Rise of Industry Trade Route Tutorial alpha 8 0

A quick tutorial on setting up a trade route as of Alpha 8.0 - you need 4 buildings: 2 warehouses and 2 truck depots/train stations/zeppelin hangers. The Destination depot-warehouse REQUESTS a shipment from the other depot-warehouse and SETS AMOUNT to ship.

Appreciate the video. It seems that the depots usefulness is limited until you unlock +1 to Truck Depot truck capacity, since both warehouse trucks and truck depot trucks both carry 2 items at a time. Is it simpler to use the truck depot, or would you recommend just waiting til you have the +1 capacity unlocked?

Transportation costs through the Depot are slightly lower vs. direct shipping but I think the reason you'd want to use a depot even before unlocking +1 capacity is that all farms, factories, warehouses etc. have a set number of trucks available to them - so if you send all of those trucks on a long delivery route and suddenly you need another resource to continue production, there may not be any trucks available to get that resource (until the delivery trucks return from their long route).

I think this is not optimal to place Truck Depo on the edge on warehouses range. Those trucks have to go to warehouse for resources before they start shipping to other depot so anyway they do the same way, but You have to wait longer for trade rote to be active when trucks loading materials from warehouse to nearby truck depot.

Love your videos. For me doing just what you did in the video won't complete the process of having the product delivered to the destination store. I have to list the commercial store in the destination tab for the product for the whole process to work in this current version of the game.

Thanks Richard - you're right, I didn't explain that clearly in terms of actually getting the product delivered after shipping. The trade routes will just move stuff from warehouse to warehouse - you do need to actually deliver it from the warehouse to a store if you want to actually get paid.

So I have two warehouses set up and two truck depots trying to move apples. However, I don't get any trucks. I have double check that the the depots are both inside warehouse areas and roads are fully connected between the two, but nothing. Any thoughts of what I might have missed?

Yes, I set it at 50.

It's hard to say without seeing screenshots or something but just double-check your process - make sure you're requesting shipment of apples at the destination.
