PrinceDarkness car needs to go to euro ncap or american ihs but company can choose between leeting people see crash test or not so thats why you dont see videos about expensive cars... rimac automobili will make 150 new c2 hypercars if you know what is rimac company is from my state, ceo of rimac said they need to crash 20 cars for crash test and they only made 150 of this cars
Miles B I'm sure they have. Just never seen a video in high quality showing it this way until now. Good to know there are people trying other than Volvo too!
Mr supercar are you on drugs its and ugly boring looking shitbox that only America could design. That's why they love the commodore or Chevy SS as they laughingly refer to it as because it had nothing to do with them or any of they're designers. Look at the mustang with its 2 star safety? Rating what a joke only ford could get away selling shit like that to mid life crisis old fools and spankers who think they're a great car.
I had the opportunity to drive this car for two weeks, I had no idea that Lincoln was producing Continentals again. This automobile totally surprised me, the handling, comfort in the cabin, very little road noise at 90 plus miles per hour, I never had to repeat myself with the telephone commands, and plenty of power. It may not be the most attractive or sexist automobile on the road, but for the money, she had my (and a couple of others, and one of which a GTC4 Lusso Ferrari owners) undivided attention, well to be fair, at the very least, as we pulled out the parking lot of Morton's Steakhouse. In closing, whether your choice Ruth Chris or Morton's Steakhouse, in choosing the Lincoln Continental, you will not be disappointed.
It's to get a better view of the dummy's head movement in the collision. The seats are usually tested separately in a rig that instantly accelerates them forward simulating a rear end collision
I drooled over the new Continental at a dealership several months ago while my Focus was in for routine maintenance. The one I sat in there was this color blue with the black leather...beautiful car! I would like to see this car offered with a 4-cylinder and plug-in battery pack like the Fusion Energi in order to achiever higher fuel efficiency. Too bad this car was sacrificed for this test but the public has the right to get an unbiased safety assessment.
Most modern vehicles have a passenger seat occupancy sensor, which will disable the front passenger airbags if a occupant weighing approx. 75lbs or less (or empty) is in the seat. This does two things: prevents unecessary deployment if there is no passenger, reducing repair costs, and if there is a small passenger, prevents serious injury from the airbag.
Nice, except some idiot marketing director must have insisted on putting directional wheels on the car. Pointing aft on the port side of the car and pointing forward on the starboard side of the car. Even Corvette and Porsche guys have given up on this nonsense. If the top supercars can use straight spoke wheels, then this car does not need directional wheels. The same with idiotic directional tires that are not useful for most driving. Asymmetrical tires are a different story. They can be useful in regular driving.
lee hancock Right. But before it broke away, it was pushed into the back of the wheel well and deformed it extensively. On the other side of that, there are the pedals.
I would like to know if the car would stop if Say a child ran out in front of it from between two parked cars it seems to avoid on moving objects which is all good but what about a moving obstacle like a child
Is that what a Lincoln Continental looks like now? What have they done to what was such an icon? They obviously gave the designers a photo of a Jag and said "just copy that." I used to know I was in the States when I saw a Town Car, Continental or Crown Victoria. I'll have to pick some new reference points now. :)
i swear that small over lap crash test is a waste. I have see a lot of accidents n not 1 of them have been a 25%. Its been the typical 50%, head on, or side crash....
Thegreatjoker13 You haven't seen it, but it does occur. And when it does occur, you'll be thankful that cars have been designed to keep whoever is in the front seat safe.
The car is nice but i feel like they can do better to the rear lights tbh they look ugly to me i mean the front is gorgeous but the rear doesnt go really well with it
Jaguars will break down or have massive electrical cripples. Did you see the new accords interior? that shit is stolen straight up of a BMW Don't complain since Ford used to own Jaguar and Land Rover (and the new explorer looks like a Range Rover anyways) chinese engineerieng (copying) is now fad bro, luckly that will hopefully mean the death of the shit box cars
That Gay Guy Ford is not new of that shit: now copying jaguar (owned yes but no more and jag and land rovers now are great cars) before copying aston martin (owned by ford too).... maybe Ford gas a great deficit of Image that needs to copy great cars?
Andres Valdes B is this assumption based on experience? Or rather the reliability stigma that has not escaped the Jaguar brand since the late 90's era?
There were no collision fron different directions, no dummuies in the car. This was not a real crashtest, this was a fucking advertisement of az extremely expensive car.
Why is there no rolls royce crash test? I typed it and this is what pops up first, no rolls royces.
Matthew Felix same with me
This is a rolls royce lincoln
lmao same
Because most people dont drive a rolls if they were as common as other vehicles than maybe the institute would test them
PrinceDarkness car needs to go to euro ncap or american ihs but company can choose between leeting people see crash test or not so thats why you dont see videos about expensive cars... rimac automobili will make 150 new c2 hypercars if you know what is rimac company is from my state, ceo of rimac said they need to crash 20 cars for crash test and they only made 150 of this cars
wow. it's cool how it deflected the energy of the entire car to the right destroying the front corner and barely affected the driver's area
Volvos do the same.
Volvo has had this technology for a long time.
Miles B I'm sure they have. Just never seen a video in high quality showing it this way until now. Good to know there are people trying other than Volvo too!
Miles B Isn't this car based on a Volvo platform too?
Think it was just the luck of the wheel pushing it away.
The Lincoln Continential is back! And it looks nice. Not to mention a darn sight safer. Talk about a comeback.
MrSupercar55 FWD + cheap plastic ford stuff
They don't make 'em like they used to. btw where did you find out it was FWD?
MrSupercar55 Google it
There is also an AWD configuration. Plus Ford made the engine. If that's made of plastic it's gonna melt 5 minutes after it's started.
Mr supercar are you on drugs its and ugly boring looking shitbox that only America could design. Is it me or does the Lincoln look like a jaguar in the front
@KeriSan San ha ha ha ha ha ha ha no they don't
Yes and a Bentley
lincoln, jaguar, volvo, mazda, hyundai all have the same front now on sedan
just a little
Mercedes too
I had the opportunity to drive this car for two weeks, I had no idea that Lincoln was producing Continentals again. Tim Oliver
Yea sure, guy...
In these tests they remove the headrests but this is a part of safety
jam63112
They interfere the camera
Not for front tests
Why are the head restraints removed? Shouldn't they be shown as the same a person would buy one?
No this is an advertismemt. So its ok
It's to get a better view of the dummy's head movement in the collision. The seats are usually tested separately in a rig that instantly accelerates them forward simulating a rear end collision
I’m amazed at the way the side windows reacted
Front is Like jaguar xf!
Diego Oliveira 8flfyhgfghythixjzcczbnń
How?
!!!!!!!!!Front window did not even shatter!!!!!!!!!!!
I drooled over the new Continental at a dealership several months ago while my Focus was in for routine maintenance. The one I sat in there was this color blue with the black leather...beautiful car! Wow. Loncoln performed well
After having a 18 yr use my back bumper as his personal breaking system doing 60 mph. I bought one of these. Hope its better.
I saw that Lincoln at the salvage yard in Ruckersville,VA it was picked over for parts most of the interior was gone.
The glass is so strong!
That’s because the A pillar took no damage.
A Nokia 3310 could destroy this car and the Nokia will still be ok😂😂😂😂
good protection of the head and neck, a bit of whiplash but no problem there
What happens to the drivers window? Comes up and bows out
Cobrainvicta It looks like it was pushed out from the crash.
Pushed out by the collision.
Cobrainvicta the dummy put the window up so that debris does not his his head
New cars automatically comes down after collision to prevent carbon monoxide and easy access for first responders.
That car is nice !! and safe too !
And FWD...
Lincoln always best..beautyful cars.
It did pretty darned good by the looks of it.
Looks very safe and good, but shouldn't the passenger airbags also deployed? Genuine question
Nolan Boyer passenger airbags usually only deploy if the car detects if there is enough weight on the passenger seat.
1:05 i was laughing because the right headlight popped off
Can you please do a Lincoln MKZ test?
These stupid comments remind me why IIHS disables their comments.
These cars are completely hand made!
Safety first!
Can someone tell me why they took the headrests off? Isn’t the headrests part of the safety system?
the car is very good
Wonder why the passenger airbag didn't deploy. I hope they just turned it off.
GUN TIMES yea

This does two things: prevents unecessary deployment if there is no passenger, reducing repair costs, and if there is a small passenger, prevents serious injury from the airbag.
The air bag only works when then seat belts put it in.
ANANDAPADMANABHAN P.V not necessarily. Many vehicles will still deploy airbags without sestbelts in use.
The passenger airbag deploy because the passenger dummy is not there and no one is wearing at the passenger side
Nice, except some idiot marketing director must have insisted on putting directional wheels on the car. Pointing aft on the port side of the car and pointing forward on the starboard side of the car. The same with idiotic directional tires that are not useful for most driving. Asymmetrical tires are a different story. They can be useful in regular driving.
I would like to see images from a camera filming the driver's feet. Guess where did the front left wheel go?
1zanglang you can see the wheel break away and fly off to the left of car
lee hancock Right. But before it broke away, it was pushed into the back of the wheel well and deformed it extensively. On the other side of that, there are the pedals.
THE DRIVER WAS ok.... GOOD, LINGOLN...
so if this is continental, then what does bently make?
At 1:29 the rim slices into the door and looks like a serious leg injury.
Would have had less whiplash to the neck with head restraint in place, possibly rebound injury to face with the deflating airbags.
And now there is no door handle left to get into the car from the outside...
Very nice car indeed! It's just unfortunate that it is FWD, or FWD biased when ordered in the AWD models.....
the awd is actually not a haldex system in this car. Its a very similar system to the one used in the Focus RS.
everybody talking shit about the continental and they drive a 2001 corolla xe
This car also has an air bag coming out the side of the door. I hve never seen that
I would like to know if the car would stop if Say a child ran out in front of it from between two parked cars it seems to avoid on moving objects which is all good but what about a moving obstacle like a child
wait it has brake assistance but still hit the wall how that any good

These people are playing beamNG drive in real life
imagine them using a navigator for this test
Рикошет нельзя считать полноценным испытанием.
Tofaş Şahin please
Anyone know whats the color of this Linclon please.
Why don't the have head rest?
Did the driver shart himself at 00:23?
I like this music!
sell it in Europe! please!
Otto Von Bismarch this car in ncap is going to have 2 stars max so is not going to sell in europe
CountryofTugas i agree
What do you mean I live in Europe and my sister has this car... rat probably but possible
Rare*
Navigator please
Great 👍

What data do you have to support your claim? Are you everywhere to see every accident? Generalizations mean nothing!
They do happen, and they are devastating to cars without design considerations for it.
It actually happens when the driver is trying to dodge an obstacle but isn't quick enough to completely dodge it.
Can't crash it because it automatically brakes 😂
Вапшето в конце надо показывать результат теста типа 1-4-5 звезд
Nem ameriaki autónak mutatja magát, hanem inkább egy Jaguárnak... Több kreativitást vártam volna a Lincolntól...
Американцы вы супер!!!!!!!!!!!
Бля! Даже сердце разрывается...
103 million view with no comment...
А почему,на водятловском сидении,не стоит подзатыльник'????????????
that car said //
I always thought that Chinese are good at copy things but Americans take it to much higher level... just look at the car unbelievable 👏🏼
Can you believe they discontinued the continental. Thanks Americans hope u r happy with ur filthy suv.
just slides past....great
Con no que cuestan esos autos, más le vale a lincoln que sean seguros.
Congratulation UBER for the new continental.

The modern continental is a JOKE. THIS CAR IS SUPOISED TO BE HUGE!!!
Name of music ?
Evanderson Bispo
Standard gay music.
wow, un buen test.
Sem encosto de cabeça? Porquê?
12mph...
Rent one of these just to found out this POS was over 50k smh overpriced asf
safety like Volvo s90
johh ponomarev Volvo ALOT safer
yes,both them lost their wheel
This is not worthy of the Continental name
Great sedan, it was a flop only because of the bad taste of modern drivers, who buy only SUVs
Машинку жалко )))
In the back azera 2011
go Lincoln! !!!!
5 Stars?
El Cactus Feliz probably not
yes
The car is nice but i feel like they can do better to the rear lights tbh they look ugly to me i mean the front is gorgeous but the rear doesnt go really well with it
Bad because the drivers head is hit on the left stearing colom
The good car
Bad Jaguar copy!
I didn't think they had Jaguars in America until I saw that silver Jaguar X-Type that keeps appearing in ChrisFix's videos.
MrSupercar55 I have the XJL
Jaguars will break down or have massive electrical cripples.

What about the legs? For all we know that dummy is wheelchair bound for life.
If there were leg injuries, it would likely get a marginal or poor rating.
The Continental has airbag cushions on the legs.
Шик тачка!
