I always appreciate your deep dives. There’s always a detail that I might have been doing, but hadn’t thought of in that way or didn’t have the language for.
Yeah there are lots of things we can use Jin Ji Du Li for, I wasn't looking to cover every application, just the broad brush strokes, and they mostly all fall into the categories of usage I describe, lifting, dropping, lifting one leg with power and stability. Er ti jiao is essentially the crane kick, though a little different stylistically, so another solid use.
You did Thai clinch wrong. It will not able to pull down anyone down. Your grip will break first. The mechanics of be able to pull your opponents is not power or weight the whole body down. All variation of Thai grips were designed to coerce your opponent to move certain direction by pain.
Optimal position would be on the back of the head, for better leverage, but you can't always get that position. This shows that even with a weaker position you can break their posture. Done with a full close in grip, it would be harder to pull off. It's a tool to add to the kit, not an either or thing
😂 we really going to sit here and act like kung-fu is anything other than a fancy way to get some cardio? Who cares what Mr. Miyagi didnt know, its all BS anyway.
It is indeed so much more than that. I train muay thai, jiu jitsu and kung fu, and they all have value as applicable martial arts. Try out the applications I suggest in the video before dismissing it.

Glad to be providing value :D Some might say I think about this stuff too much, but it pays off!
Your editing game is really on point!
Thanks! Every time try to push it that bit further.
Fantastic video! Looks like a great channel, so far.
Thanks very much! Glad your liking the content
Your videos deepen my understanding considerably
Glad to be of help! It's what I try to do in all my videos and when teaching lessons. There's so much more than a lot of people realise 🙂
Cool. I am putting this into my lesson plans
Awesome
Just found your UA-cam Channel! 🙌🤩❤️
What about its use in wu bu chuan as a leaning strike? I also love it in er qi jiao. Nice video though!

Or you can do a back flip
If it works for Jaden Smith...
