    Love your Star Wars shirts.
I appreciate you explaining your thought process behind this.

Thanks! My wardrobe may be mostly sports tops and star wars ones.... 😂
I always find things sink in better if you explain why, rather than just telling people to do it

I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and currently working on the ankle mobility and drills you have to improve my Ma Bu (Kiba Dachi since I'm a karateka). I'll let you know how my progress is.

Of note: you can still throw the kick as a straight front kick if their response to your punch is to step back. I'm curious if that was the expected response in the form 🤔

Yeah you certainly can, the range for the second punch is probably off then. Though if you are playing by typical Shaolin rules (always go for the groin) and not friendly sparring, a flick kick sets the second punch up nicely!

Great,,, but tell me something if I am 5 foot 3 guy should I learn kung fu, or boxing to self defence or something else or just do not train at all ?

As a Kung Fu practicioner it depends on what u want to achieve. If you don't have a clue, just pick one, it will work out fine.
I've been taught that Kung Fu is not for fighting, as in, you should ideally never have to use what you learn. Rather it's about health and long term physical stability.
Boxing is more crude, because it's essentially meaningless without the act of fighting. Also health is not something it's often brought up as a positive of the sport.
Whatever you do is gonna be good, it doens't really matter what it is. The important part is to do something and not staying idle.

Learning something will always be better than not, whatever it is. I always recommend people try out different things and see what they enjoy. Ultimately that is what is going to keep you training and get you to a good level.
That being said, as a shorter person, if self defence is a concern, I'd advise doing something with kicks. They are your longest weapon, so important to use against taller people.

I completely agree that kung fu isn't just about fighting, it's also about self cultivation and health. I plan to use it to stay healthy for as long as I can
