I’ve drawn a little landscape to reflect “it’s nothing special” ........ r you crazy? It’s absolutely stunning. I would love to be able to draw like that.
Thank you. I want to try the windmill aswell. Thank you for sharing your talent. Maybe I will bump into you at north Norfolk one day and will watch over your shoulder while you sketch lol
Wow, thanks for taking the time to show us how you do these beautiful drawings. I have always wanted to learn. Now my guilty obsession, the Dave, Alan, and Smoothie demos. You are all so generous with your time and talent.
tillygirl56 Thanks tilly, its my pleasure to make these demos for all of you, I'm glad people are enjoying them, Nothing wrong with guilty pleasure's tilly, I have quite a few myself hahaha.
🤔🤫🤭 You cover the better part of learning to draw ... "Discover all" So modestly shown ... !! Like everywhere ... Note that you are showing the less important aspects of drawing secrets. One must admit, you draw nicely.
This is good to know! How amazing the difference is. It must be the additive they add to the graphite to make it water-soluble. This is a beautiful drawing thank you! My first love has always been drawing. Of course I used my fingers to shade with. My older sister used to draw a lot when I was a kids I always tried to draw like her. She drew beautiful women. My favorite was her drawings of a popular Sunday cartoon, Brenda Starr. Of course your way to young to know who that is. She was a glamorous drawn woman, kind of like Rita Hayworth. I love this drawing, I'm really happy I came across your channel.....
Thanks Gail, interesting comment, I enjoyed reading it, although I don't know who Brenda Starr is? it was still fun to read, thank you, much appreciated.
Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy following your techniques and I've pretty much copied a number of your drawings. Please continue the lessons, as a newly to drawing (not quite at bus pass age, but close) I have gained more confidence in my drawings. Thank you again
This video helped so much! I was doing a drawing and needed help on how to do the reflection, and when he talked about the white line I between the bridge and reflection, the drawing came out amazing! Thanks so much!
This was a wonderful demo, Smoothie, and a pleasure to see how you produce these incredible works of art. I simply love the varied tones graphite can create. I hope to see more of your demos. Cheers from Canada!
Angelica G Thank Angelica, I'm really pleased you like these demos, as you know I was worried about making them, so its so nice to know that people appreciate them, thank you, from the UK :)
Great demo Smoothie!!! Loved it! Thank you for explaining and showing the difference between the two graphites :) Can't wait for the next demo, haha! Thanks again Smoothie :):):)
Just come across this video and can see straight away that you are going to teach me lots. already subscribed and gonna work through all your other videos. awesome!
Hello, I enjoy your videos. Thank you for making me remember my first love. Graphite pencils. I love the landscapes were do you get your reference photos?
Hi Monica, thanks for the nice comment, there are lot of copyright free image websites that i sometimes use, other times I use my own photos or just good old imagination :)
Another awesome drawing mate :) Thank you for sharing. I might try to draw a scene just like that and then use your technique. If I do, I will show you the outcome :)
+Rich W Great work Rich, I looked through all your drawings, they are really good, I can see you have a real passion for drawing, I look forward to seeing more in the future. Thanks for sharing these with me, its was a real pleasure to see your work.
smoothie77 thanks mate. Yeah drawing relaxes me and I'm a kind of perfectionist when I draw lol. If i don't like what I see then I scrap it or spend hours trying to fix it lol.
Brilliant demo Smoothie, even I find it fascinating watching how another artist uses the same medium as me , we are learning all the time from each other no matter how good or bad we think we are, lm sure many of your viewers are benefiting from your demos, keep up the good work :)
Hello smoothie...I've just attempted this, and its come out a complete shambles!!!Lol....the tree trunk and the darkest places I've sort of penciled jet black!!Lol...so I've erased a lot of it....and I'm looking at it now thinking, can this be saved...its not the bionic man, but the bionic picture!!...we can rebuild it!!!....I'm drawing on A5 paper, and I've drawn the bridge too far down so the trees reflections are going to be going out of the picture!!!...I'm going to carry on!!Lol
+David Lin Thanks David, there would be a lot of difference with an ocean wave, choppy water reflects differently , the technique in this demo is one I use for still or calm water, I will add ocean waves/seascape, to my list of "to do" demos, thanks for viewing and commenting.
Hello smoothie, i said i wos gonna finish it .....and i did!!....actually my attempt at it is so bad, its actually quite good!!!Lol....it is my first attempt mind.
+Agui007 Hi Agui007, thanks for the comment, I do draw mountains, a couple of my older graphite drawing videos show a few mountain scenes, I will be drawing more mountains in future videos.
Dear Smoothie77, Thanks again for a great tutorial, I really now need to start practicing some more. LOL. Is it necessary to clean a blending stump? And if so, how does one go about it? I just love grafite. Greetings from Hungary
Hi Ineke, its not necessary to clean the blending stump, but if you do want it clean, its sandpaper that is used to rub of the graphite back to clean paper, greetings from England, and happy drawing!
I just draw my first "non childish" tree. And I have you to thank for it. This was very small. Trying now to make a bigger one. I am now using a grafite pencil to make grafite powder. Works a lot better. I believe you are right, that the jars with grafite powder are a mish mash. Do you have FB too? Can you show how to make a nice house? Slowly please? Please? Greetings,Ineke
Great to hear you're getting good results with graphite, no I don't have FB, I will see what I can do about a house drawing, next time I do a landscape drawing with a building/ house I will make a video of it :)
Great tutor video. Can I ask you one thing please? Your video is always so quiet that I have to habe both volume settings on all the way high and your voice is still very distant and faint. Can you adjust your camera's microphone on upoming vieos like these?
smoothie77 its called a card scrapper it was used to finish wood before sand paper was common here is a link www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0001P0PIG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486817788&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=card+scraper&dpPl=1&dpID=41B1SGCXYZL&ref=plSrch

I’ve drawn a little landscape to reflect “it’s nothing special” ........ r you crazy? It’s absolutely stunning. I would love to be able to draw like that.
I am a bit crazy sometimes :) but its only a sketch, I'm sure you could do it, its a lot easier than it looks :)
Well I plan to give it a try so I’ll let you know but I don’t think you know just how good you are.
Thanks Suzanne, that's kind of you to say. I hope you give this a try, its an easy technique that works well, Happy Drawing!
Thank you. I want to try the windmill aswell. Thank you for sharing your talent. Maybe I will bump into you at north Norfolk one day and will watch over your shoulder while you sketch lol

If needed.

Hi Donald, I will see what I can do for a future video, I have a lot of other requests to get through first, thanks for the suggestion,
This is an excellent demo. Wondering if any difference for ocean wave?
+David Lin Thanks David, there would be a lot of difference with an ocean wave, choppy water reflects differently , the technique in this demo is one I use for still or calm water, I will add ocean waves/seascape, to my list of "to do" demos, thanks for viewing and commenting.

Hi Smoothie your simple demo as you say, was great! You make the reflection convincing. Do you also draw mountains?
+Agui007 Hi Agui007, thanks for the comment, I do draw mountains, a couple of my older graphite drawing videos show a few mountain scenes, I will be drawing more mountains in future videos.
Enjoyed your video, very informative. Thank you.I find the sound too soft hence difficulty in following .
Yes, these older videos sometimes have a low volume, the more recent ones are a lot louder.
Thank you!
