    Thanks for this. Flown in to MSP several times while my son was at the U. However, next week Flying in from Nashville with father in law who is 87. Because of his age i wanted to make sure to minimize my errors. Your video helped remind me of how that little tram just goes back and forth. I remember the first time I went to visit my son years ago, it was indeed confusing. Enough so that I rode it 3 times before recognizing what was going on. I’ll not mess up this time. : )

    This was so helpful! Thanks for taking time out to do these videos. I'm flying MSP non-stop to Dublin in June. I've flown a few times, but this is my first solo flight and I've been so nervous about navigating an airport alone. I wasnt much help at ORD. So this and your other two MSP videos have definitely lessened my anxiety. I've downloaded Aer Lingus app, MSP app, and have global entry. I'm driving from Lincoln NE to MSP so I can fly non-stop. I rented parking at a nearby hotel and am taking their shuttle to and from the airport. Something that's been vexing me though is trying to figure is locating the Global Entry line. On the MSP website, it clearly lists the Global Entry "interview" area by baggage claim 11, but I feel like that's where you'd go to do the interview to GET GE. I already have it. So I'm assuming the GE security line will be near the regular security line. Would you happen to have any idea? Also, do you know if TSA @ MSP wants us to pull out our prescription meds? If so, I want to make sure I keep them in original containers. Thanks again to you and your family for taking the time to film such informative tours of the airport. I also very much enjoyed some of your safety videos. Your daughter is very smart to have thought of using a hot drink as defense if it were necessary. Hope you and yours are having a fabulous spring!!

      I am so glad that our videos are helpful to you! I'm so excited for you to visit Dublin - I love Dublin! I lived there on a homestay study abroad program when I was in high school. Global Entry includes TSA Pre-check, so when you approach security, if you do not see a sign that specifically says "Global Entry", just get in the TSA Pre-check line. I am actually working on a video specifically for first time solo fliers, but I am not sure it will be up in time for you to see it before your trip! I might tweak my video schedule. You should always keep your prescription medications in their original containers when you travel (for several reasons), but no, you do not need to pull those out of your bag when you go through security. I hope you have a fabulous trip!

      @@HeatherTravels Thanks ever so much!! How special to have been able to study abroad! If you have any off-the-beaten-path recommendations, I'm open to recommendations! I'm renting a car and driving as far as Athlone, spending the night and going on to Clifden where I spend 5 days. Then driving as far as Cavan & staying the night at a beautiful old millhouse turned B&B before continuing to Downpatrick for 4 days. Then back to Dublin to fly home. The rx bottles take up so much room that I always dispense to a tiny container but I'll see if my pharmacist has smaller bottles & go from there!!

      Your planned itinerary sounds really neat! Have you ever driven on the left before? We went to Clifden on an overnight class excursion and it was beautiful.

      @@HeatherTravels I drove when we went the last time. Two of the best Ireland driving mantras were "driver by the center line" and "Right BITES". The narrow roads are certainly hair raising also!

    This will definitely be helpful to people trying to find their way around the Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport. It is always a little challenging to land at an airport you have never been to before and try to find your way around - especially if it is a really big airport. Thanks for sharing these airport locations with us!

    Thank you! I'm flying thru MSP for the first time this summer and was nervous about it as I've only flown out of Madison and Chicago in the Midwest. Looks easy enough!

    Thank you for the video! I have lived in Minneapolis for the first 12 years of my life and have not returned since moving away about 10 years ago. It seems like this airport has completely changed over the years!

    10:21 Spirit is actually in Terminal 1, but other airlines are correct for Terminal 2
    Great video, and love going to my home airport whenever I need to fly out or pick someone up. Lots of people use MSP to get to places including folks from Iowa, the Dakotas, and Wisconsin! I only used Silver Ramp once cuz the other ramps were full, but usually use gold/green since it connects to the main terminal via the sky bridge 🤩 Love this airport, and can understand why some people rate this the best airport in America.

    if we are picking up someone and planning on parking there for a few hours, would we just go to the short/long term parking like you mentioned at 1:29

    • @HeatherTravels
      @HeatherTravels  4 місяці тому

      Yes, follow the signs for short-term parking or hourly parking. No matter which color you park in, you can access the terminal either via the skyway or below ground - just follow the signs to "Departures" and then take the escalator or elevator to Arrivals. Make sure you are at the right terminal! Check with the person flying to make sure you know which airline they are on. The budget airlines are at Terminal 2, which has its own parking ramp. Check out my "Flying Solo" video that I made after this one for even more specifics!

    I just watched your other video about navigating the airport. Thank you for making. I will be flying in very soon and had a question about the rental car return. Do I take the first exit, that you almost did, or keep going to the silver lot? Thank you

    • @HeatherTravels
      @HeatherTravels  4 місяці тому

      Take the first exit. Follow the signs for rental car return. Even though the cars are stored in the silver ramp and the rental car counters are on the ground floor of the silver ramp, rental car customers need to go to a different side of the ramp; it is physically divided from the parts that the public can park in.
