Fun Fact: the scene where the marines are being briefed before landing on the planet was filmed last, after all the actors had formed friendships making the film.
Additional Fun Fact: Michael Bien who played Hicks, was not originally cast in the role. Hick was originally played by James Remar, but he was fired from the movie after being arrested for drug offenses and Bien was cast while shooting was already underway. You notice that Hick's armour doesn't fit right in some scenes, having originally been fitted for Remar who was much bigger than Bien. There is actually one shot of Remar in the finished movie, from behind when they are going into the Alien Nest.
Everyone seems surprised by the elevator scene. In real life all elevators are programmed to return to the ground floor during an emergency. Since Ripley was in the sub basement all the elevators were above her. Once the Queen saw her enemy escape in the ‘box’ all she had to do was enter the second ‘box’ and wait. The elevator would then follow its programming and close door then return to the ground floor. Now admittedly the doors of the elevator would have stayed shut since no one pushed the button.
Why not just grant her the intelligence to know the buttons probably operated it? If we exclude AI it’s interesting how rare it is to come across more intelligent species in films. Especially if they aren’t humanoid. We just don’t know if being bipedal has any correlation with evolving higher intelligence. Hands or something that can manipulate objects in a precise way I would imagine is correlated but we only have a sample of one. We know they’ll probably have eyes given eyes have evolved independently 9 different times, however multi-cellular life needs oxygen and photosynthesis has only ever evolved once so we have no idea if it’s rare or extremely rare. Our system developed after before the universe was 10 Billion years old and is already 5 billion years old itself. We therefore can make a guess we’re actually fairly early in a universe that will last essentially forever but be similar to its current state for at least another 100 Billion years. It’s therefore not impossible that the chance of developing photosynthesis was literally quadrillion’s to 1 and that explains why it seem to be just us. I suspect that’s not the case, but I do suspect it’s fairly likely that any galaxy only has one or two intelligent species in it at any one time. We’re extremely close to being capable of deploying drones that map the galaxy in about 1 million years by replicating themselves. It’s therefore quickest way to do it without light speed travel which I suspect is almost certainly impossible.

If you look very closely in the opening scene of Aliens you can see the harpoon gun jammed at the bottom of the airlock door after Ripley shot the xenomorph in the first movie, Alien. This is maybe the reason why the airlock door had to be cut open.
So to jog your memory, the synthetic from the first movie kept sabotaging things per the company's orders in order to bring back the xenomorph alive. The crew was deemed expendable and it even tried to kill Ripley. Hence her intense hatred of them.
I can relate. I don’t have acute claustrophobia, but that pipe crawl is insane. I always have to remind myself that if that was me, I would be a synth, too, so no fear of tight spaces, and more strength. 😅
In the lore of Aliens, the Xenomorphs have no use for synthetics because they can't be used as hosts for their embryos.....so they generally just ignore or kill synths.....
Actually in the first alien movie, in the directors cut, they show that the xenomorph didn't actually kill them but collected them in a hive too. According to the lore a lone xenomorph can transform it's own body to pile of eggs if there is no queen available. You should've probably re-watched the first movie before this as you don't seem to remember much of it.
That giant crest/crown isn't just for show. It's a brain case. Queens are the smartest caste among the species and are capable of negotiation as well as long range communication and coordination. It's non-canon now, but it used to be that they had an IQ of over 175 from the one queen that was tested, and that's only a Queen, there are bigger variants.
You should watch all of them. They are entertaining in their own way. Also predator vs alien all intertwined. Fun fact when the movie came out some people thought the power loaders were real and contacted caterpillar to see if they could get one lol.
You're assuming the queen pressed a button but given the lift started on the platform they landed on my assumption was always that it automatically returns there every time so all the queen had to do was get in and let the door shut.
Yo so the "Facehugger Lab Scene" I feel Janes Epic reaction 100% - I was watching some random TV show, fell asleep, and woke up during freaking "Aliens" during that scene, at age 9 - My reaction was the same as Jane's LOLOL
The reason they didn't show the death's of the aliens in the torret scene is buget. They used, i think, 6 Alien costumes through out the movie. Which I think is awesome in making us believe there was more than that. :)
By the way, I advise you to watch Alien 3 and 4 director's cuts as well as Prometheus Directors Cut in the extended films there are a lot of interesting moments.
Oh, really? Is there a version of 3 without a magic alien egg on the Sulaco? A version where Hicks and Newt are not killed off-camera, in the opening credits?
The xenomorphs learn genetically, like ants. When gestating inside the host the creature learns everything that individual knows. So the Queen knows how to use an elevator.
Yeah, the Aliens are surprisingly intelligent. They may not understand WHY something works but they can absolutely understand cause and effect. They've also had a few weeks to get familiar with the area and how everything works and their experience with the colonists taut them how humans function and when they're most vulnerable (at night, in the dark).
The aliens in this movie are different from the 1st alien in part one . These one's are like soldiers when the other one was built more for sneaking and stuff . The aliens in this one are bigger and stronger and have more armour . The 1st alien had a smooth head when these one's have armoured plates across they're heads.
There is one MAJOR problem with the end and the queen. So once they land and we see the queen is there, we see she was in the landing gear area opening where the landing gear was. Which makes sense she would hide in the crevis. Until you realize when they fly off the planet, you see the ship has its gears back INSIDE. Which means the landing gear would have crushed and killed (or at least mamed) the queen. So obviously its a pretty big shooting error to have had shown the ship with the gear back inside when flying. Some say she still damaged to avoid the landing gear and still fit inside, but that never made sense to me as its clear that gear snuggly fits inside the ship.
The third one you're talking about is called alien 3. And this is the one where the Queen left an egg on their ship and crash-landed on a prison world.
As far as xenomorph canon goes, its said that a xenomorph queen has intelligence equal to that of a human. So it's capable of a lot more than y'all are giving it credit for.
Watch Alien 3, guys! Don't let anyone tell you it's not worth watching. It's one of my favorites in the series, and I'm not the only one. Make up your own minds. I think you'll be glad you at least checked it out. (The Assembly Cut is the definitive version.)
So, let's look at some things that reviewers don't consider. Remember, the characters in the movie are acting like this is real life, and unlike the viewers and reviewers, nobody has just watched a movie about what happened 57 years ago. Why does the corporation not believe Ripley? Why should they? If you are a manager, why believe this farfetched story? There's no evidence that an alien was on the lifeboat. Nobody has seen anything like it on 300 surveyed worlds. People have been on that planet for decades and never saw it. It is far more likely that Ripley blew up the ship and killed the crew for some personal reason. It was irresponsible for VanLeuwen to release her on her own recognizance. She's undergoing psychiatric evaluation. How does he know she won't have a psychotic episode and find a way to blow up Gateway Station to kill some imaginary monster? Why don't the marines take her seriously? Why should they? They are trained and experienced veterans (except Gorman) who have fought some types of aliens before. So now they should take all their tactical advice from a forklift driver who didn't even know how to fire a gun at first? To be safe, why not just nuke the site from orbit to begin with? Sure, let's just drop 40 megatons on 157 unsuspecting men, women, and children who just happen to have a broken radio and are waiting for someone to come check on them. Why were there live face huggers in the colony lab? Oh, obviously some corporate conspiracy must be happening. Or just maybe, people on an alien planet come across a dangerous organism and feel the need to study it, so they will know what they are dealing with. Remember, Burke was trying to keep everything secret from the company until he could get a face hugger back and bargain for the big bucks. Why did Gorman send the marines into the nest if it was obviously dangerous? Because that's their job, and that's where the colonists were. Condition unknown until you check on them. Maybe they were infested, maybe they were dead, maybe they were holed up in some secure place waiting for rescue. If insurgents in Ragheadistan or Bwanazania take Americans hostage, is our SEAL team going to get to the border and say "Oh, screw this, it's dangerous, let's turn around and go home"? Why didn't Gorman explain why they couldn't shoot? Those who have served don't need an answer to that. Officers don't have to explain their orders; you just have to follow them. If it's not clearly an order to commit a war crime, or clearly going to result in needless casualties to no purpose, you don't question; you do. Especially in a combat situation.
1) Gorman and his marines was chosen because of his inexperience in combat situations. Weyland-Yutani planned on that on purpose 2) None of the marines read Ripley's information on the xenos so they had no idea what it was capable of 3) Sigourney's reaction to seeing the queen is authentic. She stayed away from the set to give the audience a real reaction 4) Presumably there could be more than 157 xenos. We don't know when the hive first started collecting its victims or if there was a juvenile queen running around despositing more than one chestburster into each victim to quickly build her hive
#1 - The squad was experienced, but Gorman was new. #2 - They obviously read enough to recognise the signs of some of the xenos having been killed, but even Ripley couldn't tell them what a swarm would be like. #4 - Hadley's Hope had a population of 158, so with Newt alive and John Marachek dying during surgery, that leaves a maximum of 156 hosts for 1 embryo each including the Queen.
@terencemcquillan5750 there is a possibility there is more than 156 xenos: *AVP2 bellybursters if it's considered a Canon method of fast hiving reproduction*
@@jacobdeweil3553 Except that wasn't using a facehugger, which AFAIK only carry one embryo each. Otherwise, a valid point. Also, we don't know if the colony was getting their protein from actual animals or from carni-culture (vat grown meat). Even large dogs are apparently big enough to serve as hosts.
10:08 True but Mars doesn't have a magnetic field and without it the suns solar rays would slowly rip away the atmosphere that you created. Which is why Mars doesn't have life on the surface currently and only has a barren husk of an atmosphere today.

@@refurbishedtechpriest9076 I may have to read this novel, sounds interesting.
@@kerry-j4m I recommend it. The audio-drama version is really good and feels more like listening to a movie, though some of the VA-work leaves a little to be desired.
That's a big affirmative to playing Alien Isolation. Totally worth it. Miles and miles better than Colonial Marines.
And today we learn just how claustrophobic Jane is, at 49:10 !!!
Guys, you miss things when you talk over scenes.
The best sequel ever made. Masterpiece ever.
There was a great comic that took place with these Space Marines just before the events of the movie. They basically fight other alien creatures that kick the shit outta them. Thats why Bill Paxton says "another bug hunt."
The late great Bill Paxton (1955-2017): "Game over, man!! Game over!!" 😅
Check him out in "Twister", "Titanic" and mainly especially in "Weird Science "!👍🏼👍🏼🤣🤣🤣🤣
We could do the garden screen then too - they used a back projection, which is exactly how the crash scene was filmed.
I completely get you Jane. My claustrophobia was PEAKING when Bishop was in that tinyass tube.
If you look very closely in the opening scene of Aliens you can see the harpoon gun jammed at the bottom of the airlock door after Ripley shot the xenomorph in the first movie, Alien. This is maybe the reason why the airlock door had to be cut open.
He's not Reese on this movie. He is Corporal Dwayne Hicks.
It's jane not having the helmet on correctly in the beginning for me!🤣🤣🤣
LMFAO😂😂😂 love the intro!!!😂😂
President Ronald Reagan, and in 84 he won every single state but one. He was incredibly popular.
So to jog your memory, the synthetic from the first movie kept sabotaging things per the company's orders in order to bring back the xenomorph alive. The crew was deemed expendable and it even tried to kill Ripley. Hence her intense hatred of them.
I can't believe that Jane was about to have an anxiety attack and Jason didn't even notice. @49:11
They guy had no clue his wife was losing her mind and near full on panic attack when Bishop went crawling through the tight tunnel 49:02 😂
I can relate. I don’t have acute claustrophobia, but that pipe crawl is insane. I always have to remind myself that if that was me, I would be a synth, too, so no fear of tight spaces, and more strength. 😅
When you're with someone for a long time you get used to their quirks especially stuff like Panic Attacks, being a Hypochondriac, Ect.
Alien to Aliens is like Terminator 1 to 2. First one focuses on horror while the sequel has alot more action
The first one instills the fear. The second one up the stakes...
All the alien and predator movies are worthwhile
No.
Resurrection isn't worth being paid to watch it
the only one i wouldn’t watch is the predator (2018). at least the other films have some redeemable qualities.
@@prodigalbrockI mean if somebody wants to pay me I'm down
Amazing Lance Hendrickson been in few alien movie's new n old guys so damn good in alot of stuff
He was also the voice of Admiral Hacket in Mass Effect
That giant crest/crown isn't just for show. It's a brain case. Queens are the smartest caste among the species and are capable of negotiation as well as long range communication and coordination. It's non-canon now, but it used to be that they had an IQ of over 175 from the one queen that was tested, and that's only a Queen, there are bigger variants.
Yes please do an Alien Isolation playthrough.
Big thumbs up for just wearing the costumes in the beginning😂😂
You should watch all of them. They are entertaining in their own way. Also predator vs alien all intertwined. Fun fact when the movie came out some people thought the power loaders were real and contacted caterpillar to see if they could get one lol.
Omg the intro 🤣
You guys are so silly.
I am glad you guys continue this franchise, please watch all of them!
They just did watch all of them. There are no more movies in this franchise.
You're assuming the queen pressed a button but given the lift started on the platform they landed on my assumption was always that it automatically returns there every time so all the queen had to do was get in and let the door shut.
I like the vibes here
the start of the video was amazing!!!! great job!
The guy that said There goes our Salvage in the beginning was actually the voice of James Cameron
some meta references : KIMBALL! >>> Janitor on Scrubs >>>> cop in The Fugitive >>> chasing Dr. Kimball.
The start is a true theatrical masterpiece
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😜😜😜😜😜
The best opening reaction for the best movie sequel.
By the way, I advise you to watch Alien 3 and 4 director's cuts as well as Prometheus Directors Cut in the extended films there are a lot of interesting moments.
Do not watch Alien 3 and 4. Ever.
@@shihonage You must be one of those fucking stupid flatearthers, right?
IIRC, the warriors/drones were described somewhere as being about as smart as some of the smarter dog breeds. The Queen, on the other hand...
You dorks warm my nerdy heart.
Vasquez played as John Connors foster mother in the second Terminator, and she played as a 3rd class passenger in Titanic ❤
The aliens in this movie are different from the 1st alien in part one . These one's are like soldiers when the other one was built more for sneaking and stuff . The aliens in this one are bigger and stronger and have more armour . The 1st alien had a smooth head when these one's have armoured plates across they're heads.
Can you recognize several of James Cameron's stock actors in this film? Those playing Vasquez, Hudson and Hicks?
Ohhh there's gonna be so many "Justin"'s for this one!
The third one you're talking about is called alien 3. And this is the one where the Queen left an egg on their ship and crash-landed on a prison world.
Alien Isolation?? I couldn't play it because it was so intense. So, YEAH I WANT TO SEE Y'ALL PLAY IT!!!!!!
"It's got her gun??!!" 😅😅😅
He's got a daddy named Forrest too?
As far as xenomorph canon goes, its said that a xenomorph queen has intelligence equal to that of a human. So it's capable of a lot more than y'all are giving it credit for.
Yes, watch them all. You make your own opinion.
I love the skit at the beginning that's fun
Watch Alien 3, guys! Don't let anyone tell you it's not worth watching. It's one of my favorites in the series, and I'm not the only one. Make up your own minds. I think you'll be glad you at least checked it out. (The Assembly Cut is the definitive version.)
Yes watch tem all:D although Alien 3 and Resurrection are less popular.
Loved Jane's jump scare reaction. Nice! And ... Repeat! 😂
It's worth watching alien vs predator if you want more lore about the xenomorohs and where they come from
CPU means: "Comprehensive Plan Update (various locations)"
Is military speech. 😉

Weyland-Yutani planned on that on purpose
2) None of the marines read Ripley's information on the xenos so they had no idea what it was capable of
3) Sigourney's reaction to seeing the queen is authentic. She stayed away from the set to give the audience a real reaction
4) Presumably there could be more than 157 xenos.
YES YALL NEED TO PLAY THE GAME [ALIEN ISOLATION]
“Skunkmyer” - LOL.
Honestly, watch them all. Whatever else, you deserve to see all of them at least once and come to your own viewpoint on how much you like/dislike them. There's no denying the first two are utterly brilliant, and the others are less beloved, but there are things to enjoy in each. It's worth at least a shot for each film.
The third one isn't just bad. It actively shits on the legacy of Aliens. Being bad is forgivable. What Alien3 did is not
@@mikefish1124 I certainly can't argue that. I hated what the 3rd one did to the ending of Aliens, among other things. There's some parts of it that are an interesting movie by themselves. Along with Resurrection, I often felt they were interesting movies on their own, but as part of the Alien franchise I wasn't happy.
That's such a dumb argument. "Chop some fingers off, see if you like it. Don't listen to the people who chopped their fingers by accidents, make up your own mind."
No, dumb is telling people what they should think instead of making their own judgments. But you do you, I guess.
@@bwiedor They ASKED for opinions. If they were not interested, they would not have asked. They certainly don't need anyone's permission to watch anything. When most people say 3 is garbage and not worth it, that probably means something. And I can tell you exactly why it's garbage.
I love how many times hearing Canadians 1st response is nuke it. We all know who starts WW3...
🤣🤣
The third one is Alien³ and as far as I'm concerned there are only 5 movies in this universe. Alien, Aliens, Predator, and Predator 2, Blade Runner: The Final Cut
