- How To Draw a Seascape, Waves, Skies, Graphite Pencil Tutorial.
The Bristol paper was a joy to use and I will certainly be using it again.
The graphite powder I used throughout the drawing was Koh-I-Noor natural graphite powder.

Have anybody ever said that your are like a printer just started from the top gradually detailing getting down from left to right. I had to see the vedio again at 1.5x just to watch you make this like a printer. BTW absolutely amazing it will definitely help me a ton
Wait, a tutorial that I actually have all the things for? Awesome!
Absolutely amazing!! Great teaching. This tutorial is pure perfection! Detailed explanation. Perfect speed. Soothing voice. Just a completely enjoyable creative experience. From a beginner to a pro I Thank you.
Thanks Mary, I'm glad you enjoyed this one, I greatly appreciate your kind words :)
Just beautiful
Your tutorials are the exact ones I've been looking for...landscapes and pencils!... your work is unbelievably realistic!! Very inspiring!!
This is a beautful drawing! Thank you sir.
What a quality delivery, so gentle knowledgeable. Thank you!
So helpful! Thank you.
This is truly awesome! Good, accesible explanation even for a dummy like me and a beautiful, soothing voice... really enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an hour or so. Thank you!
How beautiful to watch it come alive! Thanks for teaching us! Amazing talent.
Beautiful seascape, and great tutorial. You explain everything so well as you go. This is by far one of the best videos for drawing. Gorgeous graphite artwork, and so realistic, Thanks for making your amazing UA-cam videos.
Beautiful work Smoothie. It's evident by your pencil strokes and as you talk through this video that you feel the waters movement - your understanding of the subject comes straight through to the final drawing. Enjoy seeing your work - I've subscribed.
Thank you Mary, Its always good to try to have an understanding of the scene, I try hard to get that across in the finished drawing, I often find movement and direction difficult aspects to capture, thanks again for subscribing, much appreciated!
I had to pause this just to say how wonderfully Beautiful this is! WOW. I am a huge fan of your work, the way you can make anything look like its real right in front of you and not drawn at all amazes me to no end. Right from beginning to end I am captivated. YOU Sir are AMAZING! ok, back to watching now lol.
And you're amazing too! thanks for the kind words, hope you enjoy the rest of the video.
Tanya Osca you are great
I loved watching this. I started out with charcoal and a blender and this really inspired me to visit this again. Your picture is beautiful and I can only hope to be able to give this a go and enjoy trying to create what you have done. Thank you for your tips and instruction with this.
wow, that is such a gorgeous thing, I was mesmerised from beginning to end, thank you for sharing your amazing talent
I absolutely love this and look forward to trying this myself!! Thank you!! Just beautiful!
Thanks Sandy, yes give it a go, its a nice scene to draw. Happy Drawing!
Just lovely. I've been working on trees, but seascapes are a particular favorite of mine, and I really must try this! Your explanations were wonderful, but there's obviously a lot of knowledge and experience behind them. The sooner I start, the sooner I will begin to learn. Thank you for a brilliant tutorial.
Thanks Amy, your comments are always appreciated, I wish you all the success with this one, Happy Drawing! :)
Thank you so much! I was able to use your tips and tricks to make my own seascape drawing! Invaluable!
One of the best demos I have seen. Thank you!
Hi Smoothie77, I can't thank you enough for your amazing instructional videos. I've begun to find a new pathway in terms of pencil drawing. Thank you so much. One thing I am desperately struggling to achieve is the way you manage to draw and erase all the movement splashes on a wave ! At the moment it seems beyond me!
Thanks for the kind words Martin, much appreciated! as with all these things practice and observation are the answer...
i have to thank you, i have watched alot of your videos now and you have helped my drawing no end. when i first watched you make a drawing i couldnt fathum hou you were creating somthing from nothing. it inspired me to dig mumy untouched charcoles out the cubored. 4 months later and i can watch you draw somthing like this and actuly follow the teckneeks your using. its such a satisfing hobby to have so thanks
Thank you for your kind comment, I appreciate it very much, its great to hear you are getting results with your drawing, I agree, its a very satisfying hobby!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you for sharing your talent it’s so helpful.
Thank you ,I spent a few hours following your work today, Enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm really glad I found this video! I think it is the best ocean scape drawing on UA-cam! I've watched it several times and keep missing how you make the foam a part of the wave. I've subscribed, please, please, please do another!!!
Amo de coração suas obras de arte. Simplesmente admirável, fantástico. Sou fã. Parabéns professor show
I keep coming back to this picture. I'm in awe. For me, this is the most intimidating of your work. I keep watching it and will someday summon up the courage to attempt it. Kisses
"Intimidating" my intension was for it to be inspiring :) I can promise you its not as difficult as it looks, give it a go Virginia....nothing ventured, nothing gained :)
I loved watching you create that seascape. Seeing it evolve like that was magical. I am looking forward to giving it a go. Thank you 😀
Thanks, you might like this video if you like seascape drawing, ua-cam.com/video/Va0-OQnJpPY/v-deo.html
Fabulous Smoothie....so real, I can almost hear the gulls
Thanks! that's a nice comment :)
Nice drawing. 👍
Nothing short of BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I ask a question. Does paper quality make much difference?
Incredible talent... thank you for sharing these amazing videos.
Just 'Thank You' for a wonderful tutorial!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and skills, its beautiful x
You've got me back into graphite. I may have to try and copy your drawing. It would really get me focused on creating wave shapes. I particularly liked the creation of the background waves. Very, very nice. I just ordered a Tombow eraser as well. I think I used to use too many different hardnesses of lead. Restricting the types of lead gives your pictures a focus which mine never had. Thanks again.
How can anyone dislike someone else's creativity? No matter how good or not so good the creativity is, there's no need for negativity which can hurt people's feelings, Don't like the artwork? then just move on there's no need to leave a thumbs down... .... These are among the best pencil / watercolour artworks I've ever seen.
I totally agree, I have to say I never ever gave anyone a thumbs down...I don't see the point, It would be better if the person would be constructive and say what they don't like, but the person who left me a thumbs down is a troll that thumbs down every video I make, it doesn't bother me at all, in fact I find it quite amusing that someone should go to such trouble, but hey thanks for your kind words and support, its very much appreciated :)
I agree that was a really nice supportive comment from elizium.
LOL Oh I see :) well thank you Barbara, I thought your comment was meant for eliium. You are always supportive too, I always appreciate your comments. thank you:)

Wow stunning I am going to try this I never thought you could get these good results 😊🇬🇧
Yes give it go Carole! "nothing ventured nothing gained" I wish you all the best Happy drawing! :)
This is beautiful!
When you done that final layer of water at the front, then pulled the blending stump down for shadows, I thought "oh no! He ruined it at the end. It looks like a ledge" then you went back in with the pencil eraser and made horizontal foam marks and it really made it quite brilliant. Can really see the movement in the waves. Something I haven't been able to master yet... well done and thanks
Thank you! I was looking forward to this one. You didn't disappoint! Wonderful.
Thanks Clark, glad you liked it, much appreciated!
