These high elo games are absolute gold!! I don't even play the Jobava London but you've got me hooked on your Jobava videos!! Would love to see some high elo Caro Kann too :)))
Hey Alex, can't wait to buy the course. I would like to see how you play against an early c5 push. Like 1. d4-d5, 2. Nc3 - Nf6, 3. Bf4 - e6, 4. e3 - c5
Hey Alex, big fan here… I have a request… I love your carro kann videos and because of you I developed a pretty strong understanding of the opening. Anyways I’ve just been defeated by the accelerated panov attack seeing it for the first time against a 1600 (I’m 1450). Can you do a video focusing on the panov? Specifically asking you to go over 1. E4 C6 2. C4 D5. 🙏 anyways quick thank you for everything you’ve done thus far in helping me grow stronger.
This is a master class…every thing Alex says during the game is super valuable i’m gonna rewatch play it in a study and take all these notes as annotations… also can’t wait for the course
Key Ideas after the game is a very good addition! Looking forward to your course. I play the Jobava as White and almost always win, unless my opponent is much higher rated. My coach says I am about 1600 - 1700 Elo in the USCF system.
Thank you! I would consider myself fairly advanced, but very hit and miss in consistency. These games really drove home the fact that my timing tends to be off slightly and that is why i cant break 2100. Youre emphasis on tempo and pawn breaks has helped as well. I tend to focus more on tactics.
Thank you so much for continuing the high ELO games, they have been amazingly instructive for me to see the long term game plans against these players instead of just trick/traps and easy conversion
Ahhhh !! This is why i need this course, not even 2 minutes in and i already realized what ive been doing wrong!!! When that bisop came out on move 2, i was doing it wrong!! I kept still devloping my black bishop then trying to pawn storm.. thank you for helping cus i actually see this 2nd move bishop attack alot at my mere 850 elo
I actually used to play it like that too in the videos, but after doing more testing...I realised that this is the best way to combat black delaying Nf6 move. For instance if you play 3.Bf4 e6 4.f3 Bd6 (or other ideas delaying Nf6 could be annoying). It's true that quite often it will transpose to normal pawn storm, but by using this central storm strategy there will be no room for black to deviate.
@AlexBanzea Thanks so much for that dude! That makes so much practical sense as you described. I need to work on my endgame theory and principles and i think ill be on my way but your Jobava has gotten me such great positions, its my go to now
Keen for course. I have Ginger GM course but your ideas seem better. Stracpac. Maybe short chapter at end showing how to play against Jabova as more take it up. ?
Ben Finegold (and I) say openings don't matter if you're hanging your pieces. What good is it to get a nice position out of the opening only to lose your pieces to basic tactics? Solution is lots of puzzles and go over each game with the engine.
I play caro and london as my two main openings/defense, and I watch Alex all the time, best chess teacher. I have gone up 350 elo since a few months ago watching him :)
Hi Alex! Thanks for your videos and courses, I am a happy owner of both Caro and London and really impressed by them. Any plans for a d4 course for Black? Perhaps Modern Benoni, Grunfeld or Benko?
I have seen you call the e3 x Bf4 structure a boa constrictor but, man, that first game, your opponent really had no space and no moves! These high level Jobava games are great, thank you Alex 👍
@@AlexBanzea Yes, I just described it in a bad way, I meant when your opponent takes your bishop on f4 and you recapture with the pawn on e3. I've used it in some games to win 👍

As a 1800 i see a lot of nf6 and bf5 as white on move 2 and 3 (i think i had a game just like your last one recently). I just hope you go over the plans in those positions where bkack plays bf5 etc... really well. I feel its hard to get an advantage.
really enjoyed the first game, you made it look easy, but when they hide on the lower ranks like that you have to be very careful, which you were. very nice game.
My username is BlunderBland, I paused jobava recently as I find the pawn storm very double edged. Either you crush or get crushed. I rolled back to the London for now

The ending of game 2 deserves 1000 likes on its own, genuinely impressive

Great games, I especially get the move order a lot of the last game. Hope you really go over those positions in your course.
At 7:47 in the first game, what stopped you from playing queen b5
Thanks for the vid. In game 2, at 32:27 I think b4 works for white, black can't take twice as you say, his rook is hanging on a8
you are missing b4 axb4 axb4 Rxa1!

I'd love to see a Jobava London against a king side fianchetto. Thanks for all the material which helps me to improve !
At 53:34 I was thinking that g6?! seems interesting. Black can't create this impenetrable structure by playing g6 and the pawns will likely fall.
7:20 why no Qb5? Attacking Pawn b7 and on Bb4?
Keen for course. I have Ginger GM course but your ideas seem better. Stracpac. Maybe short chapter at end showing how to play against Jabova as more take it up. ?
