We are proud to announce that the Island Garden City of Samal has advanced to the TOP 5 Final Judging of the 2024 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU) Awards under the City Level 3 Category! 🏆🌴
The LGU final interview was held on September 25, 2024, at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Office, McKinley Town Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Representing Samal Island were five key officials, including:
1. Local Chief Executive, City Mayor Al David T. Uy
2. Assistant City Administrator Ms. Karen Kaye Ruiz, MPA
3. City Investment and Tourism Officer, Ms. Rosabel Jusguan
4. Development Management Officer III Ms. Cheryl Labor
5. Development Management Officer II Mr. Rasty James Vistar
The final interview included a comprehensive video presentation and a 15-minute Question and Answer portion, highlighting the city’s significant initiatives under four main criteria:
1. Fast-Tracking Sustainable Local Economic Development
2. Ease of Doing Business
3. Investment Promotion Initiatives
4. Enhancing Sectoral Competitiveness
