👍 The Youngstown Anthology book that gives a well-rounded examination of Youngstown:

The narrow gauge railroad, 2' / two foot wide, 40 ton engine moves dirt from the woods to fill in the front display bank at J&L. I volunteered and helped move some dirt for an exciting day of railroad work.
There where only two filers both with equipment. The Ford excavator's back end fell off, yes, that's right, it ripped right off! Apparently they are not built correctly and only have a 1/4 inch plate holding the back on. The other failure is when one of the dump cars derailed over the frog and broke its wheel. That was exciting!
J & L currently has seven engines on display, five as static displays and two operational displays that patrons can ride on. The museum has lots of old mill equipment to see, plus much more historical items that are in the works.

Too bad 58 couldn´t express herself good. Make her working hard and you´ll be impress by her loud barking. She can really vocalize good when throttle is open. May be a bit tiny but that
0-4-0 is really powerful. Today she feeled to be a gentle meaowing tidy cat 😊😊

She does back draft through the fire box and makes a very loud growl

Ice is strong enough to sank a vessel. Molding a new wheel with it should do...as long as temperature stay below freezing mark. After all ice bridges were seldom used by railroads in winter. 😅😅

Yes and yes. They work on the old steam locomotive using period correct tools and equipment. It's a really neat experience.
