- In this video we unbox and review the EFNOTE 3X electronic drum kit.
An elegant black oak finish on a 12" snare, two 10" rack toms, two 12" floor toms, and a sturdy 12" kick tower. For cymbals you're getting the 14" hats, two 16" crashes and a 18" ride. A lot of great pads to suit your playing needs!

Business logo pops up + intro, "Oh, great.Another "review" by a drum store."
Guys start talking, "Oh.Hold up!"
Honestly, my reflex reaction when the intro started was grabbing the remote to hit 'Back' and find an indie channel for a proper/honest review. Then you guys open your mouths and I stopped-remote in hand about to hit the button-and glad I stuck around.
Really liked it. The time-lapse too was refreshing compared to the setup being blinked into existence, I Dream of Jeanie style.
By pure coincidence I just ordered this kit today haha
You’ll be super happy with it. It’s a seriously nice kit for the money.
It’s not coincidence it’s cookies ahah
Hey guys, just watched this review and love the DVD audio commentary approach - most fresh! Pity I live in Switzerland as I’d be be over to you guys in a [rim] shot! Gonna check out your other reviews:)
Thank you! We have a lot of fun doing them and appreciate the feedback.
I’m comparing the Roland TD27KV vs EF Note 3x. There’s only about $500 difference in price where I am. The Roland module has 75 preset kits vs 16 on Ef note. But ef note looks good and has an extra floor Tom. Do you think the ef note has a more realistic sound?
Did you choose between these two? I'm in the exactly same situation and I can't decide properly!
@@AerisVelivolusSame situation here too.
@@nonyabusiness6084 I THINK I finally made my choice, but still saving money! Any of the 2 kits is a great option, but in my case I'm leaning towards the Efnote. I don't need as many sounds as the Roland has and they sound very artificial to my ears. I love the portability (no rack) and looks of the Efnote, the extra tom and the bigger kick drum. Also, if you compare the hi-hat of the Efnote and the one of the TD27kv v.1, the Efnote's is the clear winner. The only two aspects that I prefer from the Roland are the hardware quality and durability and the digital snare. Hope that helps!
@@AerisVelivolus hi! Why do you prefer rolands hardware quality? I tend to get a little...excited.. when i play so i'm concerned about destroying the cymbals 😂
@@Mustis91 Hi! As far as I know in the e-drums business nothing tops Roland's hardware, although Yamaha stays close (my 13 years DTXplorer still hold a beating!), and it is one of it's main strengths as a company. People usually say Roland's are almost indestructible haha but I'm not sure about Efnote's hardware quality and durability. Hope that helps!
Should I pick a Roland TD 27 KV or this Efnote 3X? Torn between these two, thanks in advance!
These are two of our top sellers for a reason. Both do a great job at making customers happy but there are some differences.
Definitely. If only these were available in Canada.
We ship these to Canada all the time!
@@Edrumcenter shipping + duties added make it too expensive for me though 🥺
@@Aiafati Sorry wish we could help more with that. We do subsidize the shipping cost quite a bit but not much we can do about the custom/duties.
@@Aiafati Whether you pay those fees with us now or later with a Canadian retailer the shipping costs and import fees will be accounted for. The kits will have to be shipped across the border and shipping and customs fees will be factored in to the Canadian price.
EF Note 3X or the ATV EXS-5- Which is the better kit? Main concern is I want a plug and play module. Simply using it at home to become a better drummer as I play an acoustic at church. Don't need to worry about dialing in sounds at all or doing any recording. Simply want to spend $2,000 to $3,000 for a great sounding kit that will last and is fun to play. Thanks.
I think I heard something about ATV filing for bankruptcy in the US a while back. I'm not sure what happened or how/if it affected their edrums but you might want to double check. In that price range, there's also the new Yamaha DTX8K to consider.
Both will do that job. We like both kits in this price range. Contact us if your shopping for a kit. Happy to help.
@@Edrumcenter I have noticed that you have very limited stock of the ATV sets. Are there distribution issues or is there a bigger issue with the company? Would hate to pull the trigger on a new kit with a company that is having issues. From hearing from others I have 100% confidence in Edrumcenter. I wish I wasn't so far from Knoxville as I'd love to see and maybe play both ATV and EFnote before buying. St Louis MO is a bit of a drive.
@@luvtoteach15 We have 17 EXS-5's right now. We get shipments about every 8-10 weeks and sometimes we sell out before the next shipment arrives.
@@Edrumcenter Thanks for explaining. I will look at some videos of the EXS- 5 as well as the new EXS-5SK. I see you have dropped the price on both of those modules.
How does the USB audio work in a DAW for multitrack recording?
It works via Micro USB and you get 8 channels.
@@Edrumcenter thanks
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm interested in buying an Efnote 3x but I am concerned with regards to its dimensions. How much space does it occupy? Specs say that 170cm in width are required, but your setup looks much more compact. Thanks!
Seems like a normal area rug can contain the perimeter of all the stands. I'll know more in a week or so when mine arrives, but I think the lambda stands conserve space a lot better.
Sick!
I imagine the 3x kick is a lot quieter than the 5? The 5 must resonate a lot more… or am I wrong?
While looking about this set online some have said this is not a good kit for sounds for a more hard rock/metal drummer, is that true? I was looking into this and wanted to make sure it was good for me. I just use it as practice. Also what does it mean when it says, “Efnote 3x does not support the crash 1 cup when the tom 4 is used,” and if I wanted to add another crash can I? And is it easy to do and does efnote have extra accessories like crash cymbals to buy? Thank you
Thinking about purchasing this kit. The only thing for me is when you play, it looks like the toms shake a bit while playing. This could (maybe) interrupt some fills and such. Does anyone who owns this have any trouble with that?
We've not heard about issues from our customers and we have sold quite a few. We have this kit set up on our showroom floor and we play it all the time with no issues.
I'm not sure if you have any way to get in touch with the company, but I would love to use their kits. I have the opportunity to play one recently, and loved it. However, I am completely blind, and being that it had a touch screen, I found it to be not accessible for me at all. If you could let them know, I would appreciate it.

Can you create custom kits using different drums from the various sets? And can you assign splash cymbal sounds to the rims of the toms?
Yes and and it's very easy!
What's wrong with this video?
Review???? 🤔
It's good you should buy 3!
@@Edrumcenter I purchased a 3X 😉
@@drummerboyharm3078 Awesome how you liking it so far?
@@Edrumcenter I like it much. The sounds, feel of the pads, sizes and playability. It's a great purchase for me. I can play whenever I want without disturbing my nybours
@@drummerboyharm3078 Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback.
