According to Raegeii (concept designer of She-Ra) her hair is her work on neural cybernetics, not magic. They even had a more robot design of her hair on their tumblr account.
There was a quick moment before Entrapta was teleported that's super easy to miss, but so important to her character. When the teleportation started, Entrapta's terminal was within the field. With no time to even think, she successfully pushed it out of the field, which allowed Bow the chance to complete her work. This means that when the chips were down, Entrapta actually pushed her tech away to save her friends, and she did it instinctually. Like I said, it's a super fast, easily missed moment, but it helps to bring her character arc for the season to its conclusion by showing how deeply engrained her desire to help the others has become, surpassing even her love of technology.
It took my 3rd read through to read the "chips were down" as the idiom. I was so confused cause I was thinking "weren't the chips still functioning when she got teleported?" Awesome analysis, by the way!!
Scorpia felt like the one person who could connect to Entrapta naturally. Maybe it's because of her heart, maybe it's because both of them are naive and working for the wrong side despite not being bad people. I think it's closer to the latter, them being similar.
@@rsfilmdiscussionchannel4168 neither scorpia or entrapta had a personal agenda or a side honestly, scorpia connected with entrapta because she was the only person who didnt want to use entrapta for her smarts & machines
or asexual... honestly that's how I see the clones. because they would be such a burden if they got distracted that Prime would clone that out of them and him. remember he's been re-cloning himself for thousands of years.
I relate SO much to Entrapta. She is just the avatar of what people on the autistic spectrum like myself struggle with; getting super entrenched in special interests that the rest of the world just kind of gets tuned out. I know I can get ultra focused when trying to photograph steam trains, I have to remind myself there are other people around! That's what makes Entrapta such a relatable character. In a way, she's one of few characters I'd consider to be true neutral. She tries to understand the consequences of her actions, but people skills are difficult for her.
Hey, i like steam locomotives too!! Ive always been mocked for hyper-focusing and being obsessed with things all my life... i used to be ashamed of it... But now, i call myself "obsessive" with pride, for at least i care about things and love things!! I wish i had known i was autistic when i was a kid
My favourite entrapta moment: when she doesnt remember any of the plan for rescuing bow and glimmer from the horde, all because the way adora assigned the lipstick, perfume and minitures ect was illogical. she was completely thrown off because one little, inconsiquential thing that doesnt quite make sense. I related to that so much. I just love entrapta so much.
I love how they put her on the spectrum but didn't draw any attention to it. I feel like many people don't even realize (like the creator of this video apparently)
She’s awful and with a questionable morality, look beyond her being cool techno girl, she may be “good” at the end but she willingly helped the horde and didn’t listen to reason when the group tried to rescue her, her redemption an catra’s was not well executed and rushed , the only one that had a decent one was scorpia
As a nerdy girl who’s also on the spectrum and has a special interest in magic (the gathering) and robots (in disguise), Entrapta rapidly endeared herself to me. She is best girl and I adore the canon Entrapdak ship
Still trying to wrap my head around defenders of the old She Ra when they were all basically cardboard cutouts far as character, and very much an afterthought next to He-man
I feel that, yes the points brought up on hordak and entrapa's relationship are valid, they leave out many of the actual chemistry and care between the two lab partners. If you see hordak as a person who was raised in and got forcibly separated from a cult, as well as seeing him as more than an evil conqueror (you gave that treatment to shadow weaver, so why not hordak?), then you would see that he values entrapta as more than a tool (if you compare her interactions with the rebellion and the horde, then it becomes clear that the rebellion only tolerated her *because* she was of use to them but the horde sees her as a valuable asset, person, and friend). I would suggest a look back on their relationship and how she is treated as an individual and never expected to change herself around hordak. As well as how she does the same with hordak. They both love tech and have common goals, yes, but they *bond* over those goals and form a really healthy friendship that can, and does, branch into something much more romantic. Another qualm i have with the horde section of the video is that there is only really *one* point that hordak believes he can manipulate entrapta but soon after having some time to interact and get to know her, he realizes that he never needed to and never tries again. The worst thing hordak has done in their relationship is yell for personal space/keep his dying body a secret, the bad things that happen to entrapta in the horde are by *catra* (who has done almost as much war crimes as hordak, so if she can be forgiven quickly for loving adora, then hordak can start redemption for having a healthy relationship and growing up in a cult/only ever knowing prime's ways)
I was going to say something like this. It seems pretty clear to me that Hordak actually feels heartbroken when he thinks Entrapta betrayed him, and he takes it personally when he finds out it was all a lie.
Applemangh The second you see Hordak just sitting there looking lost, the fact that you cannot mention Entrapta's name around him, the other fact that Hordak had Scorpia and Catra pretty much throw her stuff away. This man was going through a breakup and you could really tell. Then the scene where he cries at the truth, pretty much summed up that he cared so much about her. Even when he went into battle his main goal was to see her.
hordak treated entrapta the best out of the princesses, and they forged a healthy relationship which slowly turned romantic. this feels way too biased- you can tell that you don't like hordak and are just ignoring the actual chemistry they have to suit your needs best. she's not that fucking vulnerable, she's a grown woman and she makes her own decisions using data to rely on.
Something that I also love about Entrapta how she handles emotions. In moments where it seems like her emotions become too much to handle she tends to pull her helmet down to hide her face. Small details like that really flesh her out. 💜
when i figured this out while rewatching clips from the show i was pretty blown away, especially when i saw her do it when catra convinces her to join the horde, and later after having a sad look while hacking into the black garnet. when entrapta realises that she is choosing to hurt the people in the rebellion, she doesn't want to think about it. she hyper focuses on the science, not just out of interest, but also because she knows on some level shes doing something messed up. if you look at her reactions to their battles shes only talking about the tech, not the people it's hurting. supported by how in the sort-of-canon comic, she listens to bow plea for her to join the rebellion. he says, "if you only care about tech, then join us! why are you helping the horde destroy etheria?" and bow looks really sad, entrapta was wearing her mask so she pulls it down and looks really conflicted, sharing a look with him. but she immediately pretends she didn't hear him and sends more robots at him to stop him from talking, because she doesn't want to think about it. i think this was a hint that it's *not* just about the tech for her, and she wasnt ready to think about all the stuff with her friends in the rebellion, or the falling apart friendships in the horde.
I just noticed in that clip from when Entrapta pets Catra's head, for us thatd be condescending, but for Catra...shes at least part cat, that patting her head is more like a comfort thing and I dont know why I didnt see that before
We've also got to consider that because Entrapta's autistic, she may not have realised that the gesture could be perceived as condescending because social interactions are foreign to her. She just meant it as a sign of affection and forgiveness.
Not going to gonna lie but Entrapta is sus just saw her vent and she seems to have no interest in voting out the bad guys she tells me she is doing task.
Hm. I didn't really like the take that Entrapta "didn't know" what she was getting into when Hordak talked about the portal. She knew. She talked about transporting weapons and troops from one side of the planet to the other. And Hordak's plan wasn't to "obliterate the planet," it was to conquer it for Prime. None of them knew at the moment that the portal was not going to work properly and would destroy reality; that's why Catra separates them and sends Entrapta to Beast Island, and deceives Hordak. Also you didn't mention at all that he protected Entrapta from the explosion??? Entrapta is not expendable to Hordak at all and the video makes it seem as if she was.
Alas, Hordak will forever be the black sheep of spop and its fandom because most people, including Noelle herself, cannot see beyond the traditional straight white imperialist dictator. They learned nothing from Entrapta.
@@xenon333 Wait, if Noelle Stevenson doesn't know who Hordak really is, then who the hell was in charge of writing him? She's the goddamn show runner, she should know the characters better than anyone! I was a little surprised to learn that she's only 29 years old so maybe her youth has something to do with it.
@Daniela Olivero I totally agree with you. There are a lot of bad/partially inaccurate takes in this video that miss the nuance of Entrapta and her relationships. It kind of feels like whoever made this didn't actually watch She-Ra :-/
@@dreamyanon5151 It is a problem the majority of humans have. They judge someone on their actions and if these actions were cruel, brutal and evil, they only focus on that, writing off the character as a downright evil person. But most people have a lot underneath the hard shell they have. In Hordaks case, he is a warmonger and conqueror, but sometimes shows honor, loyalty and empathy as well. Many many people ignore this and can only focus on their bad sides.
I loved Entrapta's dynamic with Hordak. Prior episodes just made him out to your evil overlord type character who while more reasonable than most is still pretty quick to anger if any particular button is pushed. With Entrapta we see him display a more humane side. At first it's just seeing an intellectual equal. Then she actually sees his vulnerability. Hordak runs an evil army so he never shows his vulnerable side, and given his underlings include people like Catra and Shadow Weaver, his concerns are well founded. But beyond that he is just ashamed of that side of himself since it's what caused his creator to cast him out. Entrapta however shows him the first real compassion he's ever experienced. He is awkward trying to be nice but Horde Prime doesn't value kindness or compassion and he certainly never taught his clones to express it.
It's really interesting. I find them both to be compelling characters and it's so funny how she just slides into his lab and unlocks his tragic backstory with the power of not giving a fuck is so funny to me.
1. This is like 90% summary especially for a video that warns for spoilers on the 2018 series. You can assume that the viewer already knows what you're talking about. 2. I don't think the only reason Entrapta chose to stay with the Horde was because her "obsession with robots superceded her attachment to Glimmer and Bow". You said it before; tech is her love language and how she pledges her allegiance, attachments, and beliefs about other people. The bargaining chip that got her to build tech for the Horde in the first place was believing the Rebellion left behind on purpose for being different and that they wouldn't be coming back for her. Under Catra's manipulations, I bet she didn't believe Glimmer and Bow when they said they didn't mean to leave her behind even if her facial expressions don't convey it (which often happens for people on the spectrum); when Adora talks to her again in the middle of Season 3, Entrapta still responds, pulling her mask down, that Catra said she abandoned her. She only buys that they have her best interest in mind when they actually come to rescue her on Beast Island. (Entrapta is not stupid and makes her allegiance decisions for herself in a much smarter way than we realize; she's not nearly as gullible as people think!) 3. You completely forgot to talk about Scorpia and Entrapta's significance to her. Scorpia basically only had Entrapta to rely on and build an understanding of what a real friendship is like before she left the Horde; it's her attachment to Entrapta and how much she missed her that ultimately drives Scorpia to walk away from Catra and leave the Horde. Also Scorpia's role in trying (sometimes unsuccessfully) to be an ally and defend/support Entrapta. 4. Other people already mentioned this, so I'll hold my tongue, but I agree with others that section on Hordak is super biased and inaccurate. The handful of times he gets aggressive and treats Entrapta poorly, it's driven by his trust/anger issues since he's used to being alone and the creepy clone cult traumatized him (which, don't get me wrong, *is still a problem* he needs to figure out so he stops hurting the people around him), not because of an intent to manipulate. Also, he basically almost ditched his old plans (which are practically his life purpose) because of his attachment to her, so... yeah, don't think she's getting used for his "evil plans" or whatever.
sorry for replying a year later but this is a really good post. yeah theres mounting evidence, like the comic, that she knows what shes doing when she works for the horde, and that it was the promise of friendship and acceptance in the horde that pulled her in, not just their tech. hordak is a complicated guy, he lashed out but she always pushed back and really wanted him to accept her as a friend. it's almost like watching scorpia try to connect with catra in the early show. but obviously catra had way more time to go down that dark path and hurt scorpia, whereas hordak and entrapta were separated pretty early on in their friendship, with her not being witness to the dark path he took after he thought she'd betrayed him. we dont know how far hordak would have lashed against entrapta, if hed have listened to her about the portal. and we dont know at what point shed have walked away. but we know hes never going to hurt her again. (we also know this for catra and scorpia)
@@tipsy634 No Entrapta is in her 30's making her and Hordax are two of the oldest characters in the show which is also why they bond. They have similar life experiences e.g being older than all of the kid-adults around them and have to make practical decisions based on everyone ones basic needs e.g food so everyone can eat. Hordax was a father to the Hord and Entrapta was the mother to the robot's in her Kingdom of Drill. Hordax and Entrapta are parents seeing the bigger picture when all the kids want to do is hang out in friendship groups.
ok, this is a nice summary of Entraptas timeline, but the title of the video is literally "her symbolism". Where is that? I have learned nothing about her symbolism
The video is just a recap of the series focusing on Entrapta, with really bad takes about Hordak. And apparently Scorpia doesn't exist in Entrapta's life.
Um yeah, idk. It goes over what she did and experienced, but nothing much at all about her place on the spectrum and even seemed to kinda mistake her motivations at some points.
that moment where she told Hordak, “But there’s still so much data to collect! What’s the rush? We’ll.. just keep working on it until it’s perfect.”? AND HE SMILES AT HER DJSJSTWJSG At that moment, he was about to give up his only chance to prove his worth to horde prime for ENTRAPTA AHHHHHHH DJSBSISHWIWB THIS SHIP IS TOO MUCH I LOVE IT
It's possible she has a runestone as well Light Hope listed princesses who had runestones and Entrapta was one of them shown At the same time Bow's dads had recovered a big broken Runestone that was pink while Entrapta also glows pink Hard to tell what her powers would be if she accessed it, more wild hair? absolute power of technology and hardly lifting a tool to build? Both?
Yeah, they kind of retconned the princesses down to 5 after season 1, which was really upsetting, especially since Peekablue is rumored to have powers in season 5. The world building in this show was pretty inconsistent, but Entrapta was AMAZING!
I freaking LOVE this version of Entrapta. I didn't really get to see the first version of it but its kinda cool how much they played her og and not at the same time. I laughed every time Hordak threatened her and she just brushed it off like it was nothing.
Entrapta's my favourite character in the show. However, favourite character and best character are two different things. Catra goes through more growth than anyone else in the entire series so I think she's technically the best character even though she's not my personal favourite.
"Everything back there with Hordak and the princesses, was all so, confusing. I just wasn't suited for friendship. I belong here." "You don't understand. That's ok, no one understands me. I tried to be a good friend, but I didn't understand that either." "Everyone leaves me behind. Why should it be any different now?" brb currently SOBBING
"Even if your new friends seem really cool, you probably shouldn't give them your hometown after hanging out with them for like a month". Key life lesson, there.
And the thing is that their relationship IS crucial to Entrapta's development. You can't talk about her character without mentioning this. What really bothers me is that the takes about Hordak are just bad in general...
When I first watched the show, Entrapta used to kind of annoy me. But as I continued to watch the series, especially after she came back towards the end of season 4, I realized how many similarities she and I had, as well as learned she was autistic just like me, and I slowly began to love her as a character! She's definitely one of my favorites now!
Why I love entrapta : 1. She’s super geeky yet kind and unique! 2. She’s important to the storyline! 3. She’s Bisexual 4. i forgot the name of it but it starts with A and makes you struggle at communicating 5. Her hair’s tech! I wish my hair could do that! lol 6. HER OBSESSIONSSSSS
sorry for replying 1 year later 2. this really took me by surprise because her archetype usually dominates for a hot second before being discarded, but season 4 is the only time she ISNT carrying the plot, and even then, the characters are still fighting over her. 3. hell yes!!!!! 4. autism spectrum? 5. wish i could do that too
So you just gunna not mention that Hordak's power gem says "LUVD" or the fact that Hordak cried when he learned that Catra betrayed him and sent Entrapta to Beast Island where survivability is low
Completely missed the early signs of Entrapda/Hordak friendship. The scene where he saves her from the first exploding portal displays Hordak's affection for her as more than another disposable second in command shows their closeness. Emtrapta is also the reason that Horde Prime senses that Hordak did not want to rejoin the rest of the clones.
She controls her hair mentally with her nervous system, she is similar to a Twi'lek. The Dryl developed mechanics and technology more rapidly than the other Kingdoms because they are natural multi-taskers.
I never knew I needed this until now but... can we get Entrapta, Pidge, and Peridot all in the same room to talk about tech? you cant say I'm not onto something here😆
Entrapta is my favorite character by far. There were a lot of moments that made her such an amazing character. There are also moments that aren’t even in the show that make her even better. I’m pretty sure that after everything that happened in season 5, she helps Hordak clean up Beast Island because it’s Hordaks punishment for kinda trying to destroy the rebellion. There’s also a deleted scene that I’m pretty sure was deleted because of time where Entrapta tells Hordak he can be whoever he wants to because he’s free from Horde Prime before he gets possessed.
Note: Entrapta did not forget who Glimmer is. Due to her autism and the fact she isn't great at social interction, she doesn't always know when to respond, so instead she just stares blankly at the person making them think she forgot or doesn't understand, while in reality she actually does.
Entrapta was by far my favorite character in the entire show. Finding out she is on the spectrum too only makes me love everything about her more. Her passion, her personality, and that little bit of pain i feel from knowing just how hard it is to interact with other people makes her my favorite character. Absolute best.
I effing love entrapta She is the character I see myself as most in the show as a fellow neurodivergent Plus her hair is purple AND PREHENSILE! What's not to love?
I love Entrapta, my favourite character in the show. We share resemblances in intense fascination with subjects, my case is video games, not realising it doesnt relate to a situation or its not really a good time to talk about it. Also being autistic, and her too, made me fall in love with Entrapta even more. Her being easily distracted and excitable is also relatable. Her little fangirling moments were so cute.
Dude, she *built her own parents* She basically had to parent herself and only had her own creations to keep her company. It makes sense why “tech is her love language”, it’s been her only known *source of love* growing up before Adora and the others found her. Tbh I feel that her character deserved more. I’m happy that she found pure and honest love in Hordak and Scorpia, but she was misunderstood so much that the amount of bad she received by the end of the show still outweighed the good. She deserves more than just an apology for how she was treated by all the princesses. When Bow tried to save her in Beast Island, I feel like the creator just took a shortcut by letting Bow lure her into the ship because it’s First Ones tech. They could have explored her feelings of abandonment more, and her loneliness that actually stems from what looks to be an empty childhood. (Designing her home as a labyrinth HAS TO have some meaning to it.) Entrapta’s not stupid. Entrapta’s more than just tech. She’s a person who turned to tech because it’s something she’s good at. She’s valuable to others because of her tech. She seeks for her value to be validated. She, like everyone else, seeks and needs love. When Hordak was able to see Entrapta for more than her tech and began to value her regardless of her usefulness, I wished that the other princesses had done this, too. She represents a lot of us that relate to her character, from being thrown to the side all the time. Instead of being recognized as a fellow princess, Entrapta was even being depicted as this dumb and gullible villain that turned her back on the rebellion. Entrapta deserved better. Princess with a rune or not, she was integral to the rebellion. She deserved to be treated kindly, not just by Hordak and Scorpia. Quite literally, WHO KNOWS WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH? We don’t. I wish we did.
i like the ambiguity of her character. the fact we get presented these massive hints about her history in her debut ep, and yet the puzzle is never completed - it's just enough to give context for why she's as feral and isolated as she is! Delightful. The other princesses do care. I like that they chase after her no matter how much she runs off in the later seasons.
Yeah, it’s unfortunately a hole in the show for me. I love Entrapta and feel those same feelings of social struggle. I just feel like no one really appreciates or tries to be friends with her again. I very much get that some people aren’t the right flavor for others, but she’s just sort of shoved to the side by everyone except Hordak, Emily, and Scorpia. And technically the little goblin lol. Just wish people could have tried to be friends.
my GF and I just adore Entrapta and this is a great video about her. Thanks for making a thoughtful and respectful analysis of one of my favorite masters of the universe.
the little purple haired cutie is my fave character. Entraptra is so accepting and even if she is bad at it, she just wants to be friends with every thing. I so would love to know how things go with her and Hordak, and Wrong Hordak. I mean lets face it, Hordak just gained a little brother.
Dreamworks Should make TV shows for ROTG(Jack Frost,Toothfairy,Santa Claus,Sandman,Easter Bunny And Pitch Black),the 90s Cool World,Captain Planet Or Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas)!
Entrapta and Hordak are my absolute FAVORITE couple in this show! If they ever make a movie, all I wanna see is these two being Imp’s nerdy parents ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎
I LOVE the fact that they hint Entrapta is on the spectrum! I have a brother who is full blown autistic and I have had thoughts that I might be as well. I related to her a lot while watching the series and now I see why.
Since No Princess Left Behind, she practically changed the story. Not only Hordak, but many of the other characters were influenced by her actions, even if it unintentionally. Let’s see: - Entrapta’s apparent ‘death’ at Fright Zone made Mermista and Perfuma give up, dissolving temporarily the Alliance, at the point that Adora was easily manipulated by Light Hope into believing she would do better distancing from her friends, until Swift Wind saved the day. - She taught Catra about the true importance of the Black Garnet, motivating the cat-girl to finally put an end on Shadow Weaver’s abuse - and also caused the witch’s fall, through Hordak’s eyes. Thus, Entrapta was partly responsible for SW switching sides again and Glimmer start learning magic (honestly, Castaspella...) - She hacked the Black Garnet, almost destroying Etheria’s environment and causing the fall of Bright Moon. By the good side, however, that made Perfuma and Mermista run to their friends’ aid and Frosta joining them, so the Alliance came back stronger and for good. (and Entrapta’s speech made Catra being promoted again, in spite of her defeat) - She convinced Hordak to send Catra for the Crimson Waste instead of Beast Island. That way, Catra gained self-confidence by realizing she was much stronger than any of the bandits living there. And found Mara’s ship, imprisoning Adora. - If Catra hadn’t returned, Hordak probably would have given up on the portal to stay with Entrapta - Horde Prime himself commented that. And maybe Hordak would have given up even on conquering... not sure, but he was causing all that pain to Etheria to impress his ‘big brother’, right? Maybe he eventually would take his troops from some places and sign some accords, who knows. It’s funny to think that Entrapta could have finished the war, by just being herself. - As Entrapdaknation observed, Catra’s decision of stopping Entrapta from warning Hordak about the portal and sending her to Beast Island changed everything... at such a point that turned the entire Horde from upside down. Being separated from her and thinking he was betrayed made Hordak fall into depression, so he was vulnerable enough to be defeated and manipulated by Catra. That way, she turned co-leader of the Horde, which made things there go from bad to worse and cause soldiers to defect - I don’t think that Lonnie, Kyle and Rogelio were the only ones who did that. Because of the things Catra did to Entraptal, Scorpia abandoned her to join the Rebellion, and Hordak destroyed part of the Fright Zone. - If it wasn’t for Entrapta, Adora and Bow never would have been able to save Glimmer and Catra. Thus, She-Ra wouldn’t have returned. And, of course, she rescued clones and chipped Etherians from the Hive Mind,so she more than made up for the things she did in her Horde days. Some ficwriters seem to forget that. - And, of course, Hordak’s love for Entrapta made him get his memories back by himself - in spite of the two reconditionings - and kill Prime. Seems it was useless, since She-Ra had to save Hordak from Prime’s disgusting soul... but, that way, she just had to exorcize someone who was already dead. Which is completely different from killing someone point blank. There was no way to stop Prime but killing him, and I don’t know if Adora would be able to cope with that afterwards, in spite of having been raised as a soldier.
Sorry for replying 1 year later: Excellent summary of the amount of chaos Entrapta has caused merely by being herself. Catra and Glimmer and all the other characters struggle to obtain power and influence, but Entrapta bumps headfirst into it like the top frame of a car door. And it's not just her tech - the greater power is the friends she made along the way. Very ironic for the princess who thought nobody cared about her and she would never make friends. One more to add to this list - It was the rescue mission to Beast Island that made Adora and Bow formally go against Glimmer's orders. Their falling out was inevitable anyway, but while Adora was gone, Glimmer became very bitter, and took advantage of their absence to destroy the Horde. Double Trouble is hired to tell Hordak the truth about Entrapta, thus causing the Horde to self-destruct entirely. Scorpia activates the Black Garnet and the Heart of Etheria teleports everyone into the new world. They return from Beast Island with Micah on tow, and Adora has to destroy the Sword, and Prime immediately discovers the planet. So, Catra's betrayal of Entrapta didn't just destroy the Horde - the argument over her retrieval destroyed the *rebellion*, and led to a sequence of events that brought Prime to the planet. All of this while she has absolutely no idea it's going on. I wouldn't be surprised if Entrapta's runestone was a Chaos Emerald or something.
7:33 Scorpia's family handing over the land and stone is probably just Horde propaganda. As I recall, Scorpia started having doubts about what she's been told when she was about to leave with Emily, and the Lightspinner flashback seemed to imply that the Horde took the land and the garnet by force.
Entrapta and Hordak's relationship was WAY more healthy than Catra and Adora, who spend the first 4 seasons trying to kill each other. Hordak was the only living creature aside from Scorpia who loved and respected everything about Entrapta. Strange that the tyrannical warlord and the autistic science geek are a much better example of a healthy relationship than the cute cat girl and the saviour of the universe.
Entrapta is an ardent gearhead, and that does have a habit of eating away at her interpersonally. She flips her alliance between Hordak and She-ra, but she does have a sweet heart and it's hard to be really ticked off at her... (plus, I love nerdy girls! 😁)
Honestly. Sometimes Entrapta's ability to ignore the real world consequences of her action grated on me. That's and issue that comes up with the working of real life scientist. Who just decide to ignore how their work might hurt people. I think part of her character development is actually learning to see those consequences. Which I think helps her better relate with the other princesses, because she does not right off their annoyance with her as them just not understanding her interest, and actually sees their legitimate concerns.
💀 she’s confirmed to be autistic. She implies that she tries to be a good friend, but she doesn’t quite understand. She does realize that she needs to be more attentive to consequences if they’re dangerous in season 5, but
I tend to think Entrapta doesn't connect with groups, (i.e., doesn't (in her mind) join with either the Horde or the Alliance), but with individuals. She stays where she is, doing what she does, because of her feelings towards Adora or Hordak or Catra- and they just happen to be connected to those groups.
I like how the only princess who tried to understand and be patient with Entrapta was Scorpia. Even in the Horde, Scorpia only follows Catra's lead and doesn't actively try and manipulate Entrapta. She also tried to share in with Entrapta's love for tech, even though she was very confused. Scorpia felt extremely guilty after she let Catra take down Entrapta and ship her to beast island, and the realization that Catra doesn't care for friends like Scorpia thought she does, leading to her leaving Catra for good, stems from her concern for Entrapta. After joining the princess alliance too, Scorpia tries to convince the others that Entrapta isn't a bad person, she's just different. When all the other princesses yell at Entrapta, Scorpia keeps quiet and looks more upset than angry. Even after they accept her, it does seem like they only like her because she is useful. Unlike Scorpia, who genuinely seems to care for her at all times.
as an autistic person entrapta is wonderful representation and she makes me feel normal i love her so so so much, her and catra are definitely my favourite characters
Ironic that the real person that defeated the princesses was the one with with no magic. I think the writers made us think she wasn't that important for a reason. She was the twist in the story.
really can't understand how people have the courage to say the redesigns are bad when the 80s cartoon has everyone look the same. One of the most basic rules of character design is to give the characters and identifiable and unique design. If you were to black out all of the new designs and make them silhouettes, you'd still be able to identify each and every character with no problem. Their dynamic posing also portrays a lot of the character's individual personalities. I really tried to watch the 80s version, but it's lack of any real plot or character progression just made impossible to sit through. The voices are funny and there's some enjoyment to be had from the bizarre scenarios, but I'll stick to the remake if I want a good plot and fleshed out characters.
I've never watched the original She Ra so I can't be 100% certain about this, but I have a feeling that the people who claim that the 80s cartoon was better are either blinded by nostalgia or never watched the show at all and are just parroting other people. She Ra 2018 is one of the best children's shows I've seen since the Avatar franchise ended, rivalled only by The Dragon Prince (which was created by Aaron Ehasz, the same man who created Avatar). They could have very easily turned She Ra 2018 into a politically correct dumpster fire but the people behind the show actually have talent and cared about what they were creating. Even when She Ra was being woke, it never hammered you over the head with it because the writers actually know how to write.
Uhm why is no one talking about this one moment that I can't seem to get out of my head. The moment where they land on the other planet to get fuel, and Entrapta stays with the ship and goes "I'm gonna go spend some *alone time* with Darla" or something like that, grabs out a bunch of tools and does those eyebrows. It's probably not a dirty joke and I'm rushing ahead of things but like, wow it really stood out to me lol. I'm not autistic, but I do see Entrapta as SO RELATABLE!!! I love her so much! Her little fangirl noises she does, her excitement and bubblyness, her sort of dark humour, her *lack of personal space oop*, her craziness, just her overall, is just SO MEE!!! I love her so much and she's clearly the best character. MUST PROTECT AT ALL COSTS.
But honestly Entrapta fits in so much better in the horde. Also Catra, Scorpia and Entrapta are the absolute Misfit crew. None of them fit in, really. Catra is an outcast in the horde, Entrapta is an outcast in etheria, and than we have Scorpia who is only a bad guy because Horde took over her family's kingdom and is actually a sweetheart. They are just the tree misfits and I feel like that's why Catra feels bad hurting them because she knows she is like them. But Catra wants an escape from her role of scapegoat
As a person on the spectrum, I dealt like Entrapta well represents the autism community. There is so much I have in common with her. We both love science and robots. I like how she is portrayed as not being a “stupid person who is always getting in the way” but who is actually smart but has social issues and imperfections which makes her unique.
I got to admit that Entrapta's love for tech can get out of hand but that won't stop me from loving her the most (and she at least has no bad intentions)
Entrapta is absolutely my favorite character. The developers created a character who perfectly represents a person on the autistic spectrum. She’s so cute, sweet,CHAOTIC and her relationship with Hordak is beautiful

I don’t think so
There are scorpion people, cat people, lizard people and even a shapeshifter. I’m going with yea. She was born with that hair.

I was so confused cause I was thinking "weren't the chips still functioning when she got teleported?"

Scorpia felt like the one person who could connect to Entrapta naturally. Maybe it's because of her heart, maybe it's because both of them are naive and working for the wrong side despite not being bad people. I think it's closer to the latter, them being similar.

Thank the creather of the show for making a likable obsive autistic carether
My favourite entrapta moment: when she doesnt remember any of the plan for rescuing bow and glimmer from the horde, all because the way adora assigned the lipstick, perfume and minitures ect was illogical. she was completely thrown off because one little, inconsiquential thing that doesnt quite make sense. I related to that so much. I just love entrapta so much.
True Neutral would be she does not care about anything basically. Thats an absolute Chaotic Neutral for me.
I love how they put her on the spectrum but didn't draw any attention to it. I feel like many people don't even realize (like the creator of this video apparently)

The worst thing hordak has done in their relationship is yell for personal space/keep his dying body a secret, the bad things that happen to entrapta in the horde are by *catra* (who has done almost as much war crimes as hordak, so if she can be forgiven quickly for loving adora, then hordak can start redemption for having a healthy relationship and growing up in a cult/only ever knowing prime's ways)
thank you!
THANK YOU THIS NEEDED TO BE SAID!!
THANK YOU SO MANY PEOPLE DONT REALIZE THIS
I was going to say something like this.

I agree

Yay the person who also does “dirty jokes in ____” and I love it.
@@xenon333 what does that mean?
(Entrapta is not stupid and makes her allegiance decisions for herself in a much smarter way than we realize; she's not nearly as gullible as people think!)

Yeah, probably.
Entrapta was by far my favorite character in the entire show. Finding out she is on the spectrum too only makes me love everything about her more. Her passion, her personality, and that little bit of pain i feel from knowing just how hard it is to interact with other people makes her my favorite character. Absolute best.
Yes, I really relate to her lol.
Dang it, I considered watching the show and now I have to just to see this awesome character
Entrapta is by far one of the best characters! and the show is pretty good, I totally recommend it
i absolutely love Entrapta! she is an amazing character with so much depth.
Don't forget! Your imperfections are beautiful!!!
I effing love entrapta
She is the character I see myself as most in the show as a fellow neurodivergent
Plus her hair is purple AND PREHENSILE!
Dude, she *built her own parents*
She basically had to parent herself and only had her own creations to keep her company.
(Designing her home as a labyrinth HAS TO have some meaning to it.)
Entrapta’s not stupid.
Entrapta is a-DORK-able and I love her that way
I love that her hair isn't just a tool but its part of her character and it lets her express herself and its adorable
my GF and I just adore Entrapta and this is a great video about her.
Entrapta is my waifu for this series, absolutely adore her.
Dreamworks Should make TV shows for ROTG(Jack Frost,Toothfairy,Santa Claus,Sandman,Easter Bunny And Pitch Black),the 90s Cool World,Captain Planet Or Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas)!
... so many comments about that autism... I just love her for the sheer chaos she causes... such a lovable maniac
Entrapta wasn't expendable to Hordak. She was literally the only person in the universe he truly cared about. His only other friend was his pet imp.
Mhm
Since No Princess Left Behind, she practically changed the story. Not only Hordak, but many of the other characters were influenced by her actions, even if it unintentionally. Let’s see:
- Entrapta’s apparent ‘death’ at Fright Zone made Mermista and Perfuma give up, dissolving temporarily the Alliance, at the point that Adora was easily manipulated by Light Hope into believing she would do better distancing from her friends, until Swift Wind saved the day.
- She taught Catra about the true importance of the Black Garnet, motivating the cat-girl to finally put an end on Shadow Weaver’s abuse - and also caused the witch’s fall, through Hordak’s eyes. Thus, Entrapta was partly responsible for SW switching sides again and Glimmer start learning magic (honestly, Castaspella...)
- She hacked the Black Garnet, almost destroying Etheria’s environment and causing the fall of Bright Moon. By the good side, however, that made Perfuma and Mermista run to their friends’ aid and Frosta joining them, so the Alliance came back stronger and for good. (and Entrapta’s speech made Catra being promoted again, in spite of her defeat)
- She convinced Hordak to send Catra for the Crimson Waste instead of Beast Island.
Sorry for replying 1 year later:
Excellent summary of the amount of chaos Entrapta has caused merely by being herself.
“She don’t have powers” GURL she can walk on her hair-
4:33 in a tone which suggests she literally *does machines*: "Oh my, you very technologically advanced"
Damn Entrapta got a huge glow up
I wish I had entraptas confidence in herself...
Aw I sorry. Used to struggle with that too.
7:33 Scorpia's family handing over the land and stone is probably just Horde propaganda.
As I recall, Scorpia started having doubts about what she's been told when she was about to leave with Emily, and the Lightspinner flashback seemed to imply that the Horde took the land and the garnet by force.
netflix need to make a serie just for entrapta
i'm getting an Entrapta tattoo tomorrow, so here I am loving her and enjoying this video
Pffft talks about how Shera and Catra kissed but not about how Hordak and Entrapta understand and love each other
Entrapta and Hordak's relationship was WAY more healthy than Catra and Adora, who spend the first 4 seasons trying to kill each other. Hordak was the only living creature aside from Scorpia who loved and respected everything about Entrapta. Strange that the tyrannical warlord and the autistic science geek are a much better example of a healthy relationship than the cute cat girl and the saviour of the universe.
@@tomnorton4277 :D yep
This is my all time favorite channel! You girls Rock!!!!!!!!!!!
Who else is absolutely obsessed with Entraptas and Hordaxs relationship?
This is not a video on symbolism, this is just a recap of what Entrapta does throughout the show.
Metal robot? Bio robot? Entrapta will love them all.
Well when I see Entrapta I see her as super cute, a bit confused, innocent hyped teen, I like her very much for her energy and this innocence cutness
Tiene entro 20 y 30 años no es una adolescente
Mhm, Scorpia do be a real treasure.
as an autistic person entrapta is wonderful representation and she makes me feel normal i love her so so so much, her and catra are definitely my favourite characters
Whitney, you are the perfect person to talk about Entrapta because every once in a while, OMG, you sound so much like her!!!! :)
To be fair, hordak didnt abandon her but was manipulated by catra. Also the latter did the same with the princesses
Yep. A point this vid kinda glosses over lol.
I love my cute misfit trio 😻😻😻
As a person on the spectrum, I dealt like Entrapta well represents the autism community. There is so much I have in common with her. We both love science and robots. I like how she is portrayed as not being a “stupid person who is always getting in the way” but who is actually smart but has social issues and imperfections which makes her unique.
I got to admit that Entrapta's love for tech can get out of hand but that won't stop me from loving her the most (and she at least has no bad intentions)
Yis lol, she’s great
Entrapta is absolutely my favorite character. The developers created a character who perfectly represents a person on the autistic spectrum. She’s so cute, sweet,CHAOTIC and her relationship with Hordak is beautiful
