- This is part 9 of my brand new series I'm calling CUSTOM or CLASSIC! I am taking two identical cars and restoring one ORIGINAL and one MODIFIED, which one will bring me back more money when I sell them and which one will you like the most?
In this video I fit the arches and rear tubs.

Wow, how could they make the X-crap kit *SOOOoo* off..? I had to pause the video to show the wife! Even she was flabbergasted!! Shame really, the X-packs look amazing - The 'scort is still gonna look amazeballs though :)
I'm so glad I've found your channel. This takes me way back, but it still seems like yesterday when I owned rear drive Ford Escorts.

Really nice how you are saving the future owner the pain of a split and cracked body kit. My RS2000 nose cone had a constantly re-appearing split... Argggh!

I had as a first car a signal yellow mk1 fiesta X pack. It was a bad base twisted to death an a kinked roof it should have went in the bin but i persisted .It looked sweet but sadly it was just a looker . Had deep dish Rs 4 spokes on and it was a nice looking kit with fab lines and a vinyl roof which hid the roof bodge ! So i took an offer on it and let the next owner continue . Bro had a black super sport mk 1 with janspeed exhaust and 4 branch . It was awesome .Simple perfection for a 17-18 year old! Thanks fellas .
Looks brilliant with the forest arch kit!
I've never really liked the X Pack kits... they aren't a great look on Mk2s, the slightly understated look is far better than way over the top.
Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do on the paint.... personally I think it would look amazing in that metallic / pearlescent purple the Series 1 Escorts Cosworths used to get .
Group 4 arches always the dogs nuts on a mk2.

Getting there, the forest arch is a classic look. I do like the look of the x-pack arches but a shite fibreglass kit is no good to man nor beast. You have the skills to of fabricated your own quattro style wings for a one off look, a bit more subtle than the x-pack. Can't wait to see what colour it goes, I'm all for yellow, but could be biased.

Love love love your videos especially watching true craftsmen at workI’m sorry but I just want more, am I being greedy?! Haha. You know you can get 15” RS 4 spokes now, maybe a different option to minilites if you were looking? What colour you guys thinking? Is it next Tuesday yet!?
Getting there boys!! back one's are spot on 👌 the front ones should be just below the swage line on the wing for a forest car, but a bit lower may be more in keeping with the look you're going for, if you're running 15s you'll need to check for clearance on the outer arch and the inner arch/footwell, depending on tyre size and ride height you may run into issues!! But it's looking good, much better option than that X-pap kit 🤣🤣

Hi guys right choice not to proceed with that rubbish kit the car will look wicked with forest arch kit nice job with rear tubs however maybe in the future if you get your hands on original xpac kit that would be great too top job guys as always 👍👍👍

I think the other kit would have been a bit over the top,it looks the business with the proper kit,you have to spray it gun metal grey with bronze 15 mini lights,I seen one at a show way back and it look awesome

That's going to look class men definitely I'd go with 15" wheels fill the arches out far better and leaves it that you don't have to go to low to fill the arches keep the good work up men

How did you fix the 10mm gap between the driver's front wing and the front panel? First it was there, then it was gone..
I went and had lunch, came back and Keith had done it so didn’t get it on camera! He’s too fast sometimes! Basically the top where it met the wing was not close enough so played with it and got it up.
I loved that music during the first five seconds of the show! Actually it was the highlight! (Just joking boys)😊

There must be more modified mk1 and mk2 escorts on the road than standard ones ever left the factory, everyone gets a standard car and chops it up, forget what a nice standard survivor looks like.

You've got to paint and decal this up to a late 70s, early 80 rally car - Cossack, Eaton Vale, Andrews heat For Hire, etc, etc..........if ya don't - like I've said before, I'm going to break in and do it myself and run like fuck, you'll never catch me as I'm fat and 60. .
It's a shame about the x pack but the arches looks great.and go for the 15 s

Looking good lads,shame the crappy ebay kit was,well............crap!!! how does a supposedly compatible kit turn out so bad,there feedback must be shyt.The kit should of had a warning from the London underground.Good on the competition site as well,hope it all goes to plan.

Wouldve been nice to see the xpack because you dont see many of them these days (to be different) and id love to build a full group4 xpack with a millington lol.. it does look well smart in group4 arches though. What color you guys thinking?

Hi guys great work got a question thinking of replacing the rear arches on my mk2 2 door along with the outer edge of the inner arch question is do you spot weld these where they meet together cheers
Yeah thanks for that I did mean plug weld lol can you also bond them 👍
I’d probably do a bit of both, weld it then the bond so the water doesn’t get in. Put that weld through primer on the edges also, halfrauds sell the Upol zink weld through in a rattle can 👍

That X-pack kit was a really poor fit despite supposedly being a direct mould off an original Mk 1 errr, ooops!

Wow front valance 6 inch to wide and the xpack arche's far from fit for purpose what a shame on materials and man hours and even the moulds for that kit but someone needs to get costs back such a shame tbh
