Thomas Jefferson refused to even set foot in a church while he was President, because he didn’t want to even BEGIN to give the impression that the government endorsed one religion over another. This dude has no idea what he’s talking about. Secularism is one of the principal blessings of this country, that keeps us from turning into a violent chaos zone like they have in the Middle East. We may have a Christian heritage in this country, but we also have a Jewish heritage and an Atheist heritage and a Muslim heritage and a Hindu heritage and a Buddhist heritage. Having a “heritage” just means there is a history of it existing in the country, not that the nation itself is Christian, or any other religion. This is not a theocracy.
You reference Jefferson as if he is God. He wasn't. I'm sure in your next breath you will condemn him for being a slave holder if it fits the point you want to make at the time. This country IS a Judeo-Christian country. Everyone else are either visitors or invaders.
I'd say that the foundations were layed in response to the oppression these particular christians had faced by the Christian Dictatorships in Europe, and that it was largely a humanist secular thing, to keep the different denominations, specifically the Puritans, from seizing power. However, since most were still a form if Christian, they have historically failed to uphold those same values to others, just themselves, which is ironically not very Christian of them.
This country was never a so call christian country period! The puritans in Massachusetts hang, Sarah good or goody, it how you say her name, was hung as a witch, I'm a decent of her! They also hang quaker! They hanged and kill Mormon, they fled to Utah, to live in peace and freedom to worship, the way they wanted! They burn down a Catholic convent, and several catholic churches in new York city! Most new england colony, would not allow, catholic,in there area! So my friends or lack of, we would never a country of love and understanding!!
So-called Dominionists and likeminded right-wing Christian groups have long been making this assertion and confidently spouting the familiar talking points being trotted out here, even though their claims are directly contradicted by not only the Constitution itself, but related historical documents which specifically address this question.
From the title, answer is no. 78% of the people don’t go to church. And the people I seen in Iowa at church events and Sunday morning on my 1500 mile bicycle ride. Church have become a social club with rules and guidelines.
There is a moral maxim "if you are aware of abuse and do nothing about it you are complicit with that abuse." I think most people of good will would agree with this. Don't you? In light of that moral maxim this god of Abraham-- worshiped by the Jews, Christians and Muslims-- is horrendously immoral. This god is said to be all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent. So, he literally watches children being abused and tortured-- even by his own priests, pastors, rabbis and imams-- and does absolutely nothing. In light of that why would one expect any better from those who worship such a god?
i'm not religious, and i do think government should not be depended on religion. however i'd like to see a christian party on the ballot, hell i'd even vote for it considering trump v bidden.
Just because you build a church and name streets after things in an old book still does not get you anywhere closer to a supernatural being. How about some real evidence for a change.
You have the choice to see the evidence or not. You've chosen not to see it. What's my evidence ? The fact that ANY system works consistently. Want more evidence? Ok, go ahead and make a tree. I'll wait...
So god endowed us with our rights and then we went on to install a government who wrote out a foundational document with only certain guarantees as to those rights?
That sounds about right. Humans are not perfect, but if they get enough right, then most things work out well. You God haters believe that everything should be perfect if there is God. But you couldn't be more wrong. Perfect would mean we were not human and not in control of our own decisions.
@@Sheeler-Bey To you "God hater" is a name ? Sounds more like a description to me,...and anyone else who speaks English. You can't refute the comment so you make a false accusation. Sad. How old are you? Biden supporter I'm sure.

Thank be to God for you brother.

Absolutely not.
Not the way Christians are acting today. But you're right in one way: we need more parties.

Exactly. Do the people in Phoenix or Memphis worship the Sun god? How about Athens and Sparta?
