Harvard, like most universities, is doing a LOT of amazing research.
Part of the role they are playing is to understand what is possible. Without that, most social progress would stop.

My Israeli relative studied at Harvard a few years back. She used to tell us that the vulgar rhetoric of a large part of the lecturers when Israel was mentioned was insane! At a time when Syria, Sudan, and Yemen had more deaths per year than in the 75-year conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, the professors were obsessed only about Israel.
well all those conflicts have US coups behind, meanwhile Israel was established by stealing 750k people's home and killing 15k people that resisted, every country has a history only israel has a criminal record.

This antisemitism in university and colleges has gone on for decades, those professors are teaching what they were indoctrinated with. And for some years now, other graduates of that antisemitism are teaching in our elementary and high schools, along with their hatred of our country. You can witness the results of this on our city and town streets every day.
I also heard that. Friend got a masters there and she said the antisemitism and other intolerant sentiment was more or less encouraged by her professors and studemts were afraid to disagree (if they actually did) bc your grade was punished. Its a terrible place.

Harvard teaches students to listen to people they disagree with, and get the facts from all sides, before they attack them. That's a skill that you obviously haven't learned. You should learn the meaning of the First Amendment before you try to destroy the American education system.
All of Rep Good's questions were, at best, unfair characterizations of what is happening on college campuses.
The right to free speech is foundational to a college.
It is extremely difficult to balance that with student safety (both physical and psychological).
A key part of what is causing the 'problem' here is binary thinking (100% good v 100% bad, 100% right v 100% wrong)...exemplified by Rep Good's questions/commentary.

The First Amendment protects free speech, but there are some categories of speech that are not protected. One of which is "True Threats". The Supreme Court has defined true threats as "statements where the speaker means to communicate a serious expression of an intent to commit an act of unlawful violence to a particular individual or group of individuals". From the River to the Sea is one such threat.
"From the river to the sea" is only a threat because the ADL says it is. The words are just that, only words. I'm starting to learn how a foreign govt thinks they are better than others every day.

‘Second tier’ college presidents should be putting together plans & policies to insure their programs produce & their schools promote themselves as ‘The New Elite’ schools. A plan should be made & Put in effect in order to offset the ‘ivy league’.
DEFUND HARVARD
I am the mother of two sons, and education has always been a priority for me. I'm hesitant to send kids to university if these are the people who shape them. I do not want people like these close to my children ever.
Wow our children deserve a great education as well you know. But...
The lady says "I abhor all acts of hate". What an odd statement, basically saying I hate all acts of hate. . .
What exactly is odd about that?
Mankind has much to thank millenials for. They were to first to discover that hate is bad and black lives matter. Where would we be without them.

Shame on Claudine Gay. She had an opportunity to behave decently. But I don't know if she knows what that means. She's lost in today's demagogy. Hope she's fired. Harvard is important, representative, and deserves a President's moral integrity who sees the need for real action to defend the Jews on campus, both from violent students moved by a blind hatred or mental incompetence ( yes, at Harvard ) and from out-of-line professors.
Harvard has some very serious problems that need addressing now.
Just a thought, withhold ALL public, hopefully and also, private funding. No $ to any educational institutions that do not quell protests and hate speech under the guise of free speech.

I will never send my kids to study in such places!!
My friend (who is white) had a 1600 and got rejected. Performance means nothing these days. Unless you check the “right” boxes you have no chance. Hopefully, there will be more lawsuits coming for violating title 6. This type of blatant discrimination has been going on for decades.

Universities receive a majority of their funding from PRIVATE donors and local sources, not government or federal.
