I wasn't planning on collecting all Evercade carts but I did end up with a bunch of carts that that didn't really interest me.
I ended up selling those and sticking with just the carts that I really wanted.
What happened after doing this is I no longer had a full set and didn't feel the need to get them all. This transformed my evercade collection into what it should be; an affordable set of games I really like.
It feels good and I'm loving it.
The algorithm brought me here. I don't purchase every one of them, but some. It's the one console I play literally every day.
Way better than buying Funco Pops. It's okay collect them all.

There's nothing wrong with collecting. Yes, if you have a complete set they will be worth something to someone, someday. Especially, when they stop makeing them. My advice is to sell your collections as a whole if you sell them at all. But I wouldn't. From my experience the only time collections become a burden is when your world comes crashing down on you via a layoff, sickness, divorse, etc. Then you have to decide what to do with all of it. My stuff has been in a storage unit for about 7 years now. I'm hoping to dust it off soon. Also, you may want to think about insuring you stuff in case of theft, fire, flood, etc. I have some of my golden age comics covered just in case. Even if you're not playing them it's still cool just having them to look at.

Me too and i am proud of it. Just supporting a small company...and I hate missing numbers. I love the full set
I have the same OCD problem... But, if you can afford them and if you enjoy lining them up on the shelf and once you know you don't have any missing, and if that makes you "happy" then you are happy and it doesn't matter if you play them or not. In the end we do stuff to be happy!

I have developed the same issue. Only got my Evercade EXP on Christmas but have already bought 9 carts. I've spent £70 just on the Technos cart as it is so hard to get. Same for Namco and the Atari carts. Just so I don't miss out.
I found myself missing cartridges of ancient games that just look like a series of dots like the Intellivision which, odd enough, was a console I grew up with and loved. But that was then. My appeal now is for indies and 2d platformers.

I do the same thing. Great cartridges though. I was playing the new free game of the month last night on my VS. I have a VS, the limited edition Black EXP, and the very limited Atomic VS pre-ordered 😂
You are an Evercade Addict Kevgret. I am an Atgames Addict, got that off my chest lol. I have to admit I was hoping I won that Evercade on Raskulls Tuesday. They look sweet but they aren't real carts, the cases, materials, ect look awesome though, I can see how you got sucked in lol.

I collect all of them in double - one copy opened (to play) and one copy sealed. I don't play in all of them, but I decided to collect them all just for fun. Sounds silly, I know, but they're cheap and this is the only whole set of games I can have in 2023 :)

I dipped my toe into Evercade yesterday with a Taito Super Pocket, of course I went straight out and bought a cart to go with it just because, well it's got a cartridge slot so it needs a cartridge in it. Funny thing is though I know what I'm like so I only took enough cash for 1 cart, if I'd taken a full wallet I would have bought 6 or 7 from the choices available. 🤣. I say keep going mate, go all in because as addictions go it's not expensive and it's harmless. Think of it as Evercade Pokemon.
Evercade needs to bring back that red and white design, the EXP is great but the look is generic. From a marketing point it is a mistake.
Arrange your collection alphabetically. Then you don’t notice gaps. It’s simple.

Also, I’ll be honest about new wave toys… there’s a bunch that I would love to buy but like you I know if I buy one I’ll probably buy them all and start amassing a collection. But it’s easier to walk away from it being that they sell them at like $160+. Kevgret you’re turning into a TY beanie baby / funko pop evercade collector! Just say no!
I've decided to be a lot stricter with my collection / collecting. I don't get repeat games over different consoles / platforms, I don't get games i don't open, i don't get games i don't like, i don't get games i don't want to play. If i do get a game i don't enjoy playing i swap it and move on. I don't get caught up in what everyone else is doing, and i don't have the FOMO anymore, this all makes life much easier and more enjoyable for playing and collecting games.
Agree to disagree on the Worms Collection. But overall you’re mostly right. Duke Nukem coming soon, and that’ll be worth it.
30 carts are reasonable priced at $1000 CAD. So you didn't lose that much money. I may have spent way more at one time on digital ps4 and switch games.

I also own a steam deck polo.... too many devices not enough time to play them
The first step is admitting you have a problem 😂 I think it’s not entirely a bad thing. I mean it’s better then buying drugs or something. If you honestly don’t like yourself for collecting them, then I would sell them, but if you like having those, it’s not such a bad thing. IMO
BTW do you have a new camera or lighting? For some reason your video looks better! I really like it. Keep up the content!
Rexer said the same thing about my setup... I did not get new camera or lights.. I was just playing around with the settings these last two videos. who knows... one day when I make it big I'll buy real equipment lol

I love the evercade but I’m very specific with what I collect, the indies, original games like full void and ps1 era games like the duke Nukem collection and piko with 40 winks

I don't have the collecting bug but I do buy things I want to play. For example, I watch video reviews of carts and see which ones I want. It's so much easier when you have lots of holes in the spine rows. I have 14 carts, jumping all over the place so it's no bother. Also, this is the only console I possess which offers these games, so there's no impetus to play them on another.
I learned my lesson buying my daughter the complete wiiu game and console collection. I like that I did that for her but I will never do anything like it again. I felt like one of those people buying everything on QVC. Haha

Collect what you play don’t collect just so you have all the numbered carts.
Very clever marketing by blaze to put numbers on the spine because they knew it would destroy collectors seeing numbered gaps on there shelf.

I’m doing the same thing tbh even though I don’t really enjoy 50% of th games but I just have to have all of them. I think maybe it’s because I know I can easy obtain a complete complete of a system maybe 🤔 I just don’t know 😂
For those in the audience who don't know: the actual quality of the Evercade boxes _is terrible…_ far worse than collecting Sega Master System boxes (and no, I would not glorify those boxes as amazing… they're just passable). Sadly, in my experience, the quality of the actual hardware _is also_ very poor, and I had to return my Evercade Vs. for a refund… the rate of failure for the handheld systems seems to be (frighteningly) even higher.
no offense... but evercade sucks... it could be so good... if they could have secured licenses for 80s and 90s arcade games... but everything on the system is mediocre to pure crap...
I agree that the releases over the last year have been lack luster. They stopped doing arcade releases and have definitely released too much shovelware lately
Let's be real: Evercade is *shovelware by design.* There is MAYBE one game worth having on a cartridge like _Data East Arcade 1,_ but even if you personally feel that three or four of the titles on that cart are worth owning, the remainder of games on the cart _REALLY ARE SHOVELWARE._ So, yes, you can sometimes evaluate a whole cartridge as shovelware, but more often you've got to look at the contents within each cartridge and ask yourself, "What percentage of this is shovelware?"
Seems you like to project your own experiences onto others, luckily I have had none of the issues you speak of and most of us understand exactly what we are getting by buying this, what do you expect for the price? Also who complains about the quality of the box? They sit on your shelf, that's it.
