Did I cover enough composition awesomeness for you? What questions do you still have? Feeling like you need a brush up on some techniques, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/UBWM8S4hOec/v-deo.html
I received both new books and your brushes for Christmas with a gift card. I have to tell you I’ve been following you for years and have the Royal & Langnickel brushes, but one of your brushes blew me away. The cat’s tongue. I’m at best a beginner at watercoloring and am still in love with it. But that Cats tongue brush is the cat’s meow! Thank you for your honesty in art and watercolor. I went to art school too for photography in early seventies and understand the artistic mind, it’s very special. It’s a gift and you are special for sharing that gift. Many artists as you’ve said before, don’t share. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!! So excited to know you’re having a blast with the cat’s tongue, it’s a special brush. So grateful you are here!!
The added yellow is perfect!
The yellow at the end completed it! Love.
Aww thanks! I was so happy
Loved this video. Helped tremendously. I think those are olives. That’s what they look like before they are processed. My grandfather had an Olive Tree when I was growing up. Kumquats are bigger. He had one of those trees too.
So awesome to hear!!
Yes love the additional yellow!
Wahoo! I still am happy about that decision!
Stunning. Stunning. Absolutely stunning. In love with this so much.
Thank you so much!
I have a large assortment of colors but get so frustrated by being told to use colors I don’t have. Thank you for just using blue, red, yellow etc.. you are so stimulating thank you yvonne
I love the spontaneity of your style. It’s so me. I need to get going!!!!!
Go go go!!
Every video I think "it can't get better than this"...but it can! This is gorgeous!
😘😘
I am super excited to be the OWNER of this Kristy Rice piece!! 😍
I love you ! I told my Bro in law to watch you he just got into watercolors
Wonderful!
It was a joy watching you paint these flowers!
Kristy, this video was so helpful in regard to composition, proportion, color, taking time to evaluate, and picking what you love most to be the focal point/s. Beautiful finished product! I will be brave!
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻So glad it was helpful!! Go be brave!!!!
Just one Word, beautiful 😍😍😍😍
Thanks!
Beautiful painting, Kristy! I’ve been binge watching your videos and love the way you don’t have restrictions to composition and picking out what you like in the photo. You are my inspiration to keep trying new ways to use the dagger brush.
Thanks for watching! XO
Oh I love it so much! That yellow in the end was a perfect touch, I couldn't believe my eyes 🤩
Oh glad you like!! It felt sooo risky but it was worth it! Thanks for watching!!
The yellow at the end is fabulous. Your videos are so inspiring. You are such a delightful energy. Thank you!
Oh aim glad you are liking the yellow! I was pretty excited about it!!! Thanks so much for watching!!!
I love your beautiful, definite style, all of your own and how the artist in you always knows which mark is needed and where. I'm in awe. 💕
Oh friend thank you. I don’t always know, I’m just rarely scared to find out.
Kristy, I was able to buy your watercolor brushes can’t wait to get them 😻. It says delivery 2/2. I am so excited 😆.

The green kumquat fruits are really fun.

Wow! I just love your style! I'll keep trying to be loosely goosey but I always start to focus on perfecting one area. Bounce around the painting, she says. This I will try and save the tickle for the climax of the painting. You are amazingly gifted
Bounce bounce! It works! Keeps you loose!! XO
Thank you
Inspiring so pretty
Thanks so much!!
Great video! So helpful and , not to forget, beautiful.👍❤️🙋🏻
Thank you so much!!
Your videos are like blessing for me... I always struggle in finding the arrangement of the flowers 😍
Awww thank you!!!
Beautiful. Kristy. What is the in-between? Lovely to work from the inspirational photo but I’m not ready to have the composition plan in my head. How to make some planning guides or marks yet not be restrictive and contrived?
This is an AMAZING question. I’m going to answer fully in the community section here soon!
What is the community section. I am interested in you reply to this 😊
You and Jenna Rainey are my favorite quirky fun teachers who are fantastic artists as well, but would be remiss not to include Louise DeMasi who is a soft spoken but quietly fun teacher who is a wonderful artist. All you have to do is watch her outtakes, lol.
Wonderful company to be in. Thank you!!
Great lesson
Thank you!
Thanks sooo much!!
Loved this video like everyone says very inspirational! I’m going to try this so thank you, I love your style and cheerfulness! I think the wee fruits are crab apples, I’m a florist and I would use them in my work! ☘️ ☘️☘️☘️ps I have paint palate envy! Lol
Yay! Thank you! My other biz is designing wedding invitations, small world!
❤❤❤
Hi Kristy! Love your videos! 💜
Always helpful to us beginners. By the way, I'm not positive but I think the green fruit is called Quince. 😁
Ahhhh quince yessss! That makes sense!!! And thank you for you sweet words!
Kirsty this is beautiful! I am really critical of what I do. If I go wrong with a painting I get frustrated and low and give up. Is there anything I can do that is really easy to increase my confidence. I feel I have all sorts of paints, brushes, and pencils and now I can’t concentrate on anything! Any hints?
The fruit looks like a paw paw to me.
Ohhh!
are you weting the paperfirst
Nope!
