Constitutional democratic republic = representative democracy = democracy (because 'representative' is the adjective). We're a type of democracy, dude. And this guy is delusional if eliminating the separation of church and state won't lead to one church controlling the government and banning all others. So many lies leavened with enough truthhood to make them plausible. Did you know that Benjamin Franklin rescued Baron von Steuben a known and wanted SSA "sodomite" so that the Revolution itself could be saved? And after the war, von Steuben shared a house with two other men and guess what: _nobody molested them, or cared!_ (Note: "molested" in the old nonsexual sense)

The United States is a Democratic Nation founded on a man made, godless, Constitution. The majority of its citizens belong to the Christian belief system that worships Yahweh the ancient Hebrew god and his son Yeshua (Jesus).

  • @wesstubbs3472

The USA was founded as a godless, secular nation in which citizens are free to exercise any whackadoddle belief that they want - except the belief that America is a "christian" nation. Besides, White Christians just spent the last five hundred years colonizing the entire planet through genocide and racist mass murder - which pretty much defines "christian values."

There is a moral maxim "if you are aware of abuse and do nothing about it you are complicit with that abuse." I think most people of good will would agree with this. Don't you? In light of that moral maxim this god of Abraham-- worshiped by the Jews, Christians and Muslims-- is horrendously immoral. This god is said to be all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent. So, he literally watches children being abused and tortured-- even by his own priests, pastors, rabbis and imams-- and does absolutely nothing. In light of that why would one expect any better from those who worship such a god?

How many of the Ten Commandments should be laws in our nation? I would say only three. The very first commandment is completely contrary to "religious freedom". This guy is repeating the same fear mongering talking points that FOX, Newsmax and OAN have instilled in so many of his generation. It's ironic that he brings up the 1960's because today's world is a paradise compared to the chaos and anarchy of the 1960's.

So-called Dominionists and likeminded right-wing Christian groups have long been making this assertion and confidently spouting the familiar talking points being trotted out here, even though their claims are directly contradicted by not only the Constitution itself, but related historical documents which specifically address this question.

By a lot of measures. The most secular states in the country are New Hampshire and Maine. Safest, best educated. Healthiest. This is sorta rambling nonsense. I have ywt to hear a Christian even attempt to defend vicarious punishment. Christian morality is nonsense. I live in the light. I reject the utter nonsense of Christian doctrine. Thomas Jefferson refused to even set foot in a church while he was President, because he didn’t want to even BEGIN to give the impression that the government endorsed one religion over another. This dude has no idea what he’s talking about. Secularism is one of the principal blessings of this country, that keeps us from turning into a violent chaos zone like they have in the Middle East. We may have a Christian heritage in this country, but we also have a Jewish heritage and an Atheist heritage and a Muslim heritage and a Hindu heritage and a Buddhist heritage. Having a “heritage” just means there is a history of it existing in the country, not that the nation itself is Christian, or any other religion. This is not a theocracy.

I'd say that the foundations were layed in response to the oppression these particular christians had faced by the Christian Dictatorships in Europe, and that it was largely a humanist secular thing, to keep the different denominations, specifically the Puritans, from seizing power. However, since most were still a form if Christian, they have historically failed to uphold those same values to others, just themselves, which is ironically not very Christian of them.

Yes. White Christians have had power and privilege throughout American history. From killing "witches" in Salem, to the genocide and land theft of the First Nations peoples, to the human trafficking and enslavement of Africans.... all done in jesus' name and sanctioned by god and his buybull. Representative republican govt is a form of Democracy. God did not secure human rights for women nor for people of color. Only govt did that. When you are so accustomed to privilege, no wonder equality feels to you like oppression. 💔🤍💙
