3:51 I think the reason why mermista’s father is never seen in the show is because he’s dead and the word “retired” is just the 2016 she-ra slang for “death” in order to sound more friendly.
If borderline suicidal season 3 Catra can say "I'd rather see the whole world end" during the portal episode, if Catra can mutter "I'm going to kill your friends" to Adora after Glow (GlimmerXBow) kept spinning her around ("Catra's first mission" on repeat) following her season 5 switch to the side of the good guys, if Entrapta can say "We're all going to die" when faced with imminent peril, if Shadow Weaver can audibly threaten young Catra by telling her "I only keep you around because Adora's fond of you, but if you do anything to jeopardize her future, I will not hesitate to permanently dispose of you myself, do you understand", if Queen Angella's self sacrifice can be classified as a death, if Shadow Weaver throwing herself at the horrific tentacle monster representing the First One's security system (according to Horde Prime) was necessary to permanently get rid of the abusive mother figure to Catra & Adora in the final episode, and if Adora can almost die multiple times over (as the centerpiece for The Heart of Etheria super weapon & after realizing she may have to sacrifice herself for the greater good if she can't transform back into She-Ra once the Fail Safe inside her is activated), then the show can get away with saying "death".
