish kakashi memory are good assets.

I feel like this kid should have had a dope Earth chakra release. & that’s the only one he’s capable of, but since it’s the only one he can do, he’s made the most of it & we get to see the most badass Earth style Jutsus from him, also kinda wanna see him go bad, the way we thought Kakashi was going to in his dark, younger years.
