Thank you for your information, Peter. I have flown in and out of MSP many times since you made this particular video. The airport is now very busy. I have taken advantage of the “hidden” stairway to the observation deck. The most people I’ve encountered there is four. It’s a good place to see some beautiful colors when planes are getting de-iced at night.
I work at MSP. It was fun seeing you walk around the some of the places where I walk around every time I work. I always hangout in Concourse D but I never realized that there was no sign to the observation deck. There used to be a sign, but I guess they took it down. Great video.
After watching this video I’m remembering all of the times I’ve been there even the ones that I had forgotten! Thanks for making this video because this helped unlock some forgotten memories that I had there
I'm nostalgic for that Obs Deck at Concourse D, first time I went up there was during the Northwest hub era in the 90s, it would get crowded with families/kids up there. Nowadays it just feels like a rarely cleaned attic. My favorite thing to do at MSP (when I would do my yearly mileage runs to maintain SkyTeam Elite Plus status) were to go to the Delta Service Desk near G10 and get cardstock boarding passes printed, also they had those red ticket jackets I could keep those boarding passes in, and occasionally they'd have Biscoff and/or peanuts and Dasani out for everyone in line. Sometimes I could even request one of the old generic navy blue amenity kits, before they started using those black Kiehl kits. Fun times! - Red
Splendid! Great nitty-gritty-detailed on MSP! Great to know that MSP had (has) museums and even a movie theater enlightening one of the history of the region! ---And what? Food-trucks in an Airport terminal? Wow! I once had a weird experience at MSP: I had put together the quarter-coins collected in a large roll, and the Airport Security got baffled about how come the passenger had been carrying so much of metal...perhaps some contraband radioactive stuff (!)???. When it turned out that the 'stuff' was so innocuous ---- the quarters packed together, all the Security guys burst into laughter! As for me, I thereafter always carry the coins, if I must, in a strong zip-lock bag packed loosely. Just wanted to share and give a heads-up!
I like to get my bearings before I go someplace. This was a nice video to help me navigate that airport. Thanks for putting your time into creating the content.
Thanks for the tour! This is the US airport I know best, visited most often from the UK. I have often walked around most of it myself to get in some exercise and sense of freedom before being boxed in for a long haul flight home.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been watching with my gf recently :)
I have just had a layover over at the Minneapolis-St Paul airport. It is a gorgeous airport. And I hope that I get the opportunity to get back to the airport very soon.
Peter, you should do an updated one, post-Pandemic. I went through MSP for the first time in about 9 years last summer. Not much had changed. The bar you went past at A9 is still closed. The pinball machines are gone and there is just tables and chairs in that area.
#1 Being a Minnesota resident I’ve been to MSP many times, even pre-9/11 when you could go and meet your incoming friends/family right at the gate! And #2: Has anyone ever told you that especially in the voiceovers you sound eerily like Alec from Technology Connections, same vocal range, same inflections…
I don't know if you'll see this, but if by chance you do I need some advice. will be flying through MINN St Paul airport in Oct and have never been there before. I fly in on a Delta flight at 2:45 and have a connecting South West flight out of Terminal 2 at 3:40pm. So my questions are 1) do you think appx 40 is enough time to get from Term1 to 2? 2) how do you get to the little tram that takes you from Term 1 to Term 2. Thank you for any help
Hello. I don't think that this is a good idea. It can take up to 15 minutes to leave terminal 1. Some gates can be far away from the egress of terminal 1. There is a train that connects the two but I'm not 100% sure where it is. I think it's on the lower level of Terminal 1. I have never connected between the two. Terminal 2 is in a separate part of the airport from terminal 1 so you'll have to go through TSA once you get to Terminal 2. I hope you will not be checking a bag. I would have booked at least 2-3 hours between flights.
Thank you so much, I had a better flight on South West but the must have cancelled the flight time I was on and bumped me to an earlier flight. Yeah my guts telling me I'd be pushing it. Thanks again.@@PeterMasella
Ayy that’s my hometown airport!! Funny enough I was just at MSP a few days ago and decided to walk throughout the terminal due to my flight being delayed by a couple hours. Being an aviation enthusiast, exploring the entire terminal was super fun.
Thanks for this tour! In a couple of days, I'll be landing in MSP on my way to S.Korea. If you see this , Peter, can you or anyone tell me approximately how long it takes to walk from C24 to F14?
You can take the train along the C concourse to the mall. That will take about 4 minutes. The walk across the mall. That’s about 4 minutes. Then walk to the end of F. That’s about 4 minutes.
Which concourses does Delta usually use? I have seen C and F. Any others? We will be having a layover here later this year with Delta and this will be the first time at this airport.
@@PeterMasellaflying to and from here is gonna be interesting. I'm assuming the plane from Orlando will be huge, so that might land at concourse F or G. Would Delta consider Milwaukee regional? When we flew from Detroit to Milwaukee, it was a smaller plane. Milwaukee and Minneapolis is not that far away from each other either. So wondering if our connecting flight will fly out of concourses A or B. 😅😊 Will know when we land. Thank you for the video. It has help. The terminal is huge!!!!!
thanks for your video! im travelling to MSP next month and i was wondering how the airport was☺️ just a little doubt i hope you can answer, i’m arriving at noon and leaving the next day morning, any place at the airport you would recommend spend that time on? thanks in advance!
Hi Val! Thanks for watching! Go to the 11:19 mark in the video and you can see the location of the only hotel (Intercontinental Hotel) on the airport property that is actually connected to Terminal 1. You might need to call the hotel first to make sure that the bridge and entry point to the terminal will be open during the time of your visit.
@@valperdomo9642 I’m gonna be there soon and I would gladly like to say to never ever ever worry about any sort of long lines or anything like that because it’s mostly never full and a absolutely beautiful!

I got a solid 5 minutes in MSP. The passport control in MSP is awful. The security check point after the passport control is also terrible. I mean, they had 1 person for international passengers and just 3 people for US citizens. I had a an entire 3 hour connection, and somehow I barely made it to my connection. I hate this airport. I was REALLY hoping to stay in the MSP Delta Sky Lounge. But because of MSP's international checkpoint, I had no time but to kill my legs. I have the Delta Reserve card, now I am applying for my Real ID to get Global Entry for free and get TSA Pre Check also for free.

I did connect in MSP once in January 2017 DCA-MSP-DEN on Delta. Great hub! Also the flights were on MD-88s- glad I got to fly on those before they were retired in 2020.
