Hunchback of Notre Dame is SOOO underrated, definitely top five best Disney movies of all time. Frightening villain, impeccable score, great characters. Hercules is so much fun. If you're not sure if you have or not you should watch it. Hades is hilarious!
My vote is in for Hunchback!
I vote for this one
The voice of Moana is Auli'i Cravalho. This was her first role, she was chosen after an intense audition process, and she was the last person to audition. And she *killed* it! I believe she was 15 when she won the role.
Also, HeiHei gets even funnier when you realize that was a person making those chicken sounds. Look up "Alan Tudyk I went to Julliard" and you won't be disappointed.
The same writer (Lin Manuel Miranda) did the music for both Moana and Encanto! He’s also the voice of Moana’s ancestor from We Know the Way
The Emperor's New Groove and Meet the Robinson's are amazing and highly underrated!!! Same with Atlantis and Treasure Planet. Animated Mulan is a must see, same with pretty much all of them from the 90s (Aladdin, Hercules, Tarzan, etc) Rescuer's & Rescuer's Down Under are wonderful as well! Now for current ones: Frozen and Frozen 2 are actually really good! Big Hero 6 is OUTSTANDING as well as Zootopia! I highly recommend all of these! Excited to see you react to more Disney stuff! You should watch Pixar as well, TONS of amazing films from them!
So, the Grandma is one of my favorite Disney characters, ever. My personal head canon is that she was, also, chosen as a child by the ocean to carry the heart, but she turned it down to stay on the island, and follow tradition. And she regretted it ever since. This is why she is , so, in touch with the ocean and knew exactly what it meant when the ocean gave the heart to Moana, why she kept it safe, and why she spent her whole life preparing her for when it was her turn. She was a friend of the Ocean, and that is why she, immediately, came back as a spirit guardian, in the form of a Manta Ray, and helped Moana so much. She never tried to make the decision for her, she made sure she knew what her choices were, and that she always had a choice.
Also the heart probably kept her alive
Wait I actually ADORE that theory!!
@@Hanmacx Quite possibly, seeing as she died very shortly after giving it back to Moana.
@@rach3092 Thank you. I would love to have confirmation it was true.
@@samuelvincent557 the Grandma knew that without the heart she wouldn't survive
Emperor's New Groove is a must watch!
Atlantis and treasure planet are two underrated movies that are so great! Mulan(animated)and robin hood are great as well! Really you can't go wrong 😜
One animated movie that is not Disney but is on Disney plus is Anastasia! Would love to see that reaction ☺️
Tune in to my Tangled reaction, I'll be going through the Pixar movies same as i did at the beginning of this one
Finally someone who truly appreciates Tamatoa!
Lol he was amazing!!
I believe this movie is mostly a mixture of different Polynesian cultures. But you are right about the foreheads/noses touching being significant! The Māori people call it Hongi while the Hawaiian people call it Honi. It's a greeting in which the foreheads and noses connect to share the breath of life. It comes from a Māori folklore story on the creation of life, where the god, Tāne, formed the first woman out of the Earth's soil and "breathed life into her nostrils."
My people came from the Andes, but I honestly love learning about the different indigenous cultures around the world and the things we share in common despite that we came from such different places, so that's the only reason I know this. I think History was the only class I passed with high marks in high school. 😂
You are correct. The Disney story team blended several Polynesian, Hawaiian, and other Oceanic tribal leaders and story keepers. And if I am not mistaken Te Fetti is what old white dudes named Tahiti.
Unfortunately Disney's Copyright for this movie was really intense so I had to cut out way more audio than I usually have to.
I plan on doing more Disney animated movies in the future!
Cheers
I thought it was my earbuds lol
the lion king, tangled, beauty and the beast, the emperors new groove and mulan sit firmly as my top 5 Disney movies of all time (in no particular order).
aside from the obvious nostalgia of watching movies from childhood, these are genuinely some of the best animated movies to come out of Disney. tangled, the emperors new groove and mulan can appeal very well to adults and even have those classic jokes that kids literally wouldn't understand.
plus any movie with Eddie Murphy as a voice actor is fun to watch
Fun fact about Moana: They had to tone down the water and effects because they looked TO REALISTIC!
This isn’t true. The only reason they made changes to water was because they wanted it to show emotion and be a character, not so it would look more animated.
media.disneyanimation.com/uploads/production/publication_asset/163/asset/Moana-_Performing_Water.pdf
Pacific Islanders really did stop traveling between islands for around 2000 years and no one knows why.
Fascinating
There were some theories when the movie came out that Maui is Moana's grandad (for some reason), and the idea was from how casual the grandmother was with the spiritual aspects of their people, like a sentient ocean, and her accurate knowledge of the past. It's a nice little theory to dwell on, in my opinion.
Very recommended movie from me is Brother Bear. Just a beautiful story that i try to tell everyone to watch. Inside out and finding dory I definitely recommend as well.
I can't wait for your reactions Tangled, Inside Out, Frozen 1&2, Zootopia, How to train your dragon all 3 parts, Brave, Soul, Ferdinand, Big Hero 6! They're all my favorite animated movies☺️ Please put these all on your list!🥰
Man, I want you to react to all of them LOL
The Great Mouse Detective is really underrated, it had a great villain. You don't see many reactions to it.
Rescuers Down Under is great, but it's a sequel to The Rescuers so you might want to watch that one first.
Treasure Planet is animation ART.
Its so hard deciding if i do really popular movies, or obscure ones. The obscure ones never do good views (you'd think being the ONLY reaction on youtube, that would move the needle), but some of those random movies are so freaking entertaining lol.
Emperors New Groove is the best. Alot of them are good, but that ones really funny.
I gave this one a watch and I was blown away, as you grow your sensibilities grow, these movies pack so much more than I remember. It's a different another league with these Disney films.
The live action Mulan is WAY different than the animated Mulan. They completely miss the point of the original. I'd like to see your reaction to the animated one for the differences.
This story is actually inspired by the fact that there was doe a while a lot of traveling between the pacific islands (There is a reason that both the people of Hawai'i and the Maori of new zealand have stories about maui - the New zealand settlers appear to have come from the pacific islands in Boats, just like these.
But there for a pretty long span, there was no exploring at all. The connections were severed and the Different cultures started to evolve away from each other. And then, suddenly, a resurrgence of Exploring happened.
Anthropologists have no explenaition for the stop or the restart of the Exploring, but this movie took the Idea and made it the sort of legend that would arise from something like this.
"Haven't seen mulan but I have seen the live action" that sentence hurt 😬
Oh my wow, Lilo & Stitch is a MUST SEE 🔥🔥🔥
Disney animation movies recommendation(also adding some pixar movies which are technically disney too like coco) : Big hero 6, up, inside out, zootopia , tangled, ratatouille, finding nemo, wall e, incredibles, soul. Well i could go on and on with these recommendations but let's stop since these are plenty for now😬😂
Inside Out and Incredibles will be high on the list for sure
Inside out is great
If it’s at all helpful, the entire cast is of Pacifica heritage- Māori, Samoan, Hawaiian, and I think One of the Singers/writers -Opetoia Foi’a - is from Fiji? The choir for the soundtrack is as well. So the Rock might not have the voice you would picture, but he’s certainly a worthy Samoan heritage actor to play someone larger-than-life ✨
Oh I've heard the rock sing Blue Sued, Leaving Sacramento and others during his wrestling career. Dudes got singing chops lol
The animation is incredible. I was mesmerized by her hair. Like, how the heck did they do that??
29:27 _The Emperor's New Groove_ has an old lady in it who is very much _not_ close to death + very little singing.
I love that iiconics shirt!!! You should definitely see inside out
A lot of good films on Disney plus. Personally I'm a fan of sword and the stone and artistocats
If
Mother boats are actually amazing designs because it’s impossible for them to fill up wit water and sink. They may be a little more unstable on the water it also you can turn them around whenever they fall down.
Going to make a sandwich and sit down to enjoy this reaction. Moana is stunning....the animation is just beyond gorgeous. The music is wonderful as well. Great choice to react to...As far as what you asked regarding future films......
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, and The Prince of Egypt are among my absolute favorite animated films from childhood. They're all so fantastic. Hunchback and Prince in particular are incredibly underrated. Very dark -- right up your alley
Prince of Egypt is Dreamworks though, if I’m not mistaken, not Disney, so you’d have to stream it elsewhere. Just a heads up.
Thankyou for your suggestions and your kind words.
But we're all dying to know.... what's on the sandwich lol
@@AdamfromFWCI Proscuitto, mozarella, basil, and a little mayo! Today's sandwich was heavenly (albeit a much nicer sandwich than I have on most days hahah)
Quality! :D
@@AdamfromFWCI Absolutely, but a splurge. We’re back to regular ham and cheese this week, my guy 😂
i actually really loved all the songs except for maybe the shiny one. lol. Different taste i guess😂
🤣🤣 I've had Your Welcome stuck in my head since recording lol
Lol yeah my least favourite songs are Shiny and You're Welcome. All of Moana's songs are bangers and the scene with her Gramma's ghost always makes me tear up.
the boats are really well suited... the Polynesians traversed far farther than any other people for a thousand years in just such boats.
any sailboat can capsize if not sailed well.
The Rock might seem an odd choice until you remember that he’s half Samoan
I JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL YESTERDAY AND I LOVE YOUUU! You got me laughing so hard I woke my bf 😂 I’m so excited to watch your reactions to some of these!!!
Oh my gosh!! You HAVE to watch The Jungle Book! It's by far one of my favorite Disney movies. :)
Hunchback of Notre Dame is my fave Disney film.
I could listen to Lin- Manuel Miranda songs all day. If you’d like to see more of his then Vivo should be on the list. He voices the titular character so you get to hear his vocal skills as well.
Remember when Doug Walker thought the crab was a turtle?
Oliver and Company is so fun. Billy Joel does the soundtrack. My oldest son loved this movie. I think its been forgotten by many, which is such a shame.
And How far I'll go is by far one of my favorite Disney songs. This soundtrack is fantastic!
Oooooh I do like me some Billy Joel
you going through the list of disney movies both broke my heart and made me happy cause ill be able to see some of the reactions lol
What would you like to see the most?
@@AdamfromFWCI Treasure Planet or the Hunchback of Notre Dame (treasure planet is visually stunning and highly underrated and the hunchback of Notre dame has simply amazing music)
So the lady who works at my local coffee shop said Treasure Planet is great too
@@AdamfromFWCI Well she has good taste haha, from what I heard the reason that it flopped was because of the timing it was released
I’d watch you react to most of those honestly, but also Inside Out which is in the Pixar section on there.
Yes I just realised this.
Next up is Tangled and I'll go through the pixar section on that video lol.
Glad your enjoying the content, your comment is very sweet
Yesss inside out!
Lilo and stitch is soooo good
I agree with the title 😂
Mobsters Inc is great. I never tire of it.
I already know who his favorite character is going ybe in Tangled😂😂
🤔
I just recorded the reaction... we will see if your right because there is a character I was especially into lol
@@AdamfromFWCI fingers crossed that I'm right 🤞😂😂
😱😱 the rock was perfect but thats me
I know I'm a month late here but of the ones you said you haven't seen, I'd definitely say watch the animated Mulan. It's very good. Also, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Sword in the Stone and Tangled are all good. I didn't care so much for the first Frozen, but I actually really liked the second one. I think maybe it was all the hype around the first one that built it up too high.
Two of my favorite disney movies are Brother bear and lilo and stitch 😁
SOOOO many good ones you've missed:
bambi, Jungle book, oliver & company, Rescuers down under, pocahontas, hunchback of notre dame, Mulan (much better than live action), Tarzan, Dinosaur, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, Tangled, Zootropolis
You should react to The Hunchback of Notredame, Lilo and Stitch (you will LOVE them) and the animated Mulan.
Another amazing Animation reaction! The shiny crab was an Hommage to david bowie and is BY FAR the best animated crab out there if you ask me. Id help him up. 😂❤️I can't wait for your tangled, mulan and big hero six reactions once u got to them! No rush, but i'll keep my eyes peeled however long the wait!😍
Lol i'm hoping to do one a week, so stay tuned :D
I'm getting more and more excited with each movie i watch, I'm REALLY keen for Mulan and Tangled especially after watching Coco, Encanto and Moana
@@AdamfromFWCI nice! One a week is a great schedule! Lots of love from germany to you for the great reactions and your wife for her great movie Suggestions!
definitely check out rescuers down under, sword in the stone, the great mouse detective, and lady and the tramp
You MAY have heard How Far it Goes when Steph and Trips lipsynched it on Lipsynch challenge.
lol really?? Oh I'm down to check that out lol
Ok, I just found your channel and I’m loving it so far. I definitely recommend Emperor’s New Groove. It absolutely hilarious, and I think you’d enjoy it
Good news! It's already up! Welcome aboard
@@AdamfromFWCI Oh Sweet! I haven't had a chance to go through all your videos yet. I keep seeing different ones I want to watch
More animated movies to come? You've got my interest with that!
The Sword In The Stone, Robin Hood, Aladdin (animated), Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan (animated), The Emperors New Groove, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia - all definitely must watches from Disney
As for Pixar, the first that come to mind are Brave and Inside Out
Other than that I can only highly recommend Dreamwork's How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda trilogies - they both are the best animated trilogies I know, although for me HtTYD ranks a bit higher
Good luck getting to all of these!
Well Tangled is going up today, and that's a very comprehensive list, I'm sure I'll get to most of them if not all
Oh boy, there's so many good movies you haven't seen yet, I recommend checking out Robin Hood!
Since the majority of comments seem to be tied to recommending Disney films to you, I don't know if you've been told this yet (or even if you looked it up in your spare time). In case you didn't find out yet, Moana is actually played by Auliʻi Cravalho and this was her debut role in any media.
You should check out The Black Cauldron!! Its easily Disneys most metal cartoon
This comes from the Māori people as a culture I believe
The rock wasn’t the singer, just the talking voice of Maui
You may want to check that
Oh shit I was talking about Moana’s dad lmao stuff that happens when you day drink 😭😭
@@AdamfromFWCI the father was played by 2 separate ppl, one for singing & the other for everything else
Yesss!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I clicked so fast!
Hi there, bit late to the video but my favourite Disney movie has been Brother Bear for many years now, would love to see a reaction to that from your channel. :)
You should react to the live action Disney movies! Classic ones too! H man watch Milan it’s way different from live and Raya and Tangled and zootopia, princess and frog etc.!
Tangled is next. I'm excited to see what happens in the comments though
i saw jungle book as my first my fav is lilo and stitch
Vote for: Sword in the Stone and Emperor's New Groove
Hunchback is fantastic!!
I love that movie. Again, Lin Manuel Miranda did at least You're Welcome and Shiney for this movie.
I've seen bolt about a 1000 and 1 times but that's because of my little niece,Marion.
Madagascar franchise!!! 🦓🦁🦒🦛
Treasure Planet is a lost gem. It's really well done but was poorly marketed when it was released. The music is great and they handle the story beautifully - sons and the fathers in their life.
I know that this is an older video, however. If you ever have the chance to watch the animated movie "The Sword in the Stone" I HIGHLY recommend it. That, the live-action movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", and the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" were three Disney movies that made up my childhood. "The Sword in the Stone" has two, maybe three, characters in it that i believe you will absolutely love.
I vaguely remember seeing Roger Rabbit when I was a kid. I'll keep the others in mind too :)
3:54 Wait... it's called _Zootropolis_ in Australia? I'm Australian, and I didn't even know that.
I think Zootropolis is a different thing
@@AdamfromFWCI it's actually the same movie with a different title (for copyright reasons?) in some regions. I always think it's a bit of a shame, as you lose the echo/pun on "utopia" if the film isn't called _Zootopia._
Atlantis and Treasure Planet would be my pick for you to try
Treasure Planet is going up on patreon this weekend :D
Raya and the last dragon -my suggestion :)
The culture was Polynesian
Don’t watch the Rescuers Down Under unless you watch the Rescuers first. Cause Down Under is a sequel.
omg is it called zootroplis in australia? its zootopia in america
Lol that movie is still on my to do list, I have come so close to reacting to it and then made a last minute decision to do something else lol, its been over a year easy.
Maybe I should give it a look, what do you think?
Caught at 420 likes :P Almost don't wanna ruin it!
Me and the kids like zootopia
How's it going?
Its going good!
First!
